Backlash against Trans women

ITVeveningnewsclip · 18/09/2025 19:24

(Story on ITV news about drag performer who died after taking drug ketamine, not suicide, just a regular user it seems who took more than usual.) Thus post isn't about him.

Anyway, bloke during story moaned that 'we are currently seeing a backlash against trans at the moment, particularly trans women' (men), and 'that's not a world I want to live in'.

I mean seriously, the TRA has been abusive to women for years for even mentioning any concerns, yet now trans women are victims (again). Perpetual victims it seems. These men are frankly ridiculous. I get fed up of the men in dresses and their victimhood.

I don't care. I won't be silenced and I don't seek to negotiate with the left because they have the brains of teenagers. There's no such thing as a trans woman, there are only men who choose to wear dresses and I have no sympathy.

There are 2 important factors.

The average woman is the approximately same strength as an average 12 year old boy. Before men transition and live "live as women" they might want to consider how it feels to be a fully grown adult, with the strength equivalent of a child. Thats what it feels like to be a woman.

The second important factor is that most violence that is done to women is a) done by men b) majority of the time it is sexually motivated and c) is done behind closed doors. Therefore the single-sex spaces that women are trying to protect have a function.

Absolutely this

Vast majority of trans women do not want to disadvantage women. You live in fear because of a tiny majority that is being blown our of proportion (on places like Mumsnet too). How many trans women do you actually know and how many of them tried to harm you in any way? I guess the number is zero, but you still feel the need to rant and be 'fed up with them'. Get out from your cave, go and talk to trans people, they dont bite.

Is a trans woman a man? Or a woman dressing up as a man? Im just curious

What rights are transgender people being deprived of?

The "right" to use unconsenting women as validation tools and unwilling participants in there fantasies/fetishs

Helleofabore · 19/09/2025 17:32

“There is no such thing as the 'right' to access spaces that belong to the opposite sex.”

This is what we keep saying.

Human rights rightfully cover the provision of single sex spaces accessible to the general public, on the basis that no one within that sex category should expect the right to privacy from their own sex. Meaning, sex segregation is legitimate. However, segregation on the basis of another protected characteristic is a not reasonable demand. For instance, male toilets should not be further segregated by sexual orientation, race, or religion for instance. It is also not the responsibility of organisations to provide any alternative if a group of people reject the provision based on their sex. They can, of course, choose to. But that is a special provision.

When gender identity is prioritised over sex when sex matters, the demand is that some male people will access female single sex provisions. This means that male people with transgender identities not only have access to male provisions that they can use, they also want access to female single sex provisions.

This means they would have full access to all the provisions provided by that organisation. This is an additional privilege and not available to any other group of male people over the age of about 8 years old.

Which other group gets such special treatment by way of additional privileges? (ie. Not based on basic human rights?)

Not all men bite but some do, including some that claim they identify as women.

That's one of the reasons we exclude men from women's spaces - to protect the dignity, privacy and safety of women and girls. They're excluded because they're men.
Claiming they identify as women doesn't overide that exclusion.

If, as you claim, transwomen don't want to disadvantage women, 100% of them would stay out of women's spaces without having to be told to.

On another note, I am glad there are threads in Trans issues outside of FWR, it's not just an issue for feminists.

Absolutely there is a reason some want these discussions hidden in FWR.

This is not just a feminist issue. It affects all women.

TheKeatingFive · 19/09/2025 17:20

Trans people already have the same rights as anyone else.

There is no such thing as the 'right' to access spaces that belong to the opposite sex.

I'm in an online support group for endometriosis. We've had them trying to join the group and then calling us transphobic and sending hate/threatening messages because we don't want them in it. It's women with the condition sharing details of their illness and supporting each other. We're there for each other, not for men to play at being women with.

There was a menopause support group infiltrated by a TIM. the group had to give up the meeting room they used and convene in someone's house. They are completely unstable.

On another note, I am glad there are threads in Trans issues outside of FWR, it's not just an issue for feminists.

