Its interesting some of the responses on here.

When a thread is started about standing with Palestinians, I dont recall snidey or snipey remarks like 'I'll update the spreadsheet' and 'cool'.

Anyway, its time to focus on the ceasefire and hope that plans move forward for releases and calm. Aid will be making its way through to those suffering in Gaza. Support should be shown also for Jewish people in this country to live safe lives.

What are you doing for them to make a difference?

People object to standing with Israel after what its government has done to Gaza - not to standing with Jews. Conflating Jews with Israel isn't very helpful - as posters have pointed out, many diaspora Jews, and Israelis, object to Netanyahu's government and their actions.

And i think the vast majority of people who disagree with it still have utmost sympathy for Israeli hostages and their families.

Presumably you mean the UK Jewish community. But it’s worth noting that a good many Israelis loathe Netanyahu and have long wanted the war to stop. Just the other day the Beeb broadcast an extremely outspoken tirade from the father of a son who was taken hostage at 21. The father quite clearly loathes Netanyahu and his government.

I'm Jewish and i don't think standing with us is particularly controversial with the vast majority of people.

Apologies if I've misunderstood you, but I hope you're not trying to imply that there's something not socially acceptable, dare I say it, 'non-woke', about supporting the Jewish community. Because I don't much like us being used as a prop for that kind of discourse.

Most of the Jewish people I know are also concerned about genocide in Gaza. Last time I was down on a protest, the first person I ran into was an Israeli ex-colleague.

Jewish people and the Israeli government are very different it’s perfectly possible to stand with Jewish people and also Palestinian people but not Hamas. It’s not that tangled a web that it can’t be picked apart by common sense and compassion for all.

Posters have said there has been an influx of ‘pro Israel’ posts recently, which is apparently part of Netanyahu’s great plan 🙄

I can assure you I’m not a bot; I am a German who is married to a Brit and lives in the UK (for now),

As an aside, I was sad to learn of the death of Rochelle Majer Krich last month, an author whose novels I enjoyed when I was younger.

Absolutely agree.

I would prefer a 'statement' that encompassed this view.
