Jews leaving the UK

Ihatetomatoes · 06/10/2025 10:42

I dont blame them. I would if I were Jewish.

They have been failed by their country, which is the UK. I wish them well and hope the UK can sort its anti semitism problems so it becomes safe for Jewish people again.

@decenteringmen do you know what Zionism means? It just means believing that Israel should exist. Not that you approve of Netanyahu, or the current war, or the actions of the government. It just means the belief that the country should exist.

Do you believe there are any other countries that should cease to exist?

And assuming you believe Israel should, what do you believe should happen to the Jews living there currently?

I said it was all the starving children and genocide that got on peoples tits. Apparently that's ignorant and antisemitic.

When you say “people have become Jew-haters” or connect Jewish identity to the actions of the Israeli government, that’s where it slips into antisemitism.
Criticising the Israeli government or calling out war crimes isn’t antisemitic — blaming or generalising about Jews as a group is. If you don't get that, then I can't help you, and if you don't agree, then I'm not going to change my position that this is antisemitic.

Well why aren’t the 2 billion Muslims worldwide doing more for the Palestinians? Including all the surrounding countries, some of whom are actually really rich? Why are they not taking in their own? Rather than funding hate campaigns in the West?

So Israel wouldn't have to commit genocide, if only surrounding countries would take all the Palestinians? Since they won't, Israel will have to kill and starve them, but that's other countries' fault?

Do you criticise/protest the actions of Saudi Arabia? Congo? Syria? Russia? Sudan? Only Israel? The only Jewish country in the world? That’s your answer. Hope that helps.

10 x the amount of people killed in Gaza have been slaughtered in Yemen. Where are the people marching in protest of that? They're awfully quiet.

Yes I do. I criticise genocide anywhere and everywhere it happens.

So how do we criticise/protest the actions of the Israeli government without having accusations of antisemitism thrown at us? It doesn’t seem possible at the moment.

YES IT IS

Who are you talking to? It can't be me, I have literally no idea what you're talking about. I've never said you can't be outraged at genocide - I agree, AS A JEW, that it is genocide.

As a Jew born in Btitain I do not feel safe. The antisemitism is endemic.
The marches are hateful, the BBC is biased & won't even call Hamas terrorists & will broadcast death chants to Jews, & I'm scared to use the NHS because of antisemitism.

Don't even ask me to about the antisemitism that I have experienced in our schools & universities. How do we pick a university for our children when the campuses are not safe for Jewish students? That is why we are talking about leaving our homes & country of birth, for our children's safety & future. So very sad 😔

I am so, so sorry that you are made to feel that way, @Honeycottage. It's completely wrong, and I do feel for you. Sending hugs xxx 💐

Listen I wouldn't accept my nearest and using the famine as justification to join the ira so I don't think it's right to accept the persecution of Jewish people as justification for what's happening in Gaza. People have free will. You can heal and stop perpetuating hatred

But if you were to join the IRA with the great hunger as your justification that would be about revenge.

Jewish people train to defend their homeland from future threat, one which has always been pretty severe from all angles.

your comparison is like Isreal bombing the shit out of Germany because they’re still traumatised and and vengeful.

Stop using anti-semitic tropes

legrandcolbert · 06/10/2025 14:55

Why don't gazans have a right to safety in their homes? Why do their children not deserve the same safety as my children?

I think you really need to ask Hamas and Gaza about this directly. They could have ensured a very different path had Oct 7 massacre and hostage taking happened. They could have protected their homes, not to mention their children by handing the hostages back.

Barnbrack · 06/10/2025 14:55

Bambamhoohoo · 06/10/2025 14:50

You’re not really responding to the specific conversation between our posts which was about why jews moving to Israel might look ant it as a honour or obligation to defend the homeland through conscription.

it’s nothing to do with Ireland or famine- it’s about why something that seems so negative to us might be viewed positively by some Jewish people, particularly those who chose to move to Israel.

1- I'm 100% NOT ignorant of the current and past situation in Israel /Gaza.
2- being outraged at genocide and starving/dead children isn't anti-semetic, however you like to push it.

Any ideas where Palestinians who don't feel safe in Gaza should go to?
Asking for a friend....

