To feel like the tide of public opinion has turned against the pro-palestine protestors

Every social media feed I have is full of irate people commenting on pro-gaza protestors.

From people commenting on Greta Thunberg sharing the picture of the starving hostage and claiming it was a Palestinian (wtf was she thinking?!) , to the student saying Israelis should 'go back where they came from', there are thousands of angry comments. Lots of the protestors hiding their faces too, and on a local Uni group people are trying to name the protestors seen today and get them removed from their courses

I'm disgusted with what I've seen today, and it feels like the tide is turning and people are seeing these protests for what they really are: an opportunity for hate-filled morons to get together and intimidate people. I feel like they've completely ruined their cause just because they couldn't wait a day to protest.

A lot of 7/10 families actually now protest against the Israeli government.

Im very aware. I have friends and family in Israel. A lot of Israelis frequently protest against the Israeli government, and Netanyahu is desperate to keep this war going because he was in big political trouble before.

But Im interested in why you told me that. Because it sounds like you have just implied that empathy for bereaved families, and respecting their right to grieve, is the same thing as supporting Netanyahu. You weren't suggesting that, were you?

I think it's the opposite. I think people are waking up to the fact that Netenyahu is committing war crimes and committing genocide against an innocent people.

Not supporting Israel's need to destroy Palestine is not anti-Semitic. I think it's anti-Semitic to suggest that all Jewish people are okay with what is happening in their name. Many, many Jewish people have spoken out against Israel's tyranny and do not want war crimes happening in their names.

Supporting innocent people in Palestine is not supporting Hamas.

This with bells on!!!! ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️

Nope they are most definitely not getting behind peace at all, and they won’t until every last Israeli has been removed entirely (preferably from the planet)

Their agenda has never been achieving ‘peace’. They detest Jewish people and want Israel eradicated. I am surprised at the number of people that are not aware of this.

drama much? Stop the genocide means stop the genocide, not create another FFS. This is why no-one can take the pro-Israeli mob seriously.

I think that it is deplorable that anyone would use something as awful as a terror attack on Jews as an excuse to undermine objections to genocide.

The protesters were singing "from the mountains to the sea" basically glorifying the extermination of jews. That has fuck all to do with genocide in Gaza. I'm not jewish nor muslim but I'm against Hamas and Netanyahu. Anyone who glorifies either one of them has blood on their hands in my book, and that's what the protesters are doing singing Hamas hymns.

That’s just awful, how could you use that image.

It was part of a montage illustrating how palestinians were being mistreated by Israel, there's a screenshot on another thread, I expect the denials later if it becomes a bigger news story.

On other threads about this topic the pro-Israeli posters have been very open in saying that they believe some human lives have more value than others.

I have been very active on these boards and have never, ever seen anyone say any human life is worth more than any other human life. On either side.

A few people have said the same as me here.

Why are you making it up?

'I have never understood why they aren't stop the war or peace marches.'

There are - in every city every week but people are choosing to call them antisemitic or pro-Palestine - rather than what they are, a call to the end of the 'war' that Israel have launched, a call for the end of genocide, a call for peace.

I've witnessed several and at all of them I've heard the 'from the river to the sea' chant and only seen Palestine flags

HappyGolmore2 · 08/10/2025 09:12

I deliberately read news from outlets I don't agree politically or morally with - otherwise you do get stuck in an algorithm bubble where all your views are reflected back at you...

I would imagine the marches in Manchester in particular have gone down like a cup of cold sick after the killings, in light of the Islamic terrorist suicide bombing of Manchester Arena not so many years ago.
Lets face it it’s not Jewish people running around killing and injuring people in this country is it.

ThatLadyLady · 08/10/2025 09:10

Ketzele · 08/10/2025 09:04

Slick bit of victim-blaming there.

Quick question: what do you think the bereaved families of Manchester, and the bereaved families of 7th October, would have wanted? And why can't their wishes be respected, for just one day?

A lot of 7/10 families actually now protest against the Israeli government.

Thunberg and her silly grinning flotilla pals actually using an image of Evyatar David on one of their publicity fliers sums up many of the pro pal groups. They have not got a clue, it's all about the clicks and the tiktok clips.

Hosting pro pal events on Oct 7th was despicable but sadly unsurprising, many people have no compassion at all. How many times have we all seen 'Oct 7th was horrid but...'.

We can only hope this is all ending soon and the marchers can move on to their next tiktok production.

That’s just awful, how could you use that image.

CrossChecking · 07/10/2025 23:12

I think that right from the beginning some people wanted people to believe that they are 'hate marches', nothing much has changed, those who support Israel will never like people speaking out against them and try to silence them however they can. People who are pro Palestinian are aware of this and have been from the beginning, they know how much Israels fans loathe them and that they hate how successful the education campaign has been around Israels appalling behaviour. It's par for the course that if you support Palestines right to exist and Palestinians right to live free from occupation that you will be called names. It's water off a ducks back at this stage for most.

They are hate marches though. They are shouting for death.
Everyone can see it, whichever side, even if on no side.

IsEveryUserNameBloodyTaken · 08/10/2025 09:00

salterer · 07/10/2025 23:03

It's the complete opposite. Fewer and fewer people are supporting Israel as, unsurprisingly, most people are against genocide.

No I think it’s just you and a few other pro Hamas supporters who are trying to drum up business on here claiming all is well with your cause.
We see you.

Really strange that I've started a thread on the disgusting behaviour of protesters who are acting this way in public and on camera because I dislike it and have noticed that they are being widely condemned and disparaged in a way that wouldn't have happened even a couple of months ago?

Sadly no foreign government paid me for this post (would have been nice with Christmas coming though)

Aye I must have miss the posting on Indeed for the job spot.
All opinions all my own.(but sentiments shared by others elsewhere).

overwhelmedsinglema · 08/10/2025 08:49

@HappyGolmore2if this is the case why aren’t they protesting to also put pressure on Hamas to release hostages?

EmpressoftheMundane · 08/10/2025 08:39

Israel is a foreign country. The Jews being intimidated, harassed, and killed in the UK are our fellow citizens and our direct responsibility.

Free speech is critical, but choosing to march masked, shouting, etc. on the anniversary of 07/10 right after antisemitic murders looks more like hate speech. These marches aren’t people holding candles and flowers singing hymns!

👏

I now want to see the police and courts come down on this like a tonne of bricks.

I want to see tough sentences and custody for repeat offenders.

I want them charged with racially aggravated disorder and harassment, and the full force of the law activated.

We have an opportunity now to spell it out to the racists in this country that we will not, and will never accept anti semitism in any form.

Edited

Shutting down public protest is the first step to a facist state. It's no 1. in the playbook.

Mumbletoomuch · 07/10/2025 22:37

I don’t think the tide is turning. Lots of pro-Israeli propaganda and money flowing into social media and forums to try to drown out the truth and give the illusion of a change in tide? Yeah, that’s happening. All over mumsnet at the minute. Strange, isn’t it? There’s multiple subtle pro-Israeli threads daily at the minute. Really strange.

Or you’re wrong about that, tide is turning.
Im sorry that’s not what you want to happen but people are making their own mind up about the terrorists in our midst and abroad.
