To think it's inappropriate to constantly kiss and snog on public transport?

The couple on the train infront of me have barely stopped snogging the whole way. Slurpy noises included. It's disgusting. They're in their 50s I would guess. AIBU to feel this way?

I think you’re rIght. It’s exhibitionism. Most people would prefer privacy for more than a brief kiss.

I think there are far worse things people do,
I would find it mildly irritating if they did it throughout the journey. A few kisses- totally fine.
I also would not mind if someone was applying make-up.

I don’t get how having to witness other people’s steamy snogging with sound effects makes you happy.

Would you enjoy watching animals mating? But animals don’t make such a meal of it.

A young couple were doing this in the canteen at Sainsbury's when I worked there. An older member of staff said loudly "for fucks sake get a room!"
They left soon after

Gross. Couple stood snogging for ages at entrance to Farringdon station at 8.45am this morning, super busy but just so not necessary. A peck yes. This was not a peck. Nice they are in love / lust, but we don’t want to see it thanks

You’re confusing sexual love and love of your fellow human. They are different. It’s the latter we need more of really.

In Greek they are ‘eros’ and ‘agape’.

I think DH and I encountered your couple the other day, right in the middle of the pavement.
We had to step into the road to get round them as they were taking up the whole pavement and ignoring our approach.
We rolled our eyes quite a bit. But tbh if they had been sufficiently polite to have moved aside for us I probably would have just thought their ardour was quite sweet.

Yeah, it sounds pretty vile but you know what, the world is a shitty place at times, so perhaps it’s nice to see a bit of love and affection.

in their 50’s I would think can’t you wait until you get home or to your hotel it’s a bit grim

I'm in Brazil, and PDA is very common here, more so among younger people than people in their 50s. I'm 40+, so I would never kiss and snog in public because I think it makes people feel uncomfortable. Apparently, the lovebirds on your train don't share that view. Maybe shift focus to something else?

That's likely because you've been with your DH for 30 years though.

We are in our early 40s. Happily in love in a new-ish relationship. Absolutely snogging in public. Thankfully, most people seem very happy for us (including a bunch of teenagers who cheered us on recently).

Let people have some innocent fun, share in the love and joy. So many people seem so miserable these days it is nice to see others full of joy.

Have you never been so loved up you can’t stop wanting to kiss each other? I think it’s quite reassuring to be that passionate at 50. From reading posts on here I feel all I can hope to look forward to is a cup of tea and the occasional peck on the cheek on my birthday once I hit my 50s.

But that's just you're opinion, lots of things are unnecessary but we still do them and still enjoy it. Having a glass of wine is unnecessary. I'd love to be snogging on a train and I'm 50.
