To want to put Xmas tree up on November 1st?

I am due a baby on 12th November, however getting a planned section about a week before this (anytime from 5th November onwards). I also have a very busy 2 year old. Due to having a section planned I’ll be resting quite a bit after this as well as looking after my newborn 24/7. I can’t imagine untangling Christmas lights and putting up the decorations once baby arrives.

I told DH I want to put the Xmas tree to November 1st so we don’t need to worry about doing this once baby is here. Is this too early??

I once started Christmas celebrations really early, by the second week in December I honestly felt done! Let your dh do the Christmas stuff with you sitting comfortably with baby in the same room x Best of luck on it all!

I think it would look a bit sorry for itself on Christmas Day if it’s been up for two months! Not to mention the needles dropping. Why do you have to do the lights and decorations yourself, surely your husband can do it if you don’t feel up to it. It doesn’t take long to actually put the lights up and decorations on - an hour if that? Your 2yr old might like a bit of 121 time with you without the newborn if you want to do the decorations without your husband.

But, if it’s something you want to do, why would you be unreasonable to do it?

DH can do it but not in November.

Erm, it is a bit!
Particularly as you have a ‘busy 2 year old’. I’d get dh to whack it up a week before Christmas to minimise the amount of bauble touching/tree pulling that might happen.
I haven’t had a c-section but 6 weeks later you should be capable of shoving a few baubles on surely?

Can’t your DH do it at a normal time, ie in December? You don’t need to untangle the lights, he can do it. I had baby number 2 on the 7th November (no 1 was 18 months) and our Christmas tree went up at some point in December!

not entirely sure why it would have to be your job to untangle the lights. You do you, but November 1st is early.
