To be in tears about what Billy Crystal said?

We were on a train and he was really rude about what I’d cooked. It was some sort of cheese casserole. It’s the first time I made it but I thought it tasted ok.

He also took the last seat at the table so I had to sit on my own. He ended up admitting the casserole tasted better than he’d initially thought but it was too late. I was so crushed that I woke up in tears.

I’m no stranger to night time disappointment; Many’s the time I’ve had to have words with DH first thing in the morning because he’s cheated.

But I thought better of Billy.

Don't let it get you down. He's made a career out of it!

Never heard of cheese casserole. I'm a big cheese fan😋

DH was slightly mean to The Dog last night, I can hardly look at him this morning
Being mean to animals is on my redlines list (along with smoking and a beard).

In fact he is a typical Dog Dad who never wanted one and is now besotted in the Waking world

I misread 'waking' for a moment and was very concerned about the relationships in your household... 😂

I will shamelessly seize this opportunity to ask if anyone can interpret a dream I had years ago.

A Wise Woman told me the three secret rules of life:

  1. "Never consort with those in grievous distress." (I wasn’t in distress and didn’t know anyone who was.)
  2. "Never travel in a horse-drawn cart." (I never have, wasn’t planning to and don’t know anyone who's got one.)
  3. "Never go to Budleigh Salterton." (I've never been there, wasn’t planning to go there, and don’t know anyone from there.)

Any thoughts, anyone?

A few dreams? One is understandable, we can all make mistakes. But a FEW? That’s bordering on sleep stalking and is a tad worrying. I think you need help, or a new mattress.

At this point, I think my subconscious hates me. I detest the man. But still, in my dreams, I am married to him.

Theres something in that, I’m sure 🤣

loberoniswhatisaw · 30/09/2025 10:41

I bet Billy is sad today too. He knows he did wrong.

I was going to ask you what a cheese casserole is but I see that was dreamland too!

My mum used to make 'cheese and onion'. It was Cheshire cheese and chopped onion boiled in water. It was a heinous crime against food.

Edited

Thats far more upsetting as an idea than Billy Crystal’s jibes about the casserole.

The Hulk once chased me through my childhood garden with a crossbow while I was wearing a Muppets nightie, and I have never forgiven Mark Ruffalo or Kermit the Frog. Or a particular shade of green.

The other night my husband sold our house and we ended up living in a 1970's decorated (think wooden plastic panelling) house. The bathroom window was wall to ceiling facing a main road so people could see in when you where having a wash/pooh. AND the loft was haunted. I hate him.

viques · 30/09/2025 10:34

Ohhellnooo · 30/09/2025 09:04

Could be worse.

I’ve had a few dreams where I was married to Peter Andre. I can’t stand him IRL. One was a sex dream. It was 5 years ago now and I am still debating therapy as it haunts me.

DH insisted on driving the car through a really busy and congested village, even though he'd gone blind. I persuaded him to let me drive but that meant we had to swap places without letting the frightened cat that was loose in the car, escape!

Earlier I had managed to steal borrow some child's duvet cover, and put the cat in that, but the child's mum insisted on taking it back, even though I promised faithfully to return it. Cow!

This really made me giggle!

Okrr · 30/09/2025 10:24

Exact thing happened to me, except he was called Willy Crystal…oh actually that might be a different type of dream.

AnastasiaBeeverhausen · 30/09/2025 08:45

No idea. It looked a bit like Mac&Cheese but I think I’ve read about cheese casserole in novels.

Well YABU because now I really need to have mac & cheese even though it's only half 10.

Sorry about Billy, though. Totally out of order.

ScrambledSmegs · 30/09/2025 10:20

Cheese casserole looks an awful lot like cauliflower cheese (but with broccoli etc), aka food of the gods, so Billy can do one. Ingrate.

Few months ago I had was intimate with Robson Green in my old school form room. Luckily noone else was in the room so it definitely wasn't a biology or pshe practical...

No idea where Robson came from either but he was really rather talented 😳

I'm sure I remember lots of red top tabloid headlines about Robson being a prolific shagger back in the 90s. So he's obviously still got it!

Think I'd have preferred Jerome 🤣.

AccessSaver · 30/09/2025 10:09

As was said in 'When Harry met Sally' -

That's particularly harsh

I woke up in a foul mood a few years ago having dreamed that my husband had sold our house and bought another without my knowledge or input. The new house had a pink shag pile carpet in the sitting room, with a huge beaten copper chimney piece. I had to tell him that it would take me a few minutes to forgive him...

PinkArt · 30/09/2025 10:03

Look in Billy's defence did he maybe just not think cheese casserole was a suitable train picnic item? Maybe he'd have preferred a tupperware with a ham sandwich and some Hula Hoops in.

Took me a while and I seem to be the only one who thinks that the idea if a cheese casserole is vomit-inducing.

You are not, it sounds gross (Sorry OP!).

To be honest I got my Billy's confused for a second and thought you meant Connolly. I was thinking The Big Yin would never be so rude.

I had a dream once that I was going round a supermarket (not sure my subconscious ever specified which one) pushing a massive trolley with Rick Astley. He was lovely and we had a right laugh. Every time I see him on telly for a split second I believe that we are actual BFFs. Hopefully for both our sakes we never meet in real life.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 30/09/2025 09:59

Yanbu at all babe, what a dick xx

MrsBrambles · 30/09/2025 09:57

You obviously used the wrong cheese. Next time you want to impress Billy go for a dairylee and plastic square cheese casserole with a pringles crust. You'll find it on Nigella's website, it's simple and all done in the micro-war-vey, so super speedy.

WearyAuldWumman · 30/09/2025 09:56

A couple of nights ago, my prof told me that I had to sit another paper before getting my degree parchment.

When I woke up, it took some time before I remembered that I'm now 65. A bit worried though...can't remember where I put my parchment.

whatevenwasthat · 30/09/2025 09:54

Unreal OP, just unreal.

I'm a bit annoyed myself today. last night my child needed unidentified surgery and when I took him into the the theatre, the doctor was eating a charcuterie board on the bed and was annoyed that I'd bought along some individual cheese chunks from Lidl.

BitOutOfPractice · 30/09/2025 09:52

You cannot rely on any celebrity nowadays can you. Well fuck you Billy No Cheese Casserole Crystal and thr Train you ride in on.

More cheese casserole for me!
