Hi everyone!
Im due my second baby at the end of this year and am struggling with names!
I was wondering if any of you would be willing to share the names you’ve called your children or names of grandchildren/neices/nephews etc.
Sometimes I think it’s nicer to hear about people’s actual choices, whether they regret or love their choice, how it suits their child etc.
I have read through almost every list going - thought this might be a different way to get some ideas!
Thank you so much

I always really liked the name Andromeda, after watching Clash of The Titans, as a child. Alas it never happened.

I didn't call DD Sophia, if that helps.

Whatshesaid96 · 17/10/2025 19:32

I had Imogen and Felicity on our girl list. I think our boy list just had Stanley on it apart from the name we chose for DS.

My DD and DS have traditional timeless names but are in the top 20

Lululemonade11 · 17/10/2025 19:31

For girls, old fashioned names seem to be making a comeback

Beatrice, Alice, Esmee, Maeve

I love it! Gary is a great name.

Gary is underrated to be fair. I think it's due a comeback!

NannyOggsScones · 17/10/2025 19:31

The boy and the girl. When nosy people asked me what I was going to call them when I was pregnant I used to say “Ulysses” which I’m now regretting not using for DS.

Jacob Rease Mog called his 6th sextus (6 in latin)

Sixtus. Don’t be disgusting.

AgentPidge · 17/10/2025 19:30

I would've used Sebastian, Gabriel, Tabitha and Tallulah if I'd dared. But we gave them normal names. I also like Kit.

CarrierbagsAndPJs · 17/10/2025 19:30

Have you looked at the national statistics website as they are actual named babies.

Okay I realise maybe this isnt going to get me any sensible ideas so maybe just names you considered for your children or names you liked but couldnt use??

Op this is one of those threads where the first few respondents set the tone and the rest try to Mean Girl after them.

There’s a baby name board for inspo, all you’re going to get here is quite immature (not to mention not very funny) responses

CrispsPlease · 17/10/2025 19:30

Would you like their years of birth and my first school and my mother's maiden name ?

Hoardasurass · 17/10/2025 19:30

Algen · 17/10/2025 19:26

Didn’t some politician actually do that?

I won’t say my kids actual names but the number 2 contender for each was Madeleine and Cassius. Which both sound super fancy and not at all like the names we actually gave them which are top 20, weirdly.

Shattereddreamsparkway · 17/10/2025 19:27

Ian and Gary - my gorgeous boys 2 & 4&2 months I’m due another boy and on my list are Nigel, Clive or Keith. I liked Karen, Julie and Ruth for a girl - but alas, never meant to be

NotSayingBotBut · 17/10/2025 19:26

It was going to be Thomas and Henry but my DH said they sounded like tank engines, so they're called something else non- train related.

dontcomeatme · 17/10/2025 19:26

I don't see how this could really be outing.
I have a Henry and an Edward. Love both their names, Edward gets Eddie or Ted as NN. I loved Jacob at the time but a friend stole it first 😅

What's your first called and do you know the sex of second? X

Number 1 and number 2 and so on.

Didn’t some politician actually do that?
