Backlash against Trans women

ITVeveningnewsclip · 18/09/2025 19:24

(Story on ITV news about drag performer who died after taking drug ketamine, not suicide, just a regular user it seems who took more than usual.) Thus post isn't about him.

Anyway, bloke during story moaned that 'we are currently seeing a backlash against trans at the moment, particularly trans women' (men), and 'that's not a world I want to live in'.

I mean seriously, the TRA has been abusive to women for years for even mentioning any concerns, yet now trans women are victims (again). Perpetual victims it seems. These men are frankly ridiculous. I get fed up of the men in dresses and their victimhood.

They certainly are.

The one who objects to us running the trans service wants our funding, all the paperwork (he doesn't trust us to keep his 'trans siblings' data safe, despite him being the one who has already doxxed me and one of our therapists) and the lease on the building to be turned over to him. He has no experience, no ability to run the service and constantly plonks himself in the middle of meetings and demands to be referred to as the 'convener' of the service

He is absolutely shameless and wholly bankrolled by absentee parents. This seems to be his calling!!!

And no, no legal remonstration has ever worked for more than a few weeks. He has cost us a fortune, taking money out of the frontline, directly reducing the number of clients we can help

Knowing it isn't just us is even more infuriating when someone, male or female, throws out the "you don't know one/they just want to live"

Meh!

Is he a client? Why are you allowing him to run meetings at your premises?

SamphiretheTervosaur · 19/09/2025 16:26

Yes. Three of them over the last decade

It doesn't stop him as the 'punishment' to date has been stymied by the bank of mum and dad and some very good psychiatric reports!

Have you considered getting a court injunction to prevent him from sueing you/your service as hes using the courts to harass you/your service?

The thing is many of us did try to support them campaigning for 3rd spaces and in return for our kind offer of help we were labelled Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists ie TERFs.
Transwomen dont want 3rd spaces or to use the men's they want access to the unconsenting women in women's spaces for the validation and other more unsavoury purposes

Edited

Yes, absolutely. I probably should have referenced that tbh.

The fact that in so many cases a third space is rejected and there’s just screaming outrage at not being allowed to use the women’s single sex space says it all.

So many examples - the Ponds being a great one currently.

I can also remember the case of the trans identifying man who was offered a private changing room when swimming. Pretty much every woman I know would have been overjoyed. The man was furious. He wanted to get changed in the public space where women were getting undressed. Totally normal behaviour…not.

IIRC, a third category was set up in sport and there wasn’t a single trans entrant - if they can’t join the women’s category, they’re not interested. Can’t imagine why 🙄

I’m fine with being called a TERF. No shame in it at all.

Verv · 19/09/2025 15:22

We're not seeing a "backlash"
They've peaked in popularity, in turn, they've peaked the rest of the world which has become entirely disinterested in pandering to them, or their dramatics.

So now they're very annoyed.

Shame.

The “vast majority “ of men are also no trouble to women yet there are enough bad apples that the law considers certain protections reasonable

although if you look at the prisons population I would argue that there are a disproportionate number of bad apple transwomen

oh I know - they don’t count - they must be lying because

Agree with this especially the first paragraph.

While women’s and girls spaces, places in sport, dignity and boundaries remain threatened (and for me even if it was just one woman that’s too manyl) I don’t have a problem with trans women but I bloody have a big issue with those in that population who continue to behave like they do. And threatening women with rape and death when we dare voice challenge.

This isn’t a race to the bottom but when time and energy to stand up for others is scarce I shall continue to prioritise the rights of biological women over men everyday of the week.

Flakey99 · 19/09/2025 15:04

The Transwomen I know are fairly quiet and getting on with their lives BUT they still expect you to validate them as real women, which of course they aren’t.

I tend to stay mute when H talks about knowing what it feels like being a woman because s/he has too many mutual friends who are happy to support his delusions and I don’t want to be ostracised. 😳

Hoardasurass · 19/09/2025 15:02

SpidersAreShitheads · 19/09/2025 07:44

I was coming here to say exactly this too.

If men feel vulnerable in some way, they need to campaign for their safe spaces - they don't get to take ours away. Our spaces are not up for grabs by any other person that feels unsafe.

Women have already been attacked and assaulted in spaces that were supposed to be safe, by trans identifying men that claimed a right to enter.

The law has now made it clear that anyone with a male body needs to stay out of female single sex spaces. Of course, some have predictably refused - which is the very height of male privilege.

Many women, including myself, would be happy to support any individual who wanted to campaign for a third space. But they don't get to claim ours just because they want to.

Women are not a shield.

And although society may not like to acknowledge this, our rights matter too.

The thing is many of us did try to support them campaigning for 3rd spaces and in return for our kind offer of help we were labelled Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists ie TERFs.

Of course it is. That’s why it’s not allowed in some arenas (including on here up to a couple of years ago).
They much prefer to keep it all as opaque (and murky!) as possible.

