Andrew has not given up anything .
His own ( I doubt the wrote it ) statement says he will not use his ‘titles’ .He still has them

Charles and William dare not touch Andrew in case Andrew reveals all about the rest of them - plus they no doubt see nothing wrong- what’s another used and abused peasant to them ?
But another woman linked to the Windsors has died, Virginia Giuffre, and her book is released next week . So the Windsors need to throw a bone to the public and make it look like they have done something . They have done precisely nothing .
It’s hot air .

Is the BBC helping to prop up the Windsor grift ? The article does say Andrew doesn’t ‘use’ his HRH - but he still has it . So they must know this nonsense re ‘giving up’ a title is not the whole story . Why not make it clear to the reader ?

Prince Andrew gives up royal titles including Duke of York after 'discussion with King'

In a statement, the prince says: "The continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family."

I think thhe OP is just trying to attack Charles and William using anything they can find.

I haven’t exactly had to search !

These are their own actions for gods sake

@BlushingBrightly You are conflating 3 different posts - but it’s not that difficult to understand . We are told each upcoming king will ‘ reform’ . They never do . William will protect his own wealth and the monarchy . He DGAF about anything else .

Andrew still has his titles ( yes they are a nonsense but that’s beside the point here ) . He hasn’t been stripped of anything . The Windsors are trying to trick people into thinking they have acted.
Andrew in his statement has said he vigorously denies the allegations . Really?. If his protestations had an iota of truth he would have helped the police - as by the way he pledged to do . He has done nothing but hide. Oh wait he did do something - he asked the MET to find dirt on Virginia Guiffre .
Elizabeth protected him and she knew. Just as she knew about his abuses while a trade envoy. She was told repeatedly.

As for people who ‘ dont give a shit ‘ as @blacksax charmingly puts it - you speak only for yourself

Decent people DO care that this family have been abusing women and children - never mind all the laws they ignore and their financial greed . More importantly they have used their privileged position as head of state to protect the offenders .

How anyone can ignore the rot clearly being exposed now is beyond me. As for actively supporting them - well each can answer to their own conscience .

@ProfoundlyPeculiarAndWeird

As other posters have pointed out , Andrew has not been ‘jettisoned ‘

Nothing has changed for Andrew .

This is PR puffery and you’ve fallen for it.

To say 'nothing has changed for Andrew' is silly. It clearly has if he can no longer use the titles. You seem to be arguing simultaneously that the royals haven't done anything, that they haven't done enough, and also that that they can't do anything, as in:

By which mechanism would Willaim exile Andrew ?
He doesn’t have the power nor , more importantly , the will

As a result this comes across as an incoherent stream of complaints. Still, you seem to treat it as a hobby, given all the threads, so carry on, I guess.

Nobody gives anywhere near enough of a shit as you think we should.

I give a shit about this grubby grabby family & the fact we are supposed to fund them & their silly made up titles

You seem a bit obsessed OP. Is your own life a bit boring?

Far from it

But thanks for your concern

I’m well used to the royalist basic playbook on here
When they can’t respond to posts critical of the Windsors , they will mock - a series of laughing faces . Hoping to shut up the critics

When that doesn’t work , they start the ‘ you are obsessed ‘ ‘ are you bored’ ( btw have you said the same to the dailyhate posters on the royal family section ? I mean THAT is obsessed . No ? I thought not )

Anyone criticising the Windsors and their close relationships with multiple sex offenders and pedophiles down the generations will get the treatment described above

Really shameful

But completely transparent and ineffective

And re my thread title - the Windsor PR attempt re Andrew’s titles has already fallen flat .
And now we know Fergie took both her daughters to visit Epstein as soon he was released from prison !

No the headlines are NOT clear
A victims campaigner thinks Andrew has had his titles removed - no doubt she thinks this because of the use of ‘stripped’
The headline is misleading

Andrew hasn’t had anything stripped . He still has his titles .

’Andrew says he won’t use the title he still has’ - this is the truth but doesn’t have the same impact does it ??

What is in Virginia’s book that has caused another PR panic for the Windsors

Edited

It's perfectly clear, but let us know how you get on with IPSO.

Mountbatten died 46 years ago. Why are you so determined to bring him up now?

What reason do you have for your staggeringly vociferous and contemptuous attacks of all things Royal? Why are you so determinedly invested in this on an otherwise pleasant Saturday in October?

You also seem to have an extreme disdain for the British public in general (your username bears this out) and you are being very confrontational towards any poster who dares to attempt a reasoned debate with you.

I'm guessing you have a vested interest in doing as much damage to the Royals as possible, and one can't help but wonder why that could be.

OP called me out on looking for other anti royalist posts under their username, I found at least 5. I am well aware they've not broken any MN rules by doing this but I just knew from the username and baiting style there would be others. All along the same kind of lines. I find it obsessive and as if they desperately need a multi-presence on here but basically about the same, underlying grievance- they don't like/want/approve of -whatever- the British monarchy. Fine, thats their prerogative and their opinion- but I what I truly dislike is the initimation that a lot of the rest of us are duped or dim witted fools of some kind if we don't agree with their views on the monarchy entirely. No one has defended Andrew or expressed their surprise at todays developments; however many responding are told they just don't know the facts, or steered to another royal issue. Have an opinion, fine- but repeated new threads on the same basic lines? Completely OTT.

