To be sick and tired of DP’s requests?

We are two years in, and every time we are going to be intimate, DP asks me to dress up in something.

Started off with lingerie, now it’s ’oh do you have any leather’, or if we are watching TV - ‘do you have some boots like her for later’.

The odd occasion - absolutely fine. But it’s become a chore now.

He said I should feel sexy getting dressed up and seeing how much he enjoys it.

AIBU to say enough is enough?

I could of written this myself! I am in the exact same boat! And we are getting married tomorrow

Please don't marry him. Sounds like he is a tedious, selfish sexist pig as well.

Charredtea · 09/10/2025 19:59

Who wears ‘pencil skirts’ ? Are they back in fashion without my realising?

my mum used to go on about pencil skirts in the 1980s.
I wasn’t allowed to wear one because ‘they ride up when you sit down’
i didn’t have a fucking clue what she was on about .
how old is this man op? it doesn’t sound like regular people chat.
Sounds like he was texting after waking from his fever dream

TheDayWeGotMinnie · 09/10/2025 19:57

And back in the sea he goes. What a massive ick

Is he even thinking about you? Or the woman on the tv in the boots/ some woman in the office in a pencil skirt etc? Is it actually a way of fantasising that you’re someone else?

Suspect its more likely that he has a weird porn "storyline" in his head. Boss with secretary etc

DrowningInSyrup · 09/10/2025 19:55

Another vote for telling him he's tedious bore and he needs to fuck right off. He's gross.

As an aside, who buys all these costumes and where do you stash them?

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 09/10/2025 19:55

That wouldn’t be for me either. I can’t explain why but perhaps that it’s just too much preparation and would take the fun out of it somehow.

Use the old MN classic on him “are you on glue?!”

Not too late to call it off.

I wish I had the night before my first wedding when I finally realised what a huge mistake it was. And no, it wasnt "easier to go through with it and get divorced later". It felt like it at the time but honestly, it wasnt.

Thanks all. Yesterday was the final straw I think - he had a rare day in the office and text on his lunch: “idea for Friday. You can tell I’ve not been in HO for a while. Pencil skirt?!”

Eeew. That's grim - he wants you to dress up as one of his colleagues. What a sexist pig.

PyongyangKipperbang · 09/10/2025 19:51

Is there a reason you havent dumped him??!

If you as you are is not enough for him then he isnt good enough for you.

Start making suggestions for him. The cat from Cat in the Hat. The Gruffalo. Mr Tumble.

😅😅

Sortalike · 09/10/2025 19:50

The ick is strong with this one.

And you know once you've got the ick it doesn't go away.

TY78910 · 09/10/2025 19:49

He’s obviously in to dominating you in one way or another. And it seems you played ball at the beginning so he needs to understand that sex isn’t just for his pleasure, it involves the two of you. So it seems to me you would have been fine if this was a bit more 50/50 - some of the sex he likes and some that you like.

the comment ‘why don’t you wear boots like her’ to a rando on telly would fuck me off tbh.

MyAmusedPearlSquid · 09/10/2025 19:49

He would be dumped he sounds like a creep ffs

whattheysay · 09/10/2025 19:48

I’m all for spicing things up in the bedroom but this is a major turn off not to mention a bloody faff having to get dressed up every time he wants sex, either your own naked body is enough or it’s not you don’t need to put up with this shit.

That doesn't work for me.

That simple.

He's a cheeky fecker. He'll try to talk his way around excuses and guilt you into not 'doing it for him'.

If he doesn't get the hint, a 'Fuck, no!' might suffice.

DrowningInSyrup · 09/10/2025 19:46

FeliciaFancybottom · 09/10/2025 18:08

Where is he expecting you to magic up some leather and kinky boots from on a whim (his whim!)?
Does he think you're Mr Benn?

🤣

That's a whole other fetish

lifeonmars100 · 09/10/2025 19:44

I'd dress up a character from a horror film, maybe Hannibal Lecter complete with mask

JustSawJohnny · 09/10/2025 19:43

Just say no. Tell him it's all a bit much and he can start dressing up for you.

He's being really entitled.

cadburyegg · 09/10/2025 19:42

That would give me the major ick

Sassylovesbooks · 09/10/2025 19:42

Dressing up every now and again is fine, but every time you start to get intimate, he wants you to pull a sexy costume out of the bag 🙄 Can he not have sex without you dressing up? If that's the case, then he's got issues, that you can't solve. Have you spoken to him regarding how you feel? Him telling you, how you should feel, is him, not listening to you and minimising your feelings. When he comes over on Friday, expecting you to be wearing a low cut blouse, black pencil skirt and high heels - I'd be wearing a onesie! When he asks where's the sexy outfit, I'd be blunt - I am bored out of my bloody mind dressing up for you every time we have sex. It's tedious and making sex a chore. So no, there won't be a pencil skirt tonight or any other night.

Bulbsbulbsbulbs · 09/10/2025 19:41

So he's telling you he spends his time in the office fantasising about all the women who work there. So they are all sex objects too. He's telling you "I'm a creep".

LizTruss · 09/10/2025 19:41

It's wearing isn't it.

OK, I'll be the lettuce if you are the cucumber ... but no onion this time - it makes my eyes water.
