Are full stops passive aggressive?

Are full stops really passive-aggressive now? According to my colleague they are, especially in text messages. Apparently, ending a sentence correctly is no longer “neutral” but somehow comes across as cold or hostile.

yabu= full stops are indeed PA
yanbu= of course they’re not

I mean, if someone wants to take offence at the traditional use of punctuation, then I suppose we can just let them- they would be small loss.

People can be passive aggressive; full stops can not. Period.

Apparently so, if you are under 30 and it's in a text/whatsapp/snapchat/whatever message.

I still use punctuation in most of my text messages, even to my 20-something DCs, but I am ancient.

I mean when they are used correctly at the end of the sentence. I know it sounds bat shit but that is what she told me.

I think they are in the instance where you would perhaps use an exclamation mark if you were being genuine.
