Bull shit. My ds was invited to a study for the MMR when he was born. It was clearly explained that all of the dc would receive at the minimum, the guidelines, but that some would receive the new combination.

After much discussion, we chose not to participate but the trial did go ahead and we were sent a report of the findings. The schedule was changed as a result of this trial.

You don't honestly think that licensed drugs are cooked up in a lab and given to the public with no testing? Or that schedules are changed on a whim?

I'm glad you're happy with the schedule the way it is and think everything is very safe and there are no long term side effects. That's ok. I am curious and I'm looking forward to further information.

So the only side effects from any vaccine are sore arm, high temperature, tummy upset and mood changes? Those are the only side effects that can ever come from a vaccine? It would be good if that were true but we don't really know.

I wonder how long the studies monitored after the shot. I wonder if some side effects take longer than a few days to emerge. All these things would be great to find out and contribute to long term safety data. The schedule has also gone from a small number of shots in 1986, then, when the manufacturers could no longer be sued for injury, the schedule has swelled to what it is today. That whole combination of shots has never been tested together.

No, we think that work has already been done and few to no side effects have been found. Just because it doesn't make it to mainstream media/nightly news at six doesn't mean the work hasn't been done/isn't being done.

Well, we shall see I guess

MeTooOverHere · 26/09/2025 23:22

MySweetMaggie · 26/09/2025 23:20

So you think any further, correct information on side effects given to parents is a bad thing as it may result in fewer children having the schedule the way it is?

You said you wanted a placebo-only study. How will you determine the effects of the placebo-only study? Surely the only way to do that is to 'vaccinate' with only the placebo. Or have you changed what you want now?

I have said over and over again I'm not sure what methods will be used to further study side effects and that I'm interested to find out the results and methods when that happens via the HHS in the US.

MySweetMaggie · 26/09/2025 23:20

MissPoor · 26/09/2025 22:09

No. We never know all side effects absolutely. What we do know for sure is that a number of horrific diseases were virtually eradicated as a result of these vaccinations and they’re on their way back.

It took decades of scientists working together globally for this to happen. We risk decades again of the horror of these diseases coming back. I don’t know how I would explain to a child permanently disabled with polio that people decided they didn’t trust scientists anymore incase there were unknown long term effects.

Do you think you would be more interested in hearing this information from an epidemiologist rather than randoms on the Internet?

She wants us to waste our time and thus energy on a wild goose chase. I'm sure the work has been done and the results published but I don't have time to go and get it all.
She knows nothing about how drugs are tested or analysed or assessed for release.

It’s like conversing with flowing water… I think most people responding a day so other people might need here. This genie will not be going easily back in the bottle once let out. I feel desperately sorry for the current and future generations of children.

I don't think you read the last part of my last post. Nobody is suggesting people don't vaccinate their children. The point is to find out the side effects, if any, of the childhood vaccine schedule, as it has never been looked at.

Oh, this. I had similar discussions with my gran and the word ‘marvel’ describes it so well. To live without the fear of those diseases. I think polio was such a visible disease too. I do wonder whether the people avoiding vaccinations now might be those pushing their way to the front of the line should we need new vaccines, and god help us getting those given all that we’ve discussed.

I’m old - old enough to remember going to school with children just a few year older than I who wore calipers on their legs. I remember the images of rooms full of rows of children, and adults too, each lying in their own iron lungs. That was their life. The polio vaccine was like a miracle. I am so grateful that I, my children and my grandchildren, are able to access vaccinations.

I cant bear that people are so determined to send us back to the dark ages. Because without vaccines we’ll return the early death rates - shortened average life spans.

I dread when we fall below the 95% vaccinated herd immunity.

The other poster said all the side effects are known and are just those I listed above. I'm saying the combination of shots on the childhood schedule have never been tested. There may be side effects that show up weeks or months after the shots. As the manufacturers cannot be sued for any injury (since 1986) they haven't bothered. It will be good if someone does that.

Indeed. I sat with my DH’s grandmother before she died and she talked about a cousin crippled by polio (and died young as a result), referenced the children impacted by rubella (by contracting it and becoming deaf, or the birth defects and miscarriages when mothers contracted it). She felt it was a marvel that we could vaccinate and protect her beloved great grandchildren…

The common side effects (see previous link) that 99% of babies experience were easily mitigated by a bit of calpol. Sadly 5ml of calpol might not safe a life if they contract these illnesses.

Yes, there’s one huge longterm effect of the vaccines on the childhood schedule - that the vast majority of children don’t suffer lifelong effects or die horribly from the diseases themselves.

Yes the main side effects is surviving childhood…

Yes. It’s terrifying and I think partly borne from people’s naïveté of what those diseases were really like. I think when you add that to social media brainwashing and people’s lack of concern for anyone but themselves we’re in huge trouble here. I also think lack of education plays a part, people are easily duped. This is all at a time when scientists / research are being defunded as well. I do wonder who these people will think is coming to save them when the reality starts to become evident.

I wonder what Salk would think of the comments like those here today.

Worse than that - if the number of people getting vaccinated drops to below 95% (I think that is the optimum figure) then the diseases mutate with each new infection and those who ARE vaccinated cease to have protection because the variation is not mitigated by the vaccinations we’ve had. Ie, we ALL become vulnerable. The elderly, the immunocompromised, the young… everyone. And people will start - once again - to die or be paralysed by diseases we have managed to protect the vast majority of the population against. All these conspiracy theorists need to talk to elders in their communities to remember what it was like in their communities when this happened.

I think in the past, the people that chose not to vaccinate, for reasons other than truly being unable to, they were somewhat safe because of all other people that did get vaccinated - herd immunity. That’s going to change pretty quickly. It’s those people (who are truly unable to be vaccinated) I feel really sorry for, and babies too young to be vaccinated - should these diseases pick back up again then those parents are going to be terrified.

Of course you should continue to vaccinate your children as you see fit! Nobody is saying that you shouldn't. I think there are gaps in information is all and I think some further info would be good.

Okay. Best of luck to everybody then!

MySweetMaggie · 26/09/2025 21:20

MissPoor · 26/09/2025 21:17

Well, we can definitely agree to disagree, but I’m certainly not waiting before finishing my children’s vaccinations. I cannot imagine the guilt if they got those illnesses or passed them on to those more vulnerable while I awaited undefined, nebulous information from the US government. If you think that ‘big pharma’ doesn’t care about you then…. Perhaps that’s the difference.

No, there will be serious adverse events. We, of course, know that? But statistically, they are so much lower than those due to the illnesses they prevent. Bearing in mind that people can be fatally allergic (for example) to anything, it would be strange to not expect pharmaceuticals to have side effects. I’m not sure why anyone would think that was being denied?

PermanentTemporary · 26/09/2025 21:19

‘Let’s wait…’ let’s wait in what sense? What are we waiting for? When the waiting stops, what will we do?