Those who hold beliefs that are unprovable and often clearly wrong
have no right
to force others to act as if that belief is true

I can equally care about the potential stress points between women’s rights and transgender rights and be concerned about the growing backlash against transgender people.

Is part of the reason there is a backlash because of the lack of concern for women’s needs by some transgender advocates? Absolutely. That still doesn’t mean transgender people don’t deserve rights and dignity.

You do understand that all of us you are currently annoyed at said precisely that almost 2 decades ago?

Yes. People with transgender identities have specific rights that need to be protected. They need to not be discriminated against for their belief about themselves as does the rest of the population. And there are some transgender rights activists that are rightfully working towards ensuring those rights are maintained. As they should.

The issue is with a group of activists and their supporters that are activating for extreme rights claims. Where gender identity is prioritised above sex even when sex matters. In that sense, these activists are demanding additional privileges while falsely declaring that these are basic rights.

@HerNeighbourTotoro "you still feel the need to rant and be 'fed up with them'. Get out from your cave, go and talk to trans people, they dont bite."

Does this advice apply to everyone? I mean, would you suggest this to Muslims for example?

Toseland · 19/09/2025 17:00

So tired of the 'both sides' statement.
No, it's men aggressively demanding access to women's rights on their say so and women defending themselves.
Men waging a war on women.
They are men with a sexual fetish that enjoy breaking women's boundaries and making women frightened.
They are using your children as cover.
I was trapped and sexually harrassed by a "transwoman" being inappropriate in the ladies loos when I was 5 years old. It's really affected my life.

@Hoardasaurus we've been through just about everything our legal team can come up with. We've had to exhaust a couple of legal avenues first but we are going to do something I find quite shocking (like seeking to have him committed!!) whilst also seeking redress against his parents.

End of tether actions!

LakieLady · 18/09/2025 20:23

I agree, and it's rare to read a post on here that recognises that.

I live near a city that I suspect has a higher than average trans population. I have trans friends, colleagues and clients.

Some of the transphobia on here has really upset me on occasions. I just don't get the hate for trans people at all.

Perhaps the issue is that you see women rejecting that a male person should ever be treated as if they are female if they demand as only ever being hateful.

No male person should be treated as if they were female when they are male when the sex is relevant to the situation for single sex provision. And no one should be coerced in any way to act as if a male person can be a female person.

This is not hateful to say.

SamphiretheTervosaur · 19/09/2025 16:26

Yes. Three of them over the last decade

It doesn't stop him as the 'punishment' to date has been stymied by the bank of mum and dad and some very good psychiatric reports!

Can you add his parents to the court order or sue them for enabling and facilitating his harassment?
Also I know that the police are likely to ignore any reports about this man but hes stalking and harassing your self/colleagues and conspiring with others to do so which are all crimes that he should be arrested and charged for. If you/your service report him every single time he contacts anyone involved with the service or turns up eventually the police will have to deal with him

Ahh Samph! This sounds like it is just getting worse and worse.

He was quite quiet for a year or so but in March this year he came back, all guns blazing.

Our legal bods are working on a more extreme solution, we may have to go back to our grassroot support for finances, yet again, but he should be an ex problem in the next few months

KilkennyCats · 19/09/2025 16:34

We aren't! He has never been a client either

What he is us well connected, has friends in various local government departments. He is very well informed on when we have stakeholder meetings and, if we dont have the full support of the hosting venue, he is given access

And trust me, even out here in the boonies, there are a lot of weirdly angry local government receptionists, administrative assistants etc

😮

They certainly are.

The one who objects to us running the trans service wants our funding, all the paperwork (he doesn't trust us to keep his 'trans siblings' data safe, despite him being the one who has already doxxed me and one of our therapists) and the lease on the building to be turned over to him. He has no experience, no ability to run the service and constantly plonks himself in the middle of meetings and demands to be referred to as the 'convener' of the service

He is absolutely shameless and wholly bankrolled by absentee parents. This seems to be his calling!!!

And no, no legal remonstration has ever worked for more than a few weeks. He has cost us a fortune, taking money out of the frontline, directly reducing the number of clients we can help

Ahh Samph! This sounds like it is just getting worse and worse.
