Strip Club

Husband went to a strip club whilst away on a work trip.
Spent a ridiculous amount of money (over £1000).
Didn’t admit where he had been until confronted with proof.
His story:
he took some clients and paid for them to have private dances, while he sat in the bar area, having a drink whilst waiting for them.

I'm inclined to believe him, AIBU? Or just a complete fool?

Well, I would be inclined to follow this story up with him. Ask for proof that his company have reimbursed him. Ask detailed questions about which of these men are married and who were single. Say how uncomfortable you are with him hiding it from you, if he had no reason to hide it in the first instance. In my all or nothing head, having a stripper dance naked, privately, is a step too far and I’d class it as cheating.

blankcanvas3 · 12/10/2025 11:41

What kind of company would allow for expensing a trip to the strip club? He’s a liar

B1anche · 12/10/2025 11:41

I'm inclined to believe him

Oh come on. No self-respecting employer would be encouraging this by reimbursing expenses.

The £1,000 of services was for him...and it wasn't just a sexy dance. Raise your bar OP.

IAmThePrettiestManOnMyIsland · 12/10/2025 11:41

It wouldn't have mattered if he spent a tenner. Divorce.

Summernightcity · 12/10/2025 11:39

You are a fool

northernballer · 12/10/2025 11:37

Of course it won't be on expenses, that just wouldn't happen these days and him thinking you're stupid enough to fall for that says a lot.

Sorry OP, you must be all over the place.

Can't a daily mail reporter just login and lift them? I'd be much more worried about the seedy husband rather than the seedy newspaper, but I wouldn't worry OP he won't get this back on expenses. So he's just a bloke that went to a strip club, these are ten a penny and the Daily Fail really won't be interested.

Very true.👍

Catpiece · 12/10/2025 11:35

🍿

KnickerlessParsons · 12/10/2025 11:34

Whether he paid for clients and didn’t participate himself, or whether he did participate is neither here nor there.
Id be furious. It might even be a marriage breaker, I’d need to think very carefully about that.

Breli · 12/10/2025 11:32

I wonder what the expenses code for ‘paying women to take their clothes off’ is? I’ve not seen it on our company code sheet.

Unfortunately Mumsnet own all posts and us posters have no control where subject matter end's up.

Alwaysinamood · 12/10/2025 11:29

What was the proof you found? You must’ve had a gut feeling to look for proof of something in the first place. Sorry but his excuses remind me of the sketch on Little Britain with the politician saying he accidentally fell on top of a man’s penis 😂😂

RogerR4bbit · 12/10/2025 11:26

Is your husband Donald Trump?

I don’t know who else would pay for an employee and “clients” to have sex acts performed on them 🤷‍♀️

user0345437398 · 12/10/2025 11:25

Standard fee for the non-advertised services that.

Oh god I absolutely do not want this to be public knowledge, hence posting anonymously on here for advice rather than speaking to people in real life!
Now I’m panicking… I do not give any permission for any seedy newspapers to repost this in any way.

Sell this story to thedailyfail.

Xxx company reimbursed my husband for strip club night

We need to know which company is sanctioning this behavior of its employees

What type of company is going to reimburse £1000 worth of lap dances?

Planesmistakenforstars · 12/10/2025 11:15

I know there's a temptation to bury your head in the sand about it, but you cannot possibly believe that.

Didn’t admit where he had been until confronted with proof.

So he's already lied. And he's now spinning you the only story he can come up with that absolves him. He's a lying little turd.

TheExcitersblowingupmymind · 12/10/2025 11:15

I AM fuming.
I absolutely do not agree with exploiting women. It’s sickening to think of any men leering over women, let alone my husband. He knows I would not be happy with this.

He said he was in a position where he felt he had no choice and will be getting this back on expenses.

It’s all lies isn’t it?

Yes it's all lies.
He did have a choice.. don't walk through the doors.
He could've organised an exquisite meal at a posh restaurant to impress clients but he didn't.

Getagrip22 · 12/10/2025 11:11

Yes it's lies, but I think you know this.

Onemoreagainforluck · 12/10/2025 11:06

What industry does he work in that there is pressure on him to take clients to a strip club?
He is absolutely taking you for a fool.
He went to the strip club because he wanted to. He spent money on private dances and probably extras.
And now he is lying to you
This would be a relationship ender for me.

Yes and £1000 is a lot of private dances, and whatever extras. No way his company would sanction him spending £1000 on clients in a strip club, what kind of seedy establishment does he work for if he claims this is the case?

BauhausOfEliott · 12/10/2025 11:03

You’re being astonishingly naive.