I just call them cross dressers and transvestites. Everyone understands those terms and they are accurate.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 19/09/2025 14:39

SamphiretheTervosaur · 19/09/2025 12:48

Because if you run a single sex service these men are likely to target you, to set put to get you closed down if you say no to them. They have absolutely no bounds, no shame and nobody to tell them to desist

For almost a decade we have had 2 individuals contact our local and national funding providers and deluge them with accusations of discriminatory behaviour, our funding was halved for more than 5 years

One threatened, is still threatening, to publish our address if we don't hand over part of our service to him, including all of our confidential data... he has no experience or ability to run the service

We have to set aside a huge amount of money to counter repeated legal challenges, have spent 10s of thousands defending pir service

We are a small, rural, independent DV service. We have a female centre, a male centre and a specific trans services with specifically trained staff and trans specific medical and MH networking

These men ONLY want access to our female centre

Oddly trans identified women understand why we don't allow them access to our women's spaces and are very happy to access the specific services we offer

We aren't the only example of this. We now think that about 8 years ago there was a concerted effort to identify and target similar services nationally. It is an ongoing situation

This is an example of why many of us continue to push back against suggestions to 'be reasonable'

These men are not reasonable and they do irreparable harms

How infuriating that one malicious man is causing so much harm.

I don't pay particular attention to which is used, tbh. But I do wish that the term "transwomen"/"trans women" had never been thought of, because it does suggest that they are a kind of woman and there are many people who are still getting misled by this. "Trans-identifying males" is much more accurate.

Well this back lash against trans women is worrying isn't it? Biological women doxing them, threatening them with rape and violence, even death threats, you can't blame them being scared and upset, oh no wait.......

Some men are indeed vulnerable. That doesn't mean they have the right to use women's facilities. Why would it?

Exactly. It’s a male problem, to be resolved by males.

Vast majority of trans women do not want to disadvantage women. You live in fear because of a tiny majority that is being blown our of proportion (on places like Mumsnet too). How many trans women do you actually know and how many of them tried to harm you in any way? I guess the number is zero, but you still feel the need to rant and be 'fed up with them'. Get out from your cave, go and talk to trans people, they dont bite.

Ah, let's tick that off the bingo card ("you don't know any trans people and would think differently if you did"). I do know some transwomen, and while I don't feel in any physical threat from them, being expected to lie and call them "she" does me great damage. Watching them use women's toilets pisses me off no end too.

Any male who enters a female single sex space is a sexually predatory male who is not only disadvantaging women but sexually harassing them just by being there so all who use or try to use female single sex spaces

Honestly, I don't care whether they bite or not. I don't want men (however identified) in our spaces and sports.

You’re worryingly ignorant: it’s you that needs to find out a little bit more about the reality. ‘Harm’ doesn’t just mean rape and kill. It can mean to take opportunities and promotions and scholarships designed for women. It can mean shoving them down the pecking order in competitive sport. It can mean making them feel unsafe or uncomfortable when using the toilet or undressing. It can mean bullying them verbally or having them hassled at work for failing to comply with their belief that they’ve become the opposite sex.

That ‘tiny minority’ you speak of isn’t what the massively overrepresented number of ‘trans women’ sex offenders and violent offenders in the UK prison population is currently telling us. These men commit crimes against women at a higher rate than men who don’t identify as trans. An enormous proportion of that ‘tiny minority’ are actively causing harm to women - whether that’s harm that’s serious enough to warrant imprisonment or other types of harmful impact that I listed earlier.

The problem isn’t trans people existing or getting on with their lives quietly. Very few people have an issue with that as it barely impacts them. The problem is a ‘tiny minority’ of men - it’s men, not trans-identifying women causing the problems - using their trans identity to take women’s hard-fought concessions and accommodations away from them. For example, women have been underrepresented in computing jobs for years. Now, firms fill posts with men who identify as women and view that as a real boost for women. It’s not. I’m tired of well meaning people dumbly parroting that ‘rights aren’t pie.’ Yes, women’s rights are. Because if you take a woman’s job or sporting award or scholarship and give it to a man, women lose out. If you put a man in a shelter for women, every woman in there may lose their feeling of safety to accommodate that single man.

Trans activists are some of the most selfish people I’ve ever encountered. Blame them for taking liberties with our good will, not women for putting their foot down.

Snap, exactly this. I was such an ally that used to accompany him on nights out around Manchester canal street area, in those days there used to be a gatherings of trans on a Wednesday night. I met a number of his “friends” all trans. They referred to me as the “fish” at all times, followed me to the toilet, then joked that “I sounded like a cart horse when I peed” talked about sex most of the time, despite seeing I was uncomfortable, and worst, fucking worst of all, tried to pressure my relative to go to Thailand for the full operation. Thank fuck he didn’t, because he has well and truly desisted now, for over 25 years and is the biggest terf you’ll ever meet following his experiences. So don’t anyone dare tell me Ive never met a transwomen. Harmless my fucking foot.

Oh, and after relative desisted, these people spread the word that he’d killed himself amongst his former community.

Same I used to a trans ally of a friend until they became very toxic and kept sharing toxic views against women and poor people … also used to engage in risky behaviours