And any comment on the treatment of those who tried to speak out about Mountbatten ? ( dear uncle Dickie to Charles )

It’s not just the BBC - as was discussed earlier .

Though the BBC was the main offender re Mournathon . Absolutely craven they were - but it back fired .

Here’s the link for BBC complaints but other media outlets are available ….

I agree the Royal Family has done the least that they could get away with. They have not shown themselves to care about the issue very much.

Ukisgaslit · 18/10/2025 15:11

But @Catsknowbest you’ve been busy counting my threads and complaining I’m posting too much ( that behaviour is against the rules but I’ll let you off as I’m generous spirited ).
Now you want me back posting quick smart !

So in your gallant efforts to free the people from the yoke of made up royalty @Ukisgaslit have you complained to BBC, to IPSO or just enjoying a rant on MN?

I think a few people have asked that but it hasn't had a response as yet.

It’s a huge embarrassment for Andrew but in reality it changes nothing! He is still Prince Andrew and always will be.

He is obviously a wrong un but I think he is being used as a scapegoat to protect others who were Epsteins friends - cloak and daggers but not within the royal family!!

prince Andrew will still have his family money and home but will be a public pariah! I think the letter Sarah Ferguson wrote, again was leaked for ill intent! If the person had been a good friend to them (without the repulsiveness/ evil) she can write a letter to him saying he had been a good friend. Why was it released many years later?

not usually one for conspiracy theories but seem weird just one prince is the main target instead of many, many very wealthy and powerful men.

I agree with this.

Who are the people who have (rightly) lost something as a result of the whole awful affair (other than Epstein himself obviously)?

I can think of only four - all British citizens:

Ghislaine Maxwell
Prince Andrew
Sarah Ferguson
Peter Mandelson

It could be that I have missed it, or that the British media is not covering it, but what is happening to the other men who abused Epstein’s victims? I seem to recall that in one of the recent documents that was released in the USA, every single name was redacted except for Prince Andrew’s.

One final point, I really don’t think referring to Prince Andrew as a paedophile is helpful.

Virgina Roberts was under the age of consent in New York (but not London). He was far older.
But she was 17, not a pre-pubescent child.

Ukisgaslit · 18/10/2025 14:02

@Catsknowbest

Sorry to disappoint you but that won’t be ‘it’

The corruption and abuses are numerous .
The more light shed on them the better .

He was blown up by the IRA. Punishment enough, surely?

That's a puerile way of looking at it. He was never held to account for his grotesque crimes, whilst his victims (orphans and children in care) were systematically silenced by the establishment. They have not seen justice, apology or recompense and I doubt they ever will. Mountbatten died an instantaneous death at the age of 79 having lived a supremely privileged and licentious life. He should have stood trial but of course the Royal Family has always enjoyed unfettered protection by the establishment. The latest pantomime involving Andrew is merely an act of pure self preservation on the part of "The Firm".

Ukisgaslit · 18/10/2025 13:38

I’ve checked again
I started the thread in the financial abuses of the Duchies in January !
If you are triggered by reading about the abuses the Windsors carry out - don’t read them

People posts multiple daily threads for months on end in the Harry Hate section - but I just ignore them
HTH

I'm not triggered. I just had a feeling one thread just wouldn't be "it"

Catsknowbest · 18/10/2025 13:50

Ukisgaslit · 18/10/2025 13:30

I’m not running anything .

I have started five threads since the start of this year - maybe end of last year I’m not sure

One highlighted the shocking abuses carried out in William and Charles’ names via the duchies - ie charging state bodies / NHS for use of ‘their’ land ( it isn’t )

Another was promoted to a similar issue as today’s - royal propaganda .

Is that ok with you ?

Am I breaking some rules ?

At least 5 since start of this year. Not breaking any rules as far as I know. You just seem utterly obsessed.

AspiringChatBot · 18/10/2025 13:49

So contact the BBC directly and demonstrate to them that their reporting is misleading? And/or report them to OFCOM, if they've violated standards.

People can call themselves whatever they want. My partner used to teach abroad and every year he had children in his classes with first names like Prince, Princess, Duke, Duchess, Pope, Imam, etc. - he even taught a "Prince Charles (Lastname)" (and once, a generic-sounding "Heiress"). The power the King has is to invoke consequences for Andrew IF he uses titles or stylings he's agreed not to use. And the reason he can invoke consequences is because he has the ability to withdraw or limit financial support, protection, and legitimacy to Andrew.

If anything, this latest move highlights what you'd think the RF would be desperate to hide - the fact that under this fundamentally flawed system the public is forced to subsidise and the media is incentivised to elevate what could easily be the absolute worst people in the world. It's pure dumb luck that Andrew is 8th in line to the throne, and not sitting on it.