You realise this is entirely on those who live in Gaza and who voted Hamas in? I do not think you have a single idea how much those who live in Gaza hate Jews, especially Israeli Jews. The are happy to use their own citizens, their own kin, their own children as human shields. Not one single Gazan would give up a single hostage or say where they were being hidden. Even in Nazi Germany, some Germans helped hid/save Jews.

There is a reason why Egypt have a high wall to get Gazans out. They don't want them. Gazans are too entrenched with radical Islam, a death cult.

I think you are also forgetting that Israel handed back Gaza, fleeing the strip. Gaza was prosperous, had green and glasshouses full of flowers and oranges to sell. That was some of their main exports. They also were given billions in foreiga aid. And what did Gazand do? Voted in Hamas who stole all the aid to line their pockets while they lived in Egypt, Qatar (to name a few places) and methodically stripped Gaza of any assets while building tunnels under the strip that are more expansive than the London Underground. From day one, Gaza was lobbing missiles into Israel and have done so ever since. Gaza are the ones constantly starting wars and they have no issue using their own citizens as collateral damage. Israel warn in advance of any missiles or attacks, they also drop aid. Gaza and Hamas do not do anything to help their own, they only use them to destroy Jews.

Wake up. For Gazans, this is not and has never been about them being safe. They will use their own to rid the world of Jews and Israels.

Instead of posting on here, maybe go to your local library or bookshop and buy yourself a copy of 'On Democracies and Death Cults. Israel, Hamas, and the Future of the West' by Douglas Murray. It will answer why your question is moot, and a whole lot more.

Oh, and a reminder to those who hear chants of 'Globalize the Intifada” at these so-called peaceful protests. It absolutely means killing Jews. Not so peaceful after all.

wrongthinker · 06/10/2025 14:50

There is no genocide.

I've posted this article a number of times on different threads. It's a long read about the way in which the idea of a 'genocide' in Gaza has been manufactured and spread around the world. There are LOADS of links and references in it, all of which can be followed back to their sources. (It very much reminds me of the way 'men can be women' became an "established fact" supported by institutions around the world, despite the obvious truth.)

I don't think any of the pro-Palestine people on these threads have ever read it or even clicked through to have a skim. But honestly, they really should, because it's well-researched, clearly argued, and thoroughly evidenced. And if you read it and disagree, then great - rebutt the evidence and arguments to the same level and I'll listen to you with an open mind. But funny enough, no one has ever even tried.

Do people just ignore the famine and displacement of the Irish people? Or believe other international events are comparable?

My question is simply whether that displacement and persecution should be used as justification to carry out the level of devastation being seen in Gaza?

Noone here is suggesting Jewish people be taken from Israel are they? I know I'm personally questioning both the way the situation in Gaza is being handled and genuine thought behind suggesting Israel is so under threat yet also so much safer than London.

Also those saying at least Israel protects its citizens? But does it? It's the level of apartment self defence to the point of it being an offensive rather than defensive action at this point I'm questioning.

Why don't gazans have a right to safety in their homes? Why do their children not deserve the same safety as my children?

The two Jewish families I know with dual nationality have left Israel for the U.K. because they cannot live with good conscience under their government there. They are both very secular and non practicing though, could be different. Neither have experienced antisemitism in the U.K. but again they don’t live “Jewish lives” so don’t stand out, perhaps others have more struggles

I feel sick reading some of these posts. Jewish people should feel safe and Israel has a right to exist - as does Palestine.

I feel the same. Replies like “what more do you want?”, going on about “Zionists” as if they were fair game, even going as far as likening moving to Israel with joining ISIS…

Why do you feel the need to do so? Do you protest against any other oppressive regimes? Are you out protesting about the Afghan government anytime soon? No, thought not.

How many people killed this month by the Afghan regime? How many by Israel? How many children murdered in each area awaiting aid? How much international aid blocked in each region?

The isreali state is the only one that has such strong ties to a single faith - that means that peope
see Jewish and Israeli as interchangeable and we certainly incarcerated all Italians and poles in the Second World War

that’s how things work - don’t act dumb

Thats how things work for Anti-semites.

Italy has strong ties to Roman Catholicism. We didn't imprison all Catholics during WW2. You would have to go back to the 1600's or something for that kind of thinking.
