I have a very strong stomach for this sort of thing due to the nature of my work, but I cried reading the court transcripts of his trial. Truly truly evil. I am very very glad he is dead and I hope he suffered greatly and was as terrified as the baby boy he raped.

OMG did he really rape a one year old baby boy?? I cannot even imagine how this is in any way possible.

I was aware of who he was and his conviction for paedophilia but didn't know details. Utterly monstrous and depraved evil evil man. I hope hell is real and is waiting for him. My god, what walks among us!!

He was also a cocky little cunt about what he did before he was caught. His laptop password showed just how much.
I listened to a podcast regarding the case, an ex of his repeatedly told the police what he was like and was turned away, written off as a jealous ex iirc.

He would have been on a wing with others who committed similiar crimes, so doubt very much he was killed due to his offence

its not good news that a prisoner had an improvised weapon. That could have been for me or a colleague.

They bloody shouldn't be because if a prisoner can get hold of a weapon to do this then they can just as easily turn it on those same guards.

I won't be shedding a tear, but the fact a prisoner has managed to kill another when they shouldn't be able to access the right tools to do so isn't good news...

I just saw on the news that he’d been stabbed before and had to have life saving surgery. Can you imagine being that surgeon. I guess they have to put aside who they are working on and do the job. I don’t think I could. I’d have left some scalpel blades in there before sewing him up.

I've read that the surgeons tell themselves they are keeping the fuckers alive so they can suffer.

Genuinely surprised it took this long. He's a high profile paedo and according to the reporting of the last attempt, had drug debts and needed to pay for protection.

If you're glad this happened to Ian Watkins, are you also in favour of capital punishment? Because you really can't be of the 'hope they turned a blind eye' brigade and also oppose the death penalty, can you? Or is murdering a monster okay if a prisoner did it? I'm also reminded of David Blunkett's comments about cracking open the champagne when Shipman killed himself. We should just be honest and say that none of these bastards deserve to live.

It’s possible to be glad a scumbag is dead without necessarily approving of the manner in which he died. I reckon plenty of people would be just as happy if he’d slipped on a bar of soap or choked on a chicken bone.

Holy shit. At the time I couldn’t read the details so I didn’t know he actually did it. I thought it was ‘just’ planning things (obviously that’s horrific enough).

He was paying other inmates for protection apparently. Maybe he ran out of funds.

A lot of people will assume that the inmate who murdered him did so because they had moral objections to his crimes, but the last time he was attacked in prison it was widely reported to be due to an unpaid drug debt.

This is by far the greatest thing i have heard in so long! I so hope every day he spent in there was beyond miserable and his death was painful and slow, it will still have been to good for him. There are no words to describe what a vile pile of garbage he was!

He was shanked in the jugular, it would have been over for him in seconds. So not prolonged. Which in my opinion is the wrong way to go for the type of individual Watkins was. I won't say what I think should have happened to him.
