I absolutely love david bowie

this is based on a thread saying things i can’t admit to. I couldn’t find it again but i love David Bowie.

My opinion...

He was groundbreaking at the time...but if he hadn't done it, sooner or later someone else would have.

He always comes across like a nice fella, but given his past sexual relations with underage girls, who gives a toss?

It wasn't that it was a 'different time' - sex with kids was considered revolting back then as well. It's just that the rock star status bought them blind eyes and sycophants for company.

Blessed to have seen him as Ziggy Stardust at a small venue as a teenager.

People who slag him off need to get a life. 😅

I saw him as Ziggy in Salisbury. Just amazing!
DH used to give lectures about him at university before he retired.

I live down the road from his childhood home. Saw him and Iman on what I assume was a ‘farewell’ visit, didn’t approach, didn’t want to encroach. I grew up to his music, bloody love him

You’ll be challenging an awful lot of rock stars then, most of them probably.
David Bowie was and is one of the most talented charismatic stars to ever exist.
No one tells me who I should like or not.

tbh I’d forgotten David has been cancelled for having sex with very young girl. I also think that is fair enough. I actually do think less of him for that. I’m not sure if we can ever say ‘it was just a different time’.
