Charlie Kirks wife forgives the killer

strangerandstranger · 21/09/2025 23:22

To people who said her husband was hateful and what they preached was hateful, she just forgave the killer, as God would. Powerful speech.

The messed up young man who thought shooting man he didn't like was the answer, will go to prison and no longer be with his boyfriend. Erika Kirk no longer has her husband and her children have list their father.

It’s just words. Forgiveness is a process.

ChessorBuckaroo · 22/09/2025 03:33

The religion he professed to believe in (he wasn't a Christian) forces the person to forgive. It's not done through choice.

While he was a racist scrote, the product of the white settler entity he lived in, and someone who advocated censoring american history in classrooms by teaching "patriotic history", he should not have been shot for his views, and nor is any death by firearm "worth it" like he believed (unless he was only referring to those who die in school shootings or other victims that didn't include him). When that bullet ripped through his throat his white nationalist followers shouldn't have had any sorrow as they should have felt it was worth it given they subscribe to his views, nor should they show any empathy as he didn't believe in the word.

A true follower of Kirk should have had a big fat "meh, what's for tea" response when hearing of his death.

SpidersAreShitheads · 22/09/2025 03:12

I found Charlie Kirk’s views to be particularly unpleasant. Obviously he didn’t deserve to be shot.

However, this near-canonisation of him is particularly bizarre. Especially when you consider Democrats were shot by a MAGA loon just a couple of months ago and there was barely a word.

I can’t imagine how terrible it must be to lose your husband in those circumstances, and to have young children who you need to be brave for.

I will admit to being surprised at how keen Erika is to get in front of the camera with her very carefully prepared speeches. She revealed today that she’ll be taking over as CEO.

I may be cynical but I’m struggling to believe her declaration of forgiveness. She seems very keen to become a public figure herself, which would be fine but the timing is rather strange, bearing in mind her husband has only been dead a fortnight.

Also, her cuddle with Trump onstage tonight was a whole other level of weirdness.

I wish her and her children the very best because no one deserves what happened to their family, but I remain sceptical about her authenticity. This all feels like a PR push designed to take advantage of public sympathy.

Because it turned out the shooter was MAGA…

The worthless college dropout killer was brought up in a conservative household. He became radicalised online and was even known at school at “the Reddit Kid.” Even his family were becoming concerned at his radical left views he was spouting.
Anyway his boyfriend is singing like a canary ( the trans one who is also a furry).

It's nuts how there is a good chunk of people literally living in a seperate reality. Its delusional but they wont be told. The killer wasn't maga.

this thread and many of the posts in it, like this one, are shining examples of what Charlie Kirk was trying to challenge respectfully in civilised debate without throwing around crass insults.

You got it in one.
Hateful nasty people claiming Charlie was the hateful one.
Their posts drip with hate.
Must be difficult in life being so hateful.
Posts incoming claiming their life is wonderful in ….3. 2 .1😂

Yeah sure…..

Because it turned out the shooter was MAGA…

No, it didn't.

Charlie Kirk was a dreadful man - among the worst of the worst. That she married him likely speaks volumes about Erika. I don't know why her professing to forgive his killer is meant to be in any way noteworthy, given the faith she professes to hold and now be something of a mouthpiece for.

But, while much is still unknown about the killer, it does seem to be that he was informed by leftwing political views (despite his Republican upbringing).

Maxorias · 22/09/2025 02:28

strangerandstranger · 21/09/2025 23:30

Who knows. I doubt its up to her. However, to publicly say she forgives the killer.... many would struggle to do that.

I don't get it at all. If someone murdered a family member I'd want them to die with extreme prejudice. Just forgiving the murderer makes it look and feel like her husband's life didn't matter to her.

It’s quite nice of her to forgive the killer BUT the fact remains that her husband was a vile man. He shouldn’t have been killed. That is a separate issue.

He doesn't have a currently 10 year old daughter? He was asked a hypothetical question. He is clear in his belief that abortion is murder and that the only exception is if the mothers life is in danger so he kind of had to answer the question in that way or he would be called a hypocrite. I'm sure if it actually happened he would feel differently.

Edited

You’re sure are you? I’m not. He was very clear. His religious beliefs meant that he wasn’t capable of being a good father.

