Charlie Kirks wife forgives the killer

strangerandstranger · 21/09/2025 23:22

To people who said her husband was hateful and what they preached was hateful, she just forgave the killer, as God would. Powerful speech.

The messed up young man who thought shooting man he didn't like was the answer, will go to prison and no longer be with his boyfriend. Erika Kirk no longer has her husband and her children have list their father.

People are ascribing all sorts to a woman they don’t know. Maybe she loved her husband very much and is genuinely sad that someone murdered him, she has two small kids and is in the public eye. “Set up for life” yeah thats what I’d be thinking if DH was murdered and I was trying to explain that someone couldn’t tolerate him just saying stuff so they killed him to my devastated children. Can you imagine how his children must be feeling.

The complete lack of empathy here is shocking. I didn’t follow him but I do remember him saying he doesn’t use the word empathy because no-one really knows what it’s like to be in someone else’s shoes.

People have become degenerate. I’m actually disgusted tbh. This is facistic behaviour, killing of political opponents celebrated or dismissed.

I completely agree with you on some things. FWIW I thought he was a pretty great man - I was shocked and saddened at his death. I agree with lots of the commentary about him - he was always open to hearing other points of view, he held a lot of grace for people who didn’t agree with him, and while I didn’t align with much of what he said, it felt he was interested in other perspectives - i don’t think the American left has a true comparative figure.

Its also clear that he has now been martyred by the US government, which is literally the authoritarian playbook, and I think his wife must have a massive devils deal to do now between cashing out on this, or not - but as my understanding is that she was a trad wife (although lol to most of the rich America trad wives…) she doesn’t have much choice, so if she genuinely believes in god then I assume she believes He will see her right eventually.

Tubs11 · 22/09/2025 07:05

Saying and feeling are two very different things.
In the aftermath of such tragedy you have no idea how you really feel, it will take her many years to know how she truly feels about his killer. Right now she is going through an array of emotions and this is one of them but it's not her final one.
It's very naive to believe that she or anyone could come to that conclusion within weeks.

Enough about these strange American fake Christians who worship guns, violence and money.

Nobody in the UK cared about CK the Youtube influencer fake Christian with weirdo opinions 3 weeks ago, and in 3 weeks he will be forgotten regardless of whether his wife has taken over (I thought he said women weren’t supposed to work?).

Stop trying to bring American BS, crazy politics, and fake Christianity here. We don’t want it.

oh I bet you wish this was true. Wish hard enough and you can make it happen, right?
Wrong.

As horrible as his views are, they are shared by many, many millions who are anti-abortion, many on the left even (yes, some on the left are anti abortion too). I am surprised by how many are shocked at his view, that it's such an anomaly. Guaranteed you know several people you work with/meet in day to day life that share that same belief on abortion. It's not one I share. But it is a mainstream opinion, and very common.

and shared by many muslims, jews, catholics, christian’s and others the world over. A very common, mainstream argument. There are intellectual and philosophical arguments that abortion is the unlawful taking of a life.
I don’t believe this, I’m pro choice, but I understand and respect the alternative opinion.

He doesn't have a ten year old daughter. She's 3 or 4 years old.

Oh that makes it okay then 🙄

You should listen to how Erika explains this. It’s a Christian concept of how to build a household. If you aren’t Christian (I am not) it’s probably not for you. Iirc Swift has a Christian background, as do most white Americans.

As for the so-called ‘racism’ are you American by any chance?

Listen to how the submissive woman tries to explain her her husbands extreme racist views? Listen to yourself.

They are vile people, and their "Christian concept" is abhorrent. How does she explain kids getting shot being worth it for gun ownership. She's going to have to try everything she can now to stay relevant and it's tragic.

He said he would want his (currently 10 year old) daughter to give birth to a child resulting from rape.
That tells me all I need to know about him as a father.
Disgraceful.

He said if his daughter was pregnant at aged 10 as a result of being raped, that ‘yes, the baby would be delivered’. Anyone that feels that way is mentally ill imo. You can not have healthy thought processes if you will let your belief of something take over your life so much that you are willing to let harm come to your actual existing fully formed young child for those beliefs.

He's dead, he was shot, she's in mourning but also forgiveness.

He is dead, yes. He was hateful in life.

'If I’m dealing with somebody in customer service who’s a moronic Black woman, I wonder is she there because of her excellence, or is she there because of affirmative action"

"Reject feminism. Submit to your husband, Taylor. You’re not in charge."

"prowling Blacks go around for fun to go target white people, that’s a fact."

You dont think any of that is hate? Really? You stand by that?

How bizarre.

It's been a week and a half since this man intentionally shot and killed her husband leaving her a widow and her young children without their father. And she has already forgiven him? How? Why?!

This is not normal behaviour. I find it very odd 😳

It’s Performative… she has to say it, to continue the “Christian” narrative they all claim.

Nothing Christian about hateful views - our actions are more important than our words.

it’s open season on Christians though. Other religions are off limits when it comes to debate.

sorry but anyone who believes that is hateful. Their religion or skin colour or country of birth is irrelevant.

Credit to her, poor lady.

he wasn't preaching hate contrary to what many think. I've listened to a few of his speeches and he was stating his viewpoint, this is what upsets people.
Mostly people that preach Christianity get persecuted because it's aimed at conscience and that hurts. Think martyrs. RIP Charlie.

I’ve seen a lot of Christians on crime shows “forgive” the killer. But it’s not real. They act the same as someone who hasn’t forgiven and still want the death penalty.

Thank goodness they still have some sense. No point in forgiving those who don’t feel remorse.

I don’t feel I should tell a widow how to grieve but let’s just say I do not understand

This is really interesting, most practicing muslims believe that homosexuality is wrong and you’ll burn in hell for an eternity for it, much like some Christians. I assume we can declare muslims who believe this to be hateful facists and not feel sad if anyone murders them? I mean his views are not actually unusual for a religious person. At least he was happy to expose himself to dissent and actually went out and debated people, no his views don’t align with my own on many issues, especially abortion (I’m an atheist and the leading your wife stuff no thank you) but at least he had the balls to argue with people instead of just yelling and crying.

People have religious beliefs which should be fine in a tolerant society. Grown ups say “oh thats interesting, why do you think that? I don’t agree for xyz reason”. We are clearly living in times when your average adult has devolved into a giant screaming toddler who can’t tolerate anyone who disagrees with them.

Fuck me, perhaps it’s the end times.

This.
She is set up for life now, if the Trump theocracy continues.
The OP is obvs an astroturf seed, so there is little point engaging. Luckily in the U.K. we still have freedom of speech (just) and there’s many bright and brilliant folk fighting for it, plus a (mostly) democratic system.
Fuck Trump.

LOL at the idea that we have free speech in the UK.
Cancel culture is rife here as anyone with eyes and ears will have noticed.

If he and Trump has succeeded in their plot to overthrow the 2020 election results, would you feel disgusted at his murder then?

(FWIW, I do have sincere sympathy for his children).

Yet the thread started "To people who said her husband was hateful..."

Again - he played a significant role in trying to overturn the 2020 election.

Spare me the "free speech warrior" shtick. He was complicit in trying to strip Americans of their most powerful means of expression in a democracy - the right to vote.

If you value debate and the free exchange of ideas, why celebrate someone opposed to democracy itself?

Christians (especially Christian women) quite often feel under pressure to "forgive".
It's very early to be talking about forgiveness. She'll still be in shock.
So sorry for her loss though.
I didnt agree with Charlie Kirk but he didn't deserve to be gunned down for taking part in a debate.
