I have an essay to write
I would rather practice my piano
I don't want to work any more
I want to sit under a blanket and watch Netflix
I am so over this working for a living lark

Why else don't you want to go to work tomorrow?

I don't want to go to work tomorrow because I'm expecting to hear about an interview date for another job. I struggle with change and although I think doing this interview/potentially getting a new job is good for me and my career, I'm terrified of succeeding.

Work9to5 · 05/10/2025 17:50

I hate what I'm doing at the moment.

Needs must so just have to plod on.

Tupperwarelid · 05/10/2025 17:48

i really dislike the people I work with and am sick of being the person people only come to with their problems.
i want to binge watch House of Guinness on Netflix.
my son is playing a gig near us tomorrow night and I want to spend time with him instead.

socks1107 · 05/10/2025 17:42

it’s my first day back after a week in the sun and I’m in denial about it being Monday so quickly

OldMaaa · 05/10/2025 17:40

I don't really like my job.

Sailawaysally · 05/10/2025 17:35

Because I resigned last week and now have to work my 3 months notice. No chance of garden leave as the company is already understaffed. It’s going to be a long three months…

Bobbieiris · 05/10/2025 17:34

Because it’s only my second day back after a years maternity leave and I would rather be at home with my babies
because it’s been a busy weekend and I want to have a relaxing day
because the house is a state and there’s huge mountains of washing and ironing to do and I want to sort it out
because I can’t be arseddddd

readinglizzie · 05/10/2025 17:33

Because I'm a primary TA and the work I'm expected to do far exceeds my pay, but if I say no the kids lose out. There are no jobs around so I can't leave.
I want to stay home and bake, knit, crochet and read. I wish I could afford to retire, no chance of that for a long time to come.

Adelle79360 · 05/10/2025 17:30

I just can’t cope with the stress of my job any longer. I feel anxious constantly and can’t see any way out other than actually quitting, which I’d love to do but I need money. I don’t enjoy it any more, I’ve lost all motivation, and I hate the clients.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 05/10/2025 17:26

The weekends are just flying by at the moment. Always seems like no time from Friday eve to Sunday pm

MaggieBsBoat · 05/10/2025 17:26

Because my boss is lazy and inept and I’m not paid enough to clear up his messes on the daily.

notthatoldyet · 05/10/2025 17:26

because I spent the weekend recovering from tonsillitis, while DP had a massive frustrating phone call with his ex regarding their DC so our sex life and elusive childfree weekend time together was shafted. She doesn't see the point in their DC having to resit GCSE English, as she has no concerns with his English ability despite he needs to do it to stay in 6th form, which he scraped into, and that any future employer worth their salt won't look at anything less than a 5.

Thmssngvwlsrnd · 05/10/2025 17:26

Because my manager is a stuck-up idiot who is annoying me so much I wake up in the night getting angry about all the things she says that are simply lies. She is also pushing more work on to me, saying she has too much work herself, but no one knows what she is actually doing. I can't stand her and I'm so unhappy, but there are no jobs around that I can apply for at the moment. Just the thought of seeing her tomorrow makes me want to cry.

GreyPearlSatin · 05/10/2025 17:23

...because two days is not enough to do all my chores, enjoy my time off, rest and recover for another week of draining my cognitive energy so I can pay the bills while having no mental energy left for the things I really want to do.

Oh how I remember those days. Every single year… freshers flu. Just when you need to be on top of your game. And the ever increasing workload because of a no replacement, no recruitment policy. Still, it’s a distant memory now I’m 10 years into retirement. For the first 5 years or so waking up was bliss. A holiday every long day stretching ahead. Now it’s just normal. But wonderful. Look forward to it and make it happen as soon as you can.

Thank you 🙏 I intend to finish early-mid 50s if I can, I do love (most of) my job but I certainly don't live to work (as academia will doubtless try to have it)!
So pleased you are happily retired, I can't wait to get there I won't lie...

Mmmcheese89 · 05/10/2025 17:16

Because I'm going to have to be a bus wanker as my bike needs servicing.

I have an audit to do.

I'm bored.

cobrakaieaglefang · 05/10/2025 17:14

I want to be with Ddog, I don't want to deal with work drama, the man-child part-timer, the twat RM or customers. I really don't care and not paid enough to care either. I want forest walks, beach walks, do training stuff with her and not deal with people.

Biscoffbiscuits · 05/10/2025 17:13

SnippySnappy · 05/10/2025 15:23

I have fresher's flu (as do all of my colleagues, courtesy of the incoming freshers!) and anything involving movement or thought feels like walking through treacle!

I don't want to go to work tomorrow
which is as just as well since
Tomorrow is my day off

Cherrysoup · 05/10/2025 17:07

I’ve decided that this is my last year and I feel a bit like I see light at the end of the tunnel, but it’s going to be full steam ahead, absolutely so much to do and it’s me that has to do most of it. I literally work non-stop, generally at least 2 extra hours a day, as do other people, I know, but I’m not paid overtime and I don’t seem to have any time alone bar running for a super quick bathroom break. I’d feel really guilty if I took lunch.

DareMe · 05/10/2025 16:55

Because my manager is one of the most controlling, dictating, manipulative, disingenuous people I’ve ever had the misfortune to meet.

I feel for you, I had one like that just over 20 years ago and although that is an age ago, I have never forgotten. I loved that job and had agreat manager who left for another rold. Along came "madam" as I used to think of her who started to micromange our team, made us hot desk (there was no need), put the small team on a bonkers rota where we all were assigned a number at the start of each week and had to do tasks designated for that number, changed everything for the sake of change and knew very little about the issues our service users faced and just thought they could be "told what to do" and was amazed when this did not work. One year in and the whole thing fell apart and I left for a new job.

LizardArm · 05/10/2025 17:00

Because someone has gone off long term sick, someone else is on maternity and I’m expected to pick up all their work as well as my own.

because I’m exhausted and would really rather be sat on the sofa watching Netflix

because I hate the fact I make the cunty bastards richer

MrsNadjaCravensworth · 05/10/2025 17:00

I work part-time and am not in until Thursday, but I won't want to go to work because it's exhausting and badly paid. I just want to stop work completely.
