Well, that was my thinking but apparently not. Wild.

Exactly. It's a parenting site in Britain; if you thought it's more likely that it was meant sincerely then maybe readjust your settings and don't automatically think the worst of someone if you're not sure what they meant.

He was in prison for multiple sex offences against children. taxpayers money should not be used to feed and house such scum. good riddance

MANY men charged with sexual offences against children kill themselves whilst awaiting trial. This is because they'd rather die than face the hell that awaits them in prison. Happy for my taxes to pay towards them to rotting in prison than allow them to take the easy way out.

shhblackbag · 11/10/2025 18:09

29 years was nothing for what he did. I hope he died in agony. Utter scum.

Notmycircusnotmyotter · 11/10/2025 18:09

I loved Lost Prophets. Obviously can't listen to them anymore. Worst of the worst. Good riddance.

The court sentencing remarks were one of the worst things I ever read. Horrendous man. Good riddance.

I agree. I regretted reading them.

I found this really interesting as I absolutely think those things! I could never listen to R Kelly or MJ again due to those things, they are blocked on my Spotify etc.

weird how we’re all so different!

Same

Greycheck · 11/10/2025 18:08

I hope he suffered

Well I’m truly astounded that people listen to music and think about the lead singer and their life while listening to it.

I don’t hear an R Kelly song and immediately think - sex trafficker, or an MJ song and not enjoy it because of paedophilia allegations. It’s separating art and artist I suppose.

And there were other people in that band whose livelihoods he destroyed. I’d be more than happy to enjoy their work and have them be paid royalties for it.

I think lots of people do struggle to listen to R Kelly and MJ
And the lost prophet band members changed genre and made new music later. People could listen to that if they were so bothered about their income.

catin8oot5 · 11/10/2025 18:07

Nobody should be celebrating the death of any individual, not even this monster.

But I have to say reading the judge’s sentencing remarks in this case (for work) were some of the most horrific things I’ve ever read.

He planned to rape a baby.

He didn’t just plan it, he did it, in a hotel room to a one year old baby.

I hope Watkins died terrified, in pain and lonely. Utter scum.

TLOAS · 11/10/2025 18:05

Puppycrate · 11/10/2025 17:48

What on Earth ??? I did not know that about this case . Did she go to prison too ? I assume the baby was taken off her ?

I think I was incorrect on recalling she was pregnant. She already had the baby.

Hanging should be brought back for people like him. I'm glad he won't breathe again.

InNewYorkNoShoes · 11/10/2025 18:04

Now he’s in hell I hope that his victims and the families have some peace. They are who matters.

MouseCheese87 · 11/10/2025 18:04

I see it's on SKY NEWS now.

Yes, it looks like it's true.

Shame. #sarcasm. Wink

BBC have it on their website now as well

Someone will come along and say this isn’t what we should be saying in a civilised society etc but . . . Burn in hell. He wanted to rape a little baby.
I wish I would send whoever did it some commissary.

Considering where he was the person who did it will likely have committed similar crimes.

Americano75 · 11/10/2025 18:03

If you're glad this happened to Ian Watkins, are you also in favour of capital punishment? Because you really can't be of the 'hope they turned a blind eye' brigade and also oppose the death penalty, can you? Or is murdering a monster okay if a prisoner did it? I'm also reminded of David Blunkett's comments about cracking open the champagne when Shipman killed himself. We should just be honest and say that none of these bastards deserve to live.

I've worked in a men's prison, none of those beasts had any idea that nice Ms Americano would have happily seen them swing.

The turn a blind eye comment aside there is a huge difference between supporting state sanctioned murder and not being too bothered that a piece of scum has taken their own life or been taken out by another piece of scum.

The authorities won't turn a blind eye, they know who did this and he will be charged and time added onto his sentence, there is a good chance he is a lifer anyway.

I can't separate the art from the artist. When it comes to light that yet another man is a paedophile - I'm off. I won't listen to their music, watch their films, enjoy their paintings. I feel sad for their close colleagues (the ones that truly did not know) and the possibility of losing their livelihood by being guilty by association, but...nope.

What’s wrong with being in favour of capital punishment? People like this should not be walking the streets or costing us money. I’m all for the death penalty.

I would be in favour of it for crimes against children, yes.

Kibble19 · 11/10/2025 18:00

Excellent. I truly hope he suffered and felt every last injury he sustained. Hope it took him a good while to die.

If there is a hell, he’s on the way there for eternity.
