DP’s reaction to my PT posting progress pictures

I’ve lost nearly two stone since starting with a PT earlier this year and with my agreement, he posted progress photos of me which I was tagged in on social media.

I felt really proud of my progress and was happy to share the results - I’d never have had the confidence to do so previously so it was a big thing for me.

My partner got really funny when he saw it - said things like that shouldn’t be for other peoples eyes, his family will see me ‘partially dressed’ and he thought it was generally inappropriate.

It has really soured what was a big thing for me. Does anyone see where he’s coming from or am I right to feel a bit put out by his reaction?

I’m on the fence only ever see posts like this as a marketing tactic. Did you get a discount for using them? It’s a bit exploitative imo
I bet l more people say no than yes.

No I was happy with them being posted for my own reasons and if it helps his business out too, then brilliant as he has done a lot for me.

Would you walk around the house when staying with his relatives, or with his relatives staying at yours in the same clothes as you’re wearing in the pictures?

If you would, fair play. And he’s being daft.

If you wouldn’t, then I can see how he’s slightly perturbed by you posting those pictures for general public view online.

No I wouldn’t, alluding to @Gizlotsmum’s reasoning.

I hope he paid you for using your images to promote his business. Seems a bit exploitative to me.

I wear clothes to the gym ( and pole class) I wouldn’t wear at home in front of in-laws but I have also worn a swimming costume around them in an appropriate setting, it’s all about context really

Agree with scary monster. If you are in normal clothes I think it’s fine. Underwear - I can understand his point.

GandTtwice · 08/10/2025 17:49

Well done OP on your brilliant achievement - you are right to feel proud of yourself and celebrate this. It sounds like he's either jealous of your success or concerned that now other men might find you attractive (and that you might leave him)

YANBU. Watch out OP your dp will be trying to sabotage your progress next!

Gizlotsmum · 08/10/2025 17:48

He should be proud of you. Ask him why he isn’t proud and supportive!

YodasHairyButt · 08/10/2025 17:47

He’s being a prat.
