I was shouting at the TV while she was saying all that! “Well none of us have lived perfect lives” 😱

Textbook narcissist/cluster B abusive parent. Never take accountability or acknowledge reality. If they aren't actively blaming their victim it's 'well, sorry I wasn't PERFECT...'

Plastictreees · 05/09/2025 20:48

Yeah poor L will need intensive therapy. Hopefully she can heal and extricate herself from her mother’s toxic web.

Dinosaurshoebox · 05/09/2025 20:46

I've seen Lauryn is studying criminal psychology or such.

I really hope she gets the help she needs becuase otherwise she is never going to be competent in any such professional field.

She's shown peadophile behaviour and feduarl level stalking.

Its criminal that she's out.

I think her peadophile behaviour was minimised in the documentary. She was clearly obsessed with Owen, who was just a young boy. The texts she sent were absolutely disgusting and obscene.

Her sentence is a joke. She should be on the sex offenders register.

britinnyc · 05/09/2025 20:43

I still have some many questions, I can away from it having no idea why she did it, none of what she said made sense. Why was she lying about having a job? Clearly she has some very significant mental health issues and completely lacks empathy or comprehension of just how f’d up what she did was. She was so blase about it. I can’t even believe she did this documentary and day and gave interviews about early on in the case and how upset she was about what was happening and how she tried to help figure out who it was. She was basically acting through half of it.

Well done for ruining the ending for those that haven’t watched it OP @WhereIsMyJumper

It's a documentary? Not a drama. It was covered in the news nearly 3 years ago. Maybe don't click on threads if you don't want "spoilers" into someone's real life trauma.

WhereIsMyJumper · 05/09/2025 20:34

She served time and was released before it was filmed I assume?

Did she send the original texts or didn’t she? I am not soo sure.

Yes. The sheriff said there is no way it was anyone else. I believe his theory over her any day!

I watched this a few days ago and almost started a thread on it. I was so shocked it was her mother! Some of the things she said were absolutely disgusting. I agree that how she clung to her daughter and said she needed to be with her was not an easy watch and I could have screamed at her at the end when she explained why what she did wasn't that bad and we all make mistakes.

I also thought it was brave of her to do the documentary but then realised it was probably because she didn't think what she did was that bad.

WhereIsMyJumper · 05/09/2025 20:34

Did that couple accuse the daughter of knowing about it as well and being in on it or did I not understand what they were saying??
I didn’t get that vibe myself, just feel like the daughter was a victim of her psychotic mother!

How is she not being interviewed from jail?

I just can't understand how as a parent you would put your child through this. The sexual texts also 🤢🤢

What was the purpose because it definitely wasn't to protect her daughter. Did she have a thing for the boyfriend? Surely not?!!

I was gobsmacked when the perpetrators was revealed, it was just mind boggling how anybody could do that!

That poor girl is badly abused and brainwashed that she cannot stop herself from wanting to be in her mothers life.

I felt so uncomfortable the way she was clinging to her daughter when the police officer came with the search warrant.

I think the school superintendent was right … she has a form of Munchausen’s.

I thought this too, so intense and suffocating the way she was clinging on all over her. She was probably like this with her over anything.

Montereyjaaack · 05/09/2025 20:31

It’s one of the worst scenarios I’ve ever seen. When the police arrived and told them what they were there for I actually thought her daughter looked like she knew already. Like she knows but didn’t want to know. And in the aftermath it’s still like that.
Unbelievable cruelty

She did. The police confirmed it.

Youllnevergetabetterbitofbutteronyourknife · 05/09/2025 20:20

I just couldn't believe a mother would do that to her own child! It was very disturbing. I too was very uncomfortable, watching the mother clinging to the very child that she had told to go kill herself! It honestly beggars belief!

Agree with this.

I think that the DD and husband must be living with trauma around this. Even the letters written were designed to emotionally blackmail.

I agree. I found her disturbing to watch. Trying to suggest that she was doing it to somehow catch the original perpetrator (it was obviously her!) or to try and protect her daughter somehow?! By telling her to kill herself? wtf?
