Charlie Kirks wife forgives the killer

To people who said her husband was hateful and what they preached was hateful, she just forgave the killer, as God would. Powerful speech.

The messed up young man who thought shooting man he didn't like was the answer, will go to prison and no longer be with his boyfriend. Erika Kirk no longer has her husband and her children have list their father.

in your opinion. Isn’t free speech great?
thank goodness we have fact checking websites like snopes.

The worthless college dropout killer was brought up in a conservative household. He became radicalised online and was even known at school at “the Reddit Kid.” Even his family were becoming concerned at his radical left views he was spouting.
Anyway his boyfriend is singing like a canary ( the trans one who is also a furry).

Thanks.

No idea why some people insist the killer was MAGA he wasn't. He was radicalised and thought killing someone he disagreed with was the answer.

The one where, despite preaching hate, saying they’d force raped minors into giving birth and claiming it’s worth a few deaths to allow any Tom, Dick or Charlie to own a gun, they present themselves as loving and kind Christians.

And people will swallow it. Look at this thread.

It appeared you were referring to me, sorry

What narrative is that then

It’s normal. I’ve done it. Hatred does more harm to the person doing the hating. Punishment is not in our hands. The only thing I wish for my relative’s killer is life in prison (so he can’t do it again, why waste time hoping he is having a bad time, you have to let that go) and I hope one day God will show him remorse for his actions.
I am glad for her that she has been able to forgive her husband’s killer, it will help her.

It absolutely is not normal to have “forgiven” your husbands killer within two weeks of his death, and to be using this as an opportunity to politically campaign. It is not normal to turn his memorial into a political stunt.

awkwardasfuck · 22/09/2025 07:39

I am not Christian so need not worry about it. But she gives an explanation that is probably acceptable to most Christians.

Kirk was certainly not racist. But when 60% of the murders in my home country are committed by 13% of the population, a conversation needs to be had. He understood that. Our cowardly politicians will hide and say the most mealy mouthed things, anything to avoid being called a racist. It’s horrific.

He certainly was racist, openly.

Who knows. I doubt its up to her. However, to publicly say she forgives the killer.... many would struggle to do that.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 22/09/2025 07:36

Surely her saying she forgives the killer is a good thing for the public to hear, whether she really means it yet or not. Anything to help calm the vitriol on all sides. Imagine if she’d got up there and said the exact opposite.

HaveItOffTilICough · 22/09/2025 07:35

strangerandstranger · 21/09/2025 23:38

You are very combative, are you OK?

It must have taken a lot for her to forgive the killer, she is devastated having lost the love of her life. Impossible to imagine what she is going through.

It suits their narrative.

mjf981 · 22/09/2025 07:34

ExtraOnions · 22/09/2025 06:47

It’s Performative… she has to say it, to continue the “Christian” narrative they all claim.

Nothing Christian about hateful views - our actions are more important than our words.

But it's so obviously...fake.

You can't possibly forgive somebody this quickly. Its ridiculous. It basically excludes grief and anger, two of the most basic human emotions.

I’m a rad feminist, so from that lens yeah I think he was. Look at the amount of content and discussion we’re having right now.

I don’t agree with much of what he said, especially when it came to women’s rights, but I will defend to the death the right of anyone to say anything with being shot for it, and for it never to be celebrated if that does happen.

I also think the martyrdom is a mid sign of authoritarianism.

theres much more on this thread to get incensed about before we discuss the definition of a ‘great man’. I have little time for ‘great men’ but I think he was probably one of them, yes, in his ability and proclivity to reach across the aisle and discuss - lots of woman in the UK have been missing this for years and he was Winston Churchill compared to a fuckwit like Miller.

The funny thing is he didn’t even debate. He shouted facts, and that was that. He never actually engaged in discussions.

5128gap · 22/09/2025 07:33

I'd really like to know her definition of 'forgiveness'. Because she likens it to that of God's. Which is today you will be with me in paradise, more joy over a repentant sinner etc.
I struggle to imagine she would think that if the killer was truly sorry he should be welcomed joyfully back into society and that his crime should not effect his future rewards. That he should be considered equally as beloved and treated just as well by God and man as her husband.
I imagine she's speaking of a determination not to let hate of the killer dominate her life and make her bitter and angry. If she achieves this she will probably have more peace of mind for it. But the killer will not be effected either way unless she extends this to speaking for him. So it's not an act of kindness towards him, but a decision for herself.

I'm not saying he deserved to die, but for you to be saddened by the death of a hateful man is kind of ridiculous, no? I'm not even saying I'm celebrating it, but I'm certainly not upset by it either. It happened. He's dead. The end.

And yes I know he was a father and a husband. Would my opinion be different if he was my son, or my husband, or some other kind of male figure in my life? Perhaps. But he wasn't. And I have no empathy for his wife. Trying to explain away everything he said.

Did you read the title. His wife talked of God and forgiveness. That's not hateful.

It is when you weaponise your Christianity. The American Christian right are dangerous and very very far from the teachings of Christ

But that conversation needs to be focused on WHY that happens. Things like the broken windows theory, poorer outcomes for the poorest in society, the fact that it’s a self fulfilling prophecy. Not the disgusting, racist bile that Kirk was spewing.

ThatCyanCat · 22/09/2025 07:18

I once met the mother and sister of a man who had been murdered in a racist attack. They were Christian and forgave the murderer. They are better people than I am. I don't have it in me. They did say that forgiveness is an ongoing process and you have to keep on doing it.

I completely agree with you on some things. FWIW I thought he was a pretty great man - I was shocked and saddened at his death. I agree with lots of the commentary about him - he was always open to hearing other points of view, he held a lot of grace for people who didn’t agree with him, and while I didn’t align with much of what he said, it felt he was interested in other perspectives - i don’t think the American left has a true comparative figure.

Its also clear that he has now been martyred by the US government, which is literally the authoritarian playbook, and I think his wife must have a massive devils deal to do now between cashing out on this, or not - but as my understanding is that she was a trad wife (although lol to most of the rich America trad wives…) she doesn’t have much choice, so if she genuinely believes in god then I assume she believes He will see her right eventually.

Listen to how the submissive woman tries to explain her her husbands extreme racist views? Listen to yourself.

They are vile people, and their "Christian concept" is abhorrent. How does she explain kids getting shot being worth it for gun ownership. She's going to have to try everything she can now to stay relevant and it's tragic.
