Charlie Kirks wife forgives the killer

To people who said her husband was hateful and what they preached was hateful, she just forgave the killer, as God would. Powerful speech.

The messed up young man who thought shooting man he didn't like was the answer, will go to prison and no longer be with his boyfriend. Erika Kirk no longer has her husband and her children have list their father.

People were saying that his movement was hateful, they were all hateful. She has shown she wasn't. I have seen her husband's speeches, not just read the clips, people have shared of bits of them. I don't agree with what he says but I cannot see how that deserves being killed or how cheering at his killing makes anything better.

She has shown she isn't hateful. That was my point, she's shown forgiveness in the face of sheer horror.

The fact you believe her is baffling. She is lying.

Shellyash · 22/09/2025 06:25

Credit to her, poor lady.

he wasn't preaching hate contrary to what many think. I've listened to a few of his speeches and he was stating his viewpoint, this is what upsets people.
Mostly people that preach Christianity get persecuted because it's aimed at conscience and that hurts. Think martyrs. RIP Charlie.

DrowningInSyrup · 22/09/2025 05:54

Of course she doesn't, she's been coached on what to say.

This.
She is set up for life now, if the Trump theocracy continues.
The OP is obvs an astroturf seed, so there is little point engaging. Luckily in the U.K. we still have freedom of speech (just) and there’s many bright and brilliant folk fighting for it, plus a (mostly) democratic system.
Fuck Trump.

lessee167 · 22/09/2025 06:14

To say publicly that she forgives is easy! To realise the real danger guns pose and work towards stopping gun violence is something else

Calmomiletea · 22/09/2025 00:05

How many videos of Charlie's did you ever watch? The only way someone could equate what Charlie said as hateful is if they simply didn't agree with what he said. Such people confuse telling the truth with hate, which is actually the opposite of what it is: telling the truth when people will hate you for it is actually love. That's what CK sacrificed himself for, so that people like you who would hate him could hear the truth.

Face the truth.

Sacrificed himself? Get a grip. He was a racist.

Calling his views "the truth" makes you a racist, homophobic, misogynistic bigot too.

How bizarre.

It's been a week and a half since this man intentionally shot and killed her husband leaving her a widow and her young children without their father. And she has already forgiven him? How? Why?!

This is not normal behaviour. I find it very odd 😳

Edited

People SAY all sorts of things. Doesn't mean what they say is a true and accurate mirror of what's in their hearts and thoughts.

Kirk himself said some shockingly awful things. Maybe he didn't really mean or believe those appalling words?

Who the flip knows?!

Shookethh · 22/09/2025 06:10

I’ve seen a lot of Christians on crime shows “forgive” the killer. But it’s not real. They act the same as someone who hasn’t forgiven and still want the death penalty.

Well yes they do, but the Bible preaches forgiveness and Christian’s are expected to forgive. Whether or not many genuinely do forgive, or say they do, who knows. The Kirks were very religious so i’m not surprised that she has stated that she forgives him. Whatever we think of his politics or of her, that takes a lot of strength in the midst of such anguish.

I 100% wouldn’t forgive anyone who hurt or killed someone I loved. I’d want them to suffer as much as I was. I’d be giving a strong impact statement at a killer’s sentencing.

A lot of Christians DO live with hate in their heart.

This is kind of what I dislike about Christianity. It’s not good to forgive people who show zero remorse.

GarlicBreadStan · 22/09/2025 05:50

Zanatdy · 22/09/2025 05:39

Saying you forgive someone doesn’t mean you’re saying what they did didn’t matter. Erika Kirk is a christian and they preach forgiveness. I’m pretty sure she despises the man who killed her husband. It’s easier to live with forgiveness than hate in your heart.

I don't get it at all. If someone murdered a family member I'd want them to die with extreme prejudice. Just forgiving the murderer makes it look and feel like her husband's life didn't matter to her.

This is really interesting, most practicing muslims believe that homosexuality is wrong and you’ll burn in hell for an eternity for it, much like some Christians. I assume we can declare muslims who believe this to be hateful facists and not feel sad if anyone murders them? I mean his views are not actually unusual for a religious person. At least he was happy to expose himself to dissent and actually went out and debated people, no his views don’t align with my own on many issues, especially abortion (I’m an atheist and the leading your wife stuff no thank you) but at least he had the balls to argue with people instead of just yelling and crying.

