To ask if most straight men are attracted much younger women?

Had a depressing moment at work today, male colleague played a Jimmy Carr stand-up clip on his phone and it went along the lines of “if I had to pick my favourite child it would be my neighbour’s hot daughter.” The other men with him laughed at it. I couldn’t help feeling a bit nauseous and it’s made me question whether many older straight men actually do fantasise about girls in their late teens or whatever. Perhaps I have been naive to think it was something that just appealed to a minority of perverts. One or two of them have daughters too and it just strikes me as odd that they could even laugh at a joke like that. Am I naive to feel this way?

Yes they definitely are! I’m sure lots would deny it very convincingly but I think it’s just the nature of the male species. They are programmed to feel this way as their bits still function reproductively for the most part, long after women. Many older men will love their middle aged wives and feel deeply connected to them, having a shared history together and raising children. However they absolutely fancy younger women and they have thoughts they wouldn’t dream of admitting- guaranteed

Really?

I mean, attractive as in sexually attractive, not as in 'yes I'd marry/date this man, they're a good prospect'

Not for me nor my friends my age.
Our taste has followed us with age.
You tend to find women do like men similar to their age. Not 20/30 years younger.

What I think doesn’t matter. Evolution cares only about what works to further the species, not what is moral.

Of course. Just the way you were writing, it almost seemed like you shared that same view as evolution does (not that it has a view as such, but ykwim)

No it’s not paedophillia. Paedophillia is an attraction to prepubescent child. A 15 year old is adult from a biological perspective and men are hardwired to be attracted to them.

Yep.

What's weird is hebephilia, when men only like young adolescents.

Do you think being friendly and gentle is less important than having resources- from a moral not evolutionary perspective, mind you?

Evolution also involved women being brood mares for a long time & often rape. Those are still detestable, evolution or not evolution.

Do most adult women not find early 20s men attractive? Surely most do?

Nope

And this society, or any other, wouldn't exist at all if it weren't for early men's (and women's) reproductive strategies. If males favoured pairing up females well into their 20s and 30s and females mated with the friendliest, gentlest males, rather than powerful ones with the most resources, Homo Sapiens, or one of its progenitors, would be long extinct. Evolution has specifically selected for the traits that you now find so detestable. Can you really not see this?

Whether they'd date them is ofc very different.

More controversial ofc is how many women find postpubescent teen boys attractive.

So, why have you name changed? Are you ashamed of yourself?

Also do you ask male friends if they fancy 15 year olds? That must be an odd conversation.

What do you think men talk about when alone with each other?

Look at the 70s,,when many men were open about finding even younger actress like Brooke Shields or Jodie Foster attractive.

I did imagine myself holding a sword, poking out the eyes of the men ogling my DD aged 16 in Spain recently, she looks much younger too. Wearing a nice flower dress with sandals. Weirdo's. 🤮

Sadly I think Spain has some way to go in those stakes...

You obviously don't understand how comedy works- The strawberry comment is not funny and is not meant to be- so how is it relevant?

Of course it was meant to be funny. Everyone understands that no amount of eating something will turn you into that item. My mum didn’t say it as a threat, but as a silly comment to elicit laughter. Which it did.

MidnightMeltdown · 09/10/2025 11:34

I think that you are looking at this from a woman’s perspective. I believe that many (or maybe most?) women need more than simple physical appearance to be attracted to someone. Men are different. They are much more visual. They may not want a relationship with a 15 year old, but they will be attracted to them, and would no doubt sleep with them if there were no consequences.

That's unfair, plenty of men know it's morally wrong to sleep with a 15yo as an adult.

Yep I agree. When I was at school, there were a number of girls aged 14-16 (maybe 9 or 10 of them over the time I was there) who had flings with older men. Some of them had one with a teacher, or the school janitor, or the school gardener. One girl was 14 when she got pregnant by the school janitor, and he was a 37 year old married man. He already had 7 children by his 2 wives. (3 with one, 4 with the other - who he was still married to.) His second wife was 10 years younger.

He left his (second) wife, for this girl and moved into a flat with her. The second wife divorced him for adultery. He married the girl when she was 18, and she was pregnant with their third child on the day they got married. So 10 children at this point. He was about 41 by now.

I moved out of the town soon after, and saw him some 10 years later, when he was in his early 50s, and he was with a different woman again. My friend with me knew his 'new' fling a bit, and she was 23 and had had 2 children with him at that point. She had one 2 months after she was 16, which means she was pregnant at 15. Utterly grim. He looked like a skinny Frank from Shameless too. Always looked dirty, with greasy hair, and was often drunk. (So he acted like Frank too. I don't think he worked again after he was sacked from the school for getting a 14 year old girl pregnant!)