Stephenra · 22/09/2025 02:06

Entirely fake and artificial statement. She was probably told to say that by other MAGA minions.

It is easy to stand by your moral values when you are not in the situation.
I'm against murder. I also know given the wrong circumstances that all humans are capable of murder, including me, although the thought is sickening now whilst I'm safe in my home.

But you have the self awareness to know that it is possible that your values may change in an extreme circumstance. He either wouldn’t admit that was a possibility or he truly believed what he was saying, both of those things show that he wasn’t in a healthy state of mind because he was so caught up in ideology.

He said he would want his (currently 10 year old) daughter to give birth to a child resulting from rape.
That tells me all I need to know about him as a father.
Disgraceful.

He said if his daughter was pregnant at aged 10 as a result of being raped, that ‘yes, the baby would be delivered’. Anyone that feels that way is mentally ill imo. You can not have healthy thought processes if you will let your belief of something take over your life so much that you are willing to let harm come to your actual existing fully formed young child for those beliefs.

USA is not a Christian country.
Trump is not a Christian - far from it.
Kirk was an evangelical Christian and espoused many views that contradict those of Christ.
His daughter is 3 years old.
Erika Kirk was raised Catholic. She says she has forgiven Tyler Robinson for shooting Charlie.

I think it might help out the rest of the world to be reassured that even if the US politicians are all nutjob fundamentalists counting pots of evangelical cash, there are a variety of other citizens who don't believe in the end times, rapture, demonic possession or spiritual warfare, because from where we're sitting that's the impression we're being given.

Wouldn’t perhaps be easier to admit that you were wrong about the US being a Christian country, and that Trump is not acting unconstitutionally in expressing his own religious beliefs?

If you perhaps knew a little more about basic American history and the Bill of Rights, you wouldn’t need such reassurances. You alone (not ‘we’) have the impression that ‘US politicians are all nutjob fundamentalists’ - which is blatantly and obviously untrue and a huge exaggeration on your part - because you’re not educated enough on the basic facts, and can’t seem to admit you’ve made basic mistakes.

If they considered Kimmel’s comments to be reasonable and measured, perhaps ABC might have resisted such pressure and fought his corner? Evidently this was not the case.

Kimmel was free to express his views, but they came with consequences.

You're missing the point. Deliberately, I think.

It's fine for people in the public eye to have to accept the consequences of what they say. Their employer may decide to sack them or they may be under pressure to resign.

It is not fine when "consequences" arise from direct threats to broadcasters by the administration in order to silence political dissent. This is the point at which speech ceases to be free.

Bury your head in the sand if you want to, and pretend it isn't happening, but freedom of expression in the US is very clearly under threat.

You're not serious? How can anyone take anything you say seriously? His daughter is not 10 years old! Soif you're going to use an example, at least get your facts right, or you lose all credibility,

Did you even watch it? He never came out and said it, he was talking about how he believed in the sanctity of human life and how he believed unborn babies deserved to live. He hated abortion.

The girl pushed him into answering the question , using the hypothetical scenario of his daughter being rated- his first words were how horrible of a situation it would be.

I don't agree with this view at all, but the way you've said it bears no resemblance to what he said.

There are hateful things preached weekly in this country, but no one would call the speakers there hateful.

Of course he doesn’t need to preface his ‘ramblings’ with an explanation of this - every American knows it! They’re perfectly aware of the Bill of Rights and their constitutional rights, even if you are not and the preface would help you out.

MistressoftheDarkSide · 22/09/2025 01:25

The President etc are certainly giving the impression that the US is a Christian country at the moment. Perhaps he should preface his ramblings with a disclaimer referencing that those are his personal views according to the freedoms accorded by the first amendment, and not necessarily reflective of the general populous, especially when he's beating the drums of "holy / spiritual war".

There has been an underbelly of a spiritual war looming for a long time, mainly fueled in an response to Islam and the rise in immigration.
People menz use religion as a way to herd the violent reactions we have today.
Social media has let the hate spread like mould.
I think this speech will increase followers.

His daughter is currently about three, not 10. He was asked a question about what he would do in that awful hypothetical scenario, appeared horrified and said something along the lines of 'the child would be born'. An unsurprising response from someone who genuinely believes that abortion is murder, as many people do (I disagree).
