People who don’t flush the toilet after using

Ifo · 05/10/2025 12:56

95% of the time, there is nothing wrong with the flush as flushed the toilets myself.

I knew the concept of flushing after using the toilet since I was about 4 years old!

Many people go into cubicles, see that the toilet hasn’t been flushed, and go to another one. Just flush and use that toilet.

Most of the time when entering toilets that not been flushed, it’s a poo 💩. Sometimes it takes a second flush to get rid of it

I should not be seeing other people’s excrement

At home I will leave a wee intra-day as it’s practically water, but never in the morning or before bed. At work never, ever and I’ll stand and wait for the cistern to refill rather than leave for someone else.

We (women’s toilet) have a disgusting article that shits up the pan and leaves it. It’s taken months to narrow her down (I was apparently eliminated from the investigation early due to length of service 🤣), but she is now on the Most Wanted list.

This is a loo that has brushes, toilet duck, signs on doors the lot. That takes some bloody nerve.

Always flush in public toilets but some cysteines take blooming ages to refill. If I’m in a pub and I know there’s a queue I’ll jus go out tell the person waiting the flusher don’t work and I’ve only had a wee 🙈
At home my tightwad husband has started moaning about being on a water meter alongside the price of with electric and gas-When ever anyone goes into the toilet he starts chanting

if it’s yellow let it mellow
if it’s brown flush it down
I still flush the toilet as it’s me who’ll have to scrub the stains and I love to wind him up 😂

I had been out with a friend and we went back to her house. I went to the bathroom and the toilet was disgusting, poo marks all round the bowl, even some poo on the back of the seat. I had to grit my teeth and use it as I was bursting! She went in after me and apologised for the mess, she said she usually goes in after her husband has a poo to clean up after him. He's a highly educated, professional, arrogant 50 year old man.

Wtf! She needs to get photo evidence of this and threaten him that next time he leaves his shit a picture will go out in the family WhatsApp group. Then 2nd time to workmates. But I would have ltb long time ago. It's such a lack of respect: here darling clean my shit. Disgusting

Maybe they're saving water. I don't always flush after a wee at home.
Frequently used to hear "if it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down."

I find that utterly disgusting. I'm at war with DS15 (asd) who never flushes after a pee because he finds it disgusting to touch the flush (so he says and he's got ocd so I believe him). Luckily he does flush poo. But if you leave pee it smells bad, especially morning pee. So I go after him complaining.. now if he heard some environmental arguments I might as well give up the battle..

scalt · 05/10/2025 17:17

They’re saving water, ‘cos climate change, innit.

Itiswhysofew · 05/10/2025 17:15

For me, it's not about it not having been flushed. It's because if you flush the unflushed toilet, then you use it, there won't be sufficient time for it to refill for you to flush when you've used it. You'll then be leaving an unflushed toilet, which to me is dreadful.

A colleague once mentioned that she cringes when she gets unexpected callers at home as if they need to use the loo she can’t be certain her kids have left it clean and flushed. Her “kids” are in their 20s, highly educated and no additional needs.

If you flush the loo before using it yourself, the cistern won’t have filled by the time you need to flush it again, so if you’re in a rush you end up leaving it unflushed again. Bit of a vicious circle.

It's disgusting, there's some dirty bastards out there!. I went to use the toilets in the supermarket earlier this week and there was shit on the floor.

I realised (too late!) that there was a turd on the floor of a lift in M&S once! I had to report it so it could be sorted, which was very embarrassing!

A friend works for a supermarket and often has to lock the toilet with a padlock on latch as someone keeps leaving poo 💩 on the floor. Unsure if it’s the same same culprit.

Then her DS works for Wickes and probably a couple times a year, someone does a poo 💩 in the display toilets which are not plumbed in! Plus have to do this with other people walking around! 😳😱

My mum used to do that in her house and it smelled like a sewer.

Well mine thankfully doesn't. I drink a lot so my wee isn't concentrated and doesn't smell.

How many times, how many minutes are you prepared to wait!.

I’ve never left a toilet with either shit or skid marks after me. I flush as often as is necessary.

I’d flush more than twice, for starters.

im not a plumber , i cant fix a defective toilet.
What would you do, wait around all day flushing it!

Edited

Bagsintheboot · 05/10/2025 16:06

This is what should be done. Otherwise you end up with toilets de-facto out of order.

If i go into a loo that hasnt had a successful flush this is what i do!

Bagsintheboot · 05/10/2025 16:06

Clychaugog · 05/10/2025 13:44

Perhaps the thing to do would be give it a flush AND go to a different cubicle. Hopefully by the time the next person comes along the third party jobby would have gone and enough time would have passed to refill the cistern

When at home I don't always flush after a wee as it saves water. I live alone so no one else has to see it. Obviously I always do after a poo and after either if using a public toilet.

My mum used to do that in her house and it smelled like a sewer.

bruffin · 05/10/2025 12:57

I suspect they flushed buts its not worked and you have to wait ages for ut to flush again.

100% this. Many public labs are barely fit for purpose in this respect

sammylady37 · 05/10/2025 15:40

bruffin · 05/10/2025 13:56

If i have to give up ie waited two flushes and still not working , i put the lid down and leave it