How on earth he managed to get all these girls/young women to marry him just baffles me. So does the fact that he has NEVER been charged with having sex with under age girls!

Yes my grandmother was pretty sure at least one man at the school she taught at was having 'relationships' with the girls. Apparently no one reported him..

Incidentally in Anne of Green Gables, I remember that the 16yo Priscilla is in a relationship with the teacher & it doesn't seem to be a big deal.. 🤢 1908 Canada..

MidnightMeltdown · 09/10/2025 11:10

Exactly. ‘Adulthood’ has been socially constructed. From a biological perspective, they are adults at 12 or 13 when they start menstruating. I imagine that this is when they start to appeal to most men.

12....so that makes Humbert Humbert not a paedophile for being attracted to poor Lolita...

Not convinced by what you say...

RingoJuice · 09/10/2025 11:06

They are adults in many cultures. In Western cultures, adolescence was being recognized as a separate life stage but this is a relatively new development.

Yes, imo an adult man dating a 16yo is 🤮 but it was legal to marry at that age until recently.

I think the answer to this question is both better and worse than you'd like to hear. Men are basically attracted to anyone who seems within the ages that women are able to make babies. So that's both younger than is socially acceptable (as soon as girls hit puberty) and later than is generally thought (incels who tell you 30 is the limit are a decade or two too low)

Should be remembered that 'sleep with' is very different to 'be with'- especially for men.

BigAnne · 09/10/2025 20:41

sundaychairtree · 08/10/2025 21:38

Dont be silly a woman of 18 or 19 is not a child!! Of course nen are sexually attracted to women in tbe prime of their fertility andv health and thus Most able to make and birth healthy children. That is not perverted its a Perfectly normal evolutionary biological urge.

I think they're attracted to them because they're bodies haven't birthed children and not that they'd produce healthy ones.

PrincessSophieFrederike · 09/10/2025 20:33

Walt Bismarck is a right wing Substack acquaintance of Mary Harrington (which is how I found out about him). I don't like him at all, he clearly has an unpleasant attitude to women, & he's a former white nationalist who still seems somewhat racist.

This excerpt from a piece on early female puberty, is, however, pinpointing something which unpleasant men are usually wise enough not to say. Bismarck, however, has no filter.

Sadly, I think that what he's saying is probably not that far from how a lot of men think - certainly more men than we'd like to believe.

'One thing I’ve noticed talking to various female friends / girlfriends over the years is that basically all of them complain about having been sexualized as a preteen girl in a very traumatic way. Usually these stories involve a sleepover / pool party at a friend’s house and creepy behavior from said friend’s dad or older brother. The other big one is being ogled or catcalled at Target or something.
It seems very obvious to me what is happening here.Girls are getting their periods and developing secondary sexual characteristics (boobs) 1-3 years earlier than they “should be” biologically. But they can’t psychologically handle the stresses of incipient womanhood (menstruation, intrasexual competition, sexual attention from men) because they still have the mind of a little girl.
Most men aren’t going to touch this with a ten foot pole, because whenever you point out this phenomenon around normies you inevitably get some hatchet-faced schoolmarm going “WELL MEN SHOULDN’T BE LOOKING AT YOUNG GIRLS ANYWAY” and implying you’re a pedophile for even talking about this. Men are extremely afraid of being called pedophiles, so this shuts down all discussion.
Most of these women are simply retarded low openness bigots, but some are just reacting to their own adolescent trauma in an unproductive way, and I have a lot of sympathy for them. But this kind of censorious impulse is incredibly toxic and doesn’t help young girls at all. When trying to solve difficult social problems on the ground we must speak candidly about the world that actually exists, not the world that should be.
A lot of girls complain about creepy looks from their friend’s dad at a pool party. Suspiciously few of them wonder if anyone says the same thing about their own dad.If they did I think they’d start approaching this from a more constructive direction.
Unfortunately, normies don’t really care about arguments and facts. They care about personal credibility and a position’s prestige coding.'

People don't actually understand humour. If it were true it wouldn't be funny, or even a joke. It's funny because it's an outrageous thing to say.

They may be but middle aged men are rarely healthy (thinking of all the fat middle aged blokes I know ) & their sperm won't be in as good nick as it was when they were 18/19. Why would most young women look twice?

You're missing the point.