People have religious beliefs which should be fine in a tolerant society. Grown ups say “oh thats interesting, why do you think that? I don’t agree for xyz reason”. We are clearly living in times when your average adult has devolved into a giant screaming toddler who can’t tolerate anyone who disagrees with them.

Fuck me, perhaps it’s the end times.

GarlicBreadStan · 22/09/2025 04:56

I don't think many people care about how "forgiving" his wife is. I don't think many people care that he was shot. Should he have died? No. I don't really think anyone deserves to die for their views (though he was a hateful, vile arsehole). Do people care that he died? Also probably not. Are you a Charlie Kirk sympathiser?

WiddlinDiddlin · 22/09/2025 04:54

Easy to say all sorts of things, particularly if encouraged to stick to a particular script, used to sticking to a particular script....

Whether she means it - only she will ever know that. Personally, I doubt it, certainly not this early on, if ever.

But.. so what, really?

It's all smoke and mirrors to distract you from other things, sleight of hand so you take your eye off everything else that is going on.

I care as much for what she has said since, as I do for the man himself - zero, nada, nothing.

He doesn't have a currently 10 year old daughter? He was asked a hypothetical question. He is clear in his belief that abortion is murder and that the only exception is if the mothers life is in danger so he kind of had to answer the question in that way or he would be called a hypocrite. I'm sure if it actually happened he would feel differently.

Edited

God forbid he be called a hypocrite. He was called that on the regular anyway, have you listened to him debate? Hypocrisy is these guys middle name, look at trump!

He's in heaven next to jesus, or so the belief goes. If you mourn too hard, you might cast doubt on yourself for perhaps not being a true believer.

this thread and many of the posts in it, like this one, are shining examples of what Charlie Kirk was trying to challenge respectfully in civilised debate without throwing around crass insults.

Yes, because saying Muslims are stupid, that Jews control US immigration policy, that ‘prowling blacks’ look for white people to attack, that Gazans should be thrown off from buildings and that women should only go to college to meet husbands and have babies is so respectful and civilised!

Bigcat25 · 22/09/2025 04:11

ChessorBuckaroo · 22/09/2025 03:33

The religion he professed to believe in (he wasn't a Christian) forces the person to forgive. It's not done through choice.

While he was a racist scrote, the product of the white settler entity he lived in, and someone who advocated censoring american history in classrooms by teaching "patriotic history", he should not have been shot for his views, and nor is any death by firearm "worth it" like he believed (unless he was only referring to those who die in school shootings or other victims that didn't include him). When that bullet ripped through his throat his white nationalist followers shouldn't have had any sorrow as they should have felt it was worth it given they subscribe to his views, nor should they show any empathy as he didn't believe in the word.

A true follower of Kirk should have had a big fat "meh, what's for tea" response when hearing of his death.

Beautifully said. A bunch of white supremisist sociopaths.

I imagine many would be very angry, seeking revenge etc.

She’s just presenting an image. 5 days after her husband’s murder, she gave a speech in which she was flogging tickets to their Americafest convention, for which VIP tickets cost $800 each!

She also said ‘You have no idea what you have just unleashed’.

As she has taken over from her husband from running his org, I expect her rhetoric will be similar to his.

Bigcat25 · 22/09/2025 04:04

You are very naive op. Erika Kirk puts many young, religious women in danger. Most have grown up in very religious families and are encouraged by people like her and CK to drop out of school, marry young, submit to there husband. She herself is well educated, did not marry young, has a business, podcasts, speaking engagements, an LLC and worked as a realtor. She has assets, help at home, stylists, a mansion, etc.

The women who must live as submissive biblical wives have none of that. They may be subjected to violence, non consensual bdsm, have no bank account, my work for their husbands business for free, etc. Many have ended up homeless and with ptsd after leaving. Men are taught to keep their women in line as head of the family, and they will be judged by their god at death if they don't.

Check some interviews by the amazing Tia Levings, or youtuber "Life take two" for their experiences and views on this subject. The later ended up homeless after leaving, and was told by her husband that they were unadopting their son and he gave their 4 year old away the next day. The violent marital rape that Tia endured was horrifying.

EK called her husband a martyr. She would like to be one too. Of course she'll say she forgives, it's part of the image, part of the grift. Just like when she post herself crying over his coffin, lashes, hair and make-up done. Nothing is sacred.

ETA that EK is not alone, she is part of a "former feminist" movement that the Christian nationalist patriarchy is using to push their cause, while living lives of luxory themselves.

he had hateful views.

No he had views you disagree with. You don't get to make the judgement call.
