Backlash against Trans women

ITVeveningnewsclip · 18/09/2025 19:24

(Story on ITV news about drag performer who died after taking drug ketamine, not suicide, just a regular user it seems who took more than usual.) Thus post isn't about him.

Anyway, bloke during story moaned that 'we are currently seeing a backlash against trans at the moment, particularly trans women' (men), and 'that's not a world I want to live in'.

I mean seriously, the TRA has been abusive to women for years for even mentioning any concerns, yet now trans women are victims (again). Perpetual victims it seems. These men are frankly ridiculous. I get fed up of the men in dresses and their victimhood.

Do you not believe that some men -like some women- can be really vulnerable?

In the same way a fox is vulnerable from other foxes. It does not mean he is as vulnerable as hens and should be in the henhouse. Even a vulnerable man has Male Privilege. (and male strength and height)

I agree, and it's rare to read a post on here that recognises that.

I live near a city that I suspect has a higher than average trans population. I have trans friends, colleagues and clients.

Some of the transphobia on here has really upset me on occasions. I just don't get the hate for trans people at all.

Define 'transphobia'. Women defending our hard won sex-based rights? Saying NO to males? Do tell us what your definition of 'transphobia' is, and I'll tell you what femphobia is.

It's not hate for 'trans' people. You simply don't get it and have never taken to tie to look below surface level and understand our concerns. It is hate for MALES who enter our spaces, call us 'menstruators' and 'cervix havers', have us reduced to 'birthing person' and 'chest feeders' on health forms, and re-design the entirety of society to suit a fetish. It's a FEMINIST backlash against privileged MALES. It's not about 'trans' per se. Read these (all from male trans trans activists) and you will understand why women and girls justifiably feel not just scared, but absolutely FUCKING ANGRY at what is basically a violent, dangerous, malignant misogynist movement re-branded as 'trans':

Vast majority of trans women do not want to disadvantage women. You live in fear because of a tiny majority that is being blown our of proportion (on places like Mumsnet too). How many trans women do you actually know and how many of them tried to harm you in any way? I guess the number is zero, but you still feel the need to rant and be 'fed up with them'. Get out from your cave, go and talk to trans people, they dont bite.

  1. Then why isn't this 'vast majority' SPEAKING OUT against the violent trans activists who want to rape and bash women for speaking about our rights? If they are such a 'majority', why aren't they putting a stop to violent trans activist extremism?
  2. The vast majority of us have worked with narcissistic transwomen or know them. That is why we became 'terf'. I genuinely think those defending transwomen have never, ever, ever met one in real life hence why they defend them.
TheBeaTgoeson1 · 19/09/2025 05:57

This post seems original for Mumsnet.

Whatsallthisthen2025 · 19/09/2025 03:56

Nobody ever thought men were women, in any way, and nobody really cared much that a few of them slithered around in women's spaces till they threatened rape, murder, abuse and became really loud and often dangerous, till men started getting put in women's prisons, women's sports and other places that are women's only, and demanding things they had no right to, as men. Which is what they always were and always will be.

Any "backlash" is just a return to normality where nobody's pretending men are women anymore, we've returned to the real language of men or cross dressing men and they can learn to accept their sex and the fact that they have always had the exact same rights as all other men - or not. That's a them problem.

This. TRAs are trans women’s very worst enemy. They cause division, slap horrific labels on anyone who doesn’t 110% conform to their views, and insist on the erosion of the rights of 50% of the population for the benefit of less than 1% of the population. I feel for trans people who are just quietly trying to find their place and space in this world, and for women who are trying to protect their safety and the spaces they’ve fought to make safe.

Extremists of any kind are the worst enemies of the community they claim to represent.

This is what I see too - most trans women are reasonable, understanding people who just want to go about their lives in peace - but while the TRA exist, and try to insist transwomen belong in women’s single sex spaces transwomen will be loathed. TRAs are trans people’s worst enemies!.

spoonbillstretford · 19/09/2025 02:50

The main danger to transwomen and transmen is male violence, the same as it is for other men, women and children. Hence everyone potentially ending up in women's spaces. Yet apparently it's uppity women and girls who are the issue. Go figure.

PurpleAxe · 19/09/2025 02:45

Isn't it funny that women have been dealing with this Trans bullshit for years.

And mostly it was just let slide, all the violent threats, all of the indignity, all of the assaults, and injustice.

Now though, now these creeps are a problem for men (killing a MAN, trying to get MEN to sleep with them, harassing/tricking MEN, inconveniencing MEN). Now it isn't funny anymore and there is backlash.

Fuck me, it drives home that women just don't matter doesn't it?

