And could I find my phone?! Obviously not!

Got it. The alert thing didn’t stay on long and isn’t a text so I didn’t have time to read the message. Not much good unless you can easily find out what it is for including in a place with bad phone or 4G or WiFi to look it up. Maybe it is a notification but I’m not sure how to access them.

ResusciAnnie · 07/09/2025 15:10

I didn't have one before. Wasn't particularly alarming which is good. Did the job but not OTT.

ErrolTheDinosaur · 07/09/2025 15:10

Mine was a bit after 3:00 I think, and DHs maybe half a minute later.
The message that appeared on my Lock Screen disappeared again before I’d half read it (and I already had my reading glasses on). Does it stay on till you dismiss it if there’s a real alert?Confused

My fault for not checking the news, I was holding my phone in my hand and almost chucked it across the room 😂

😆😆😆

BurntBroccoli · 07/09/2025 15:10

Nothing here!

Fionasapples · 07/09/2025 15:09

Me too, even though I knew it was going to happen!

FuzzyWolf · 07/09/2025 15:09

Mine was quite quiet compared to what I was expecting. All the phones in the house went off at a different time.

Sodastreamin · 07/09/2025 15:09

I knew someone would start a thread about it! Haha
Honestly, the amount of drama surrounding a short noise on one occasion in order to make sure an alert service works correctly before it’s ever required (hopefully never) in the event of flooding/wildfires etc, is truly baffling.
Yes they should’ve done this years ago like the US etc but they didn’t. Then we had lots of flooding & some wildfires - one not far from me that I think is still ongoing right now, spreading across moors so bad that the London Fire Brigade had to travel up - and so they’ve now decided they need a more direct alert system so they’re testing it 🤷🏼‍♀️ What on earth is the big deal?!?

Rowgtfc72 · 07/09/2025 15:09

Dd came downstairs to say hers hadn't gone off at 3.02. As it went off. We're with Tesco. They were late.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 07/09/2025 15:09

DD is on her way back from a school trip. I wonder if the whole coach full of ternager’s phones went off at once?

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 07/09/2025 15:08

Mine wasn't loud at all.
Last time, it scared the living daylights out of me.

Barbie222 · 07/09/2025 15:06

Yeah, you wouldn’t miss that!

Bonbon21 · 07/09/2025 15:06

EmpressSisi · 07/09/2025 15:06

I had completely forgot about the test 🫣😬

Strangely, my husband’s didn’t go off and he was complaining about it, only for it to off at 3:01 (and it made me jump again 🤣)

Bjorkdidit · 07/09/2025 15:06

Mine wasn't as loud as I expected. I'm listening with earbuds and was worried about blasted eardrums but it was fairly mild.

LizzieSiddal · 07/09/2025 15:06

Mine only beeped 3 times and not very loudly.

Is that normal?!

I was sewing and pricked my finger. Damn annoying.

I forgot and was listening to a podcast. I can confirm that it works through headphones.

This is why I turned off the Bluetooth to my hearing aids!!

Hoppinggreen · 07/09/2025 15:06

DDog not happy

rainbowstardrops · 07/09/2025 15:06

I was just coming on to say that I didn’t think it was very loud!
I’d just walked in from the kitchen and picked my phone up to check the time on my phone and that’s when it went off. I’m not sure I’d have heard it if I was in another room 😬 Oh and my iPad didn’t go off. Not sure if it should have done?

GentleSheep · 07/09/2025 15:05

Mine didn't work again! DP's phone gave me a fright!

incognitomouse · 07/09/2025 15:04

I was driving. I think my soul left my body.

Same! Only I was looking at mine 🤣

Me too! Nearly threw it across the room 😂
