YANBU - he’s an absolute knob. The state the USA is in right now and he’s trying to lecture the rest of the world!

YABU - he’s not a twat.

🤣 Did I say London? I believe I said our country.

This thread shows how much people have their heads in the sand!

No, that’s what Trump said. You’re accusing other people of having their heads in the sand, but you’re unaware of the fact that he’s literally said this today.

That we have Sharia law in London?

What are you fools talking about - he's not only discovered the cause of Autism, he's also worked out a cure!
OK, so he's not a doctor but he's very good in the you know what.

haha how could we forget! His medical genius was first established when he suggested we all drink bleach to avoid catching Covid I believe.

Crikeyalmighty · 23/09/2025 20:55

@DdraigGoch sadly I do think he won in this instance

Crikeyalmighty · 23/09/2025 20:54

@itsAforapple exactly - whilst the gun issue is in my opinion a failing on all sides, it’s complicated by how their political system works -

i cannot imagine a single Democrat president going around slagging off other country’s, acting like their shit doesn’t stink, coming out with unsubstantiated medical toss, constantly bigging themselves up

maybe Obama and Biden should just have gone about issuing totally undemocratic ‘executive orders’ - and banned certain types of guns.

lemmein · 23/09/2025 20:50

I hate him even more today after trying to prepay these stupid tariffs for a customers order which took over an hour and 2 calls to the couriers customer services 😡

I realise the man has done far worse but today this is mainly why I hate him - prick!

DdraigGoch · 23/09/2025 20:50

Catterbat · 23/09/2025 18:15

Maybe the ones that disagree with him being a twat think he’s a cunt?

He lacks the warmth or the depth for either.

But you’re doing everything you can avoid the topic at hand, which is what Trump has said and done, and why these things may be cause for grave concern. If you want to make a thread about the failings of US Democratic Presidents over the years, go ahead.

Again, less about what Presidents have or haven’t managed to sort over the years and more about THIS president having the fucking brass neck to lecture other countries at the UN about their ‘failings’ while the
US is in such a state.
he was more bothered about an ESCALATOR not working properly than seemingly anything else. An absolute embarrassment to the USA.

I think it’s important not to automatically jump to “it’s bots.” Because by assuming that everyone thinks the way we do we run the risk of his popularity creeping in unseen and unchallenged.

The fact is that he des have supporters. Millions of them. Fuck knows why, but he does. Enough to have won an election, and there are plenty of states you can go to in the US where the support for and love of trump is overwhelming.

We need to be very aware of that rather than just dismissing the support as “it’s bots.” Because some of it absolutely is real.

Enough to have won an election
That's debatable. There were some suspicious voting patterns, almost as if Elon has been tinkering with the machines.

ForgetMeNotRose · 23/09/2025 20:43

Hahah. I came on MN to start a thread about how annoyed I am about Trump's nonsense around autism. Then saw this thread 😆

What is wrong with them?

Maybe they think that the OP is unreasonable to have only just noticed this! The sad thing is that were he able to run for a third term, or indeed if he manages to manipulate the rules to do so, he would still be elected, he's not alone in how he thinks. Among a large part of the electorate he's very popular because their minds don't extend beyond their own shores.

Crikeyalmighty · 23/09/2025 20:38

@momtoboys I’m not too sure about that - it kind of works differently there unless you have an election period - you don’t have a leader of the opposition as such in the way we do here - just presidential candidates -

TooBigForMyBoots · 23/09/2025 20:37

itsAforapple · 23/09/2025 20:09

Get NATO to pay attention, oh indeed. Pay attention to the fact that a once powerful
ally is now potentially as much of a threat as the ‘enemies’ they were supposed to be worrying about.
I would LOVE to know what Putin has on Trump.

Strings and he's pulling them.

While I dont doubt he has bits and pieces on Trump, his best weapon is Trump's weak mind and massive ego. Trump is easily manipulated by him. Remember the pledge to end the war in Ukraine on day ? Why do you think Trump made such a ridiculous claim? Putin told him.🤷‍♀️

The MAGA idiots are also easily manipulated and paid for by Russia.

Putin owns Trump. Trump is the POTUS. Putin owns the US now.

I was responding to a specific point:

At least we don't have an estimated 393,000,000 guns kicking about and all that entails.. School Shootings on a weekly basis

ETA: Also still waiting for an answer to a question I asked on page one of this thread. But the OP must be busy.

itsAforapple · Today 17:13
It’s getting to the point where he might just be the biggest threat to the safety of the rest of the world, not Russia or China or anyone else

Really? How?

He has said what is on the average working man and women's mind, mass immigration is being overlooked by the governments all over Europe.

Rubbish. The average working man and woman is head and shoulders above Trump (and Farage) in terms of empathy and understanding.

JHound · 23/09/2025 20:34

itsAforapple · 23/09/2025 20:27

San Francisco unfortunately has been like that for 10+ years, but the other cities, it just wasn’t as bad. As a European there’s something really unsettling and upsetting about seeing people
in such need of help, medical and the rest, and distress in the richest country in the world just being left in the streets. And yes, it’s frightening too because seeing people off their faces and unpredictable is frightening .

I remember that in NYC. Riding the subway in the early hours and the amount of elderly homeless riding the train to keep warm.

I was struck by how different that was to anything I had experienced in any Western European country I had been to.
Since homelessness in the UK seems to have spiked but nothing like what I saw back then.

momtoboys · 23/09/2025 20:33

Crikeyalmighty · 23/09/2025 20:20

@WeaselCheeks100% totally agree - I do partly have to blame the democrats though - quite clearly Biden ( who seemed a very steady amiable and intelligent guy -an old fashioned diplomat with class) was not well or up to it anymore , so they ended up substituting last minute with Harris who in my opinion was a very poor speaker going on about peace and joy all the time - now I’m no right winger , but that won’t cut it outside of very very particular areas and demographics in a country with major issues socially and economically . They had far more able candidates who I think could have cut through and done us all a favour , but blew it by dilly dallying .

And the scary thing is that the democrats have no reasonable leading contender to run against him next election cycle. If they did they would be pushing that person out in front of every camera they can.

MotherofPearl · 23/09/2025 20:33

LaurelBush · 23/09/2025 20:28

Not really. If you criticise a Republican president for not changing firearm laws, you've really got to look at what Democrat presidents did about them.

Clinton banned assault rifles

For 10 years. And it didn't ban ones that were already in existence.

DdraigGoch · 23/09/2025 20:30

LaurelBush · 23/09/2025 17:53

You can''t blame the guns on Trump. I don't recall any Democrat presidents getting rid of them either?

could you clarify, “off their faces and unpredictable”.

Who do you mean? …….

itsAforapple · 23/09/2025 20:29

There is a precedent for a 3rd term, and I have no doubt that the MAGA team behind Trump will be thinking about every way to justify having that 3rd term due to ‘extraordinary’ circumstances.

Sure, until he decides to ride roughshod over that. Supported by his horned helmet wearing loons.

Unless the country is at war and he can declare a state of emergency and cancel the next election, I think. But I might be wrong about that.