I mean I am happy to see the gender bullshit crumbling. But it pisses me right the fuck off that it took them bothering MEN before society actually gave a damn.

It will probably end up women's fault though. Both ways.

eatfigs · 19/09/2025 02:32

I think it's best to avoid calling these men women. Doing so lends support to their sexist beliefs.

I'm curious about how you feel about the hate that some women get when they simply express concerns?

Do you see how that hate can in turn cause people to be more blunt and harsh than they would be if they were allowed to have a civilised discussion about their concerns?

We listened to trans people. That’s what fucking peaked us

x.com/marycatedelvey/status/1897370783816790064?s=46&t=ujkdP8xmA6DNFeYFKmnldg

Some of those things that men who identify as women say as recorded there are absolutely horrific.
Alok’s creepy comment about little girls being kinky is not ok in any form of reality.

Long Chu’s comments about “At the centre of sissy porn lies the asshole, a kind of universal vagina through which femaleness can always be accessed.” along with “"Getting fucked makes you female because fucked is what a female is."

Seriously… women need to wake up NOW to what some of these men are really thinking about you.

I understand what you're saying.

Can you separate hatred of someone's actions from hatred of the person? That's what you're seeing here.

Very, very few Mumsnetters - or people in the UK, I would guess; we're still a tolerant nation - actually hate trans people.

Those who hate the existence of trans people tend to be vehemently conservative individuals, willing to fight transgressions of their rigid beliefs in sex-limited social roles. Most such people are religious fundamentalists, more likely to be found in America or the Islamic world than here.

Britain, like the rest of Western Europe, suffered hundreds of years of religious intolerance and is deeply committed to steering clear of that shit. We ditched our residual homophobia fifty years ago now: you'd be pushed to find anyone so defensive of masculinity that they revile gay or feminine-leaning men. People like that still exist, of course, but their views are unpopular.

The transphobia of which you speak isn't hatred of men who feel like they're women. We don't hate women who feel like royalty, children who feel they are horses, or the messed-up guys on the Tube who feel they're being followed by demons. Our collective response is a shrug. If we're in a good mood, we might ask them if they're okay. That's about it.

We expect equivalent tolerance. If the 'royal' woman demands obeisance, we refuse. She's free to believe we are her subjects, but not to force others to role-play with her. If someone played along with the child by saddling her up, we'd report them for cruelty. The haunted guy may believe his fellow passengers are demons, he may not attempt to exorcise them. The trans woman's free to believe s/he has changed sex, not to require everyone else to agree they really have.

I don't believe it is phobic or hateful to say "Yes, I understand this is how you feel. If it makes you happy, great! I'll ask you, though, to understand that my sex is genetically female and some things are limited, for reasons of safety and fairness, to people of one genetic sex or the other." They may find it a bit upsetting but, in my experience, generally accept that this is reasonable.

The ones who call it transphobic are demanding that everyone must role-play along with them. This is unacceptable: they are, effectively, requiring me to deny my own sex, my physical reality. In doing this, I'd have to surrender my rights to privacy, fairness and things like medical safety (and more, because being physically female has ramifications in all areas of life).

I've never hated another person in my life. I think it is reasonable to hate beliefs and behaviours that harm me (or other people) or seek to impair my rights. I've met a couple of influential Muslim leaders. I'd say they are good men: intelligent, thoughtful, morally observant. They believe in FGM. I respected who they are as individuals, enjoyed their discourse on relative rights and obligations, and I fucking hate their commitment to cutting out women's clitorises. You can understand that, can't you?

We can respect the human being, accept that their beliefs are sincere, and hate the effects of their beliefs.

They are all identical in one major, fundamental way - they’re all men.

The mere fact that a man, any man, can claim to be a woman, mimic women, enter women’s spaces, expect others to see them as women, is enough to show that they are disadvantaging women.
Your use of the term ‘rant’ speaks volumes.

This.

What makes a person "trans" ?

A court in Australia said it was a V neck top and long hair
nothing more

So how do women who need / want single sex spaces decide which male born people to exclude ?

Deluded males, non deluded males or ALL males ?

Exactly.

I am confused by how he linked the topic of transgenderism to a deceased drag performer?!

So am I, but he did. Rambled on about poor trans women. He basically used the story of the death of drag performer to make his point about in particular men who are trans identified women. It didn't fit the 'story' hence me fed up of making everything 'poor trans women '

Why is the death of someone taking an illegal substance anything to do with backlash against transwomen? They did it to themselves they made themselves a victim 🙄 nothing to do with backlash

A friend of the drag performer made that claim when he was interviewed about the death of drag performer. I thought it was an odd thing to say since nothing to do with death of said drag performer.
