Men violently preventing women from congregating, communicating and networking, is what the Taliban do. Why is it happening in the UK?

The FiLiA Women's Liberation Conference was targeted overnight, the attackers even live tweeted the violence.

Local politicians are so far silent.

This is literally terrorism, using fear and violence to shut down legitimate peaceful discussions.

Live: Venue vandalised and protesters demonstrate at feminist conference

The Brighton Centre has been vandalised as a feminist conference begins there today.

Anyone with half a brain can see this is just intimidation of women by violent, aggressive men 🤷‍♀️ both the ones in dresses and their mates - any minimisation of that is absolutely justifying male bullying of women whatever word salad someone comes up with to excuse it.

Kimura · 12/10/2025 01:00

EasternStandard · 11/10/2025 07:19

Why all these posts justifying male violence? Is it in every situation where you agree men will get angry so just expect it or just this one?

Nobody has justified male violence in this thread.

Domestic violence is never justified. Direct action (vandalizing a venue hosting something you take issue with, in this case) can be justifiable or not. For the people doing the vandalism, it's a justifiable way to make whatever point it is they're trying to make. For the people they're targeting, it's an unjustifiable attack on them, their freedoms and their cause.

Pointing out that it was very obvious to anyone with half a brain that holding this conference in Brighton was going to cause a reaction is not 'justifying male violence'. It doesn't mean that they should have held it somewhere else. It's just a fact.

I'm not sure what you mean by this

Seems clear enough to me.

From its earliest days, feminism has been in a large part about women having the right to be in all the places men are allowed to be. In the town square, on bookshelves as authors, in schools and universities, in voting booths, in the corridors of power, in the saloon bar, in the boardroom ... and in this case, in Brighton.

And men have always objected.

Liberation from the constraints of material reality.

This is only the beginning, apparently.

They are absolutely living in their own little fantasy world. I wonder if it's the side effects of cross-sex hormones.

I wondered Liberation from what exactly? They aren’t locked up ( well apart from all the convicted sex offenders) and then I reaslised it’s a thing apparently total trans liberation will liberate us all! Huzzah! Unless of course you’re keen on any selfish single sex rights.

This one is so close to getting it...

If this was the other way round - something done by terfy activists at a trans conference, you’d bet your house there would be quotes at the end included from Maya Forshiter / Peeona McAnena but surprise surprise no “BBC balance” with quotes from a trans person / organisation.

Try harder, phoenixmeta, try harder to think why that has never been reported...

Edited

Yep, almost there......😊

Yes @Noodledog - go to their website and sign up to be a Friend of FILIA.

Inspired by Kimura's dogged defense of male violence against women, does anyone know if it's possible to make donations to FiLiA?

SingleSexSpacesInSchools · 11/10/2025 16:02

These men really don't like women talking, do they? 😁

There must be a name for it? Is it "womenphobia"
"chatphobia"
"scared of women phobia"

Ofc when they protest us there isn't a police investigation 🤬

He’s not generally listened to too much as he understands the Supreme Court judgment and is anti GLP because he sees them as the bunch of hopeless grifters they are.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 11/10/2025 16:59

SingleSexSpacesInSchools · 11/10/2025 16:02

Hilarious. They have no idea what the Filia conference even is. And from what I’ve seen most of them think the op of that thread is a GC infiltrator trying to stir/persuade them that GLP are talking bullshit.

There is also the option of reporting Berry as an MP for breaching parliamentary standards. I wonder if an FOI would reveal what was said between her and the council.

The more people who do the better…

They smashed Wes Streetings' office windows. He has condemned the vandalism and intimidation at FILIA.

Maybe he will change the NHS website back to allowing the word "women" rather than "people with a cervix" now?

They wash their hair?

Funnily enough. When typing that I reminded myself of one of the Glinner tweets that got him arrested. Not the 'balls' one. Just imagine that 'washing' is a stand in for something else, with a similar spelling and 'their hair' is utterly redundant.

Anyone who would like to make a complaint to the GPEW about Berry's statements on X, here is their Code of Conduct

This somehow makes sense in TRAs' heads. They obviously don't know anything about Filia.

SirBasil · 11/10/2025 11:37

lcakethereforeIam · 11/10/2025 10:49

As though if the conference had taken place at anywhere except Brighton it would have passed off completely peacefully 🙄 All the tras would have been washing their hair.

They wash their hair?

eatfigs · 11/10/2025 11:02

TheKeatingFive · 11/10/2025 10:39

I think, little by little, the TRAs are wrecking their position. Not sure how long that will take to trickle down to Labour leadership though.

Agreed, from their perspective sticking with the sympathetic eunuch character as a representation of trans would have a much better tactic than handing over the comms to violent masked men.

KTheGrey · 11/10/2025 11:00

eatfigs · 11/10/2025 10:27

I think Labour leadership are hoping this issue will go away quietly through the actions of others, like the SC and the NHS, because if it came to a vote it would tear their party apart. Plus they're aware from polling that the electorate mostly doesn't believe in "her penis" ideology.

Yes, various people have suggested that KS is a tough bloke, but his actions - with the exception of his reaction to the Southport crisis - do not suggest that he is. He is a cautious type who has so far not managed to unite his party enough to put country ahead of constituency, or managed to put through what he wants sneakily behind the scenes. Looks like toast to me.

Also looks like women’s rights - to assembly, free speech and protection from violence, sexual and otherwise - has already split the left. Look at Corby Sultana Party.
