Oh they reveal themselves. You can tell. Male socialisation comes through in their language.

Yep, it does. I've said that myself on here yet was shut down. They out themselves with their language. They genuinely don't realise that we know from their language. Males are such a different sex that they truly don't know what it is that we know and they don't.

ThatBlackCat · 06/09/2025 07:26

YANBU, I think it's worse when it's men who pretend to be a woman posting while attacking womens rights. This site should, by rights, be a safe space from that.

Feminism means we get to vote, and they get to make the occasional post on Mumsnet. Equality and all that. I feel pretty OK about that trade off personally.

Eh? Nobody said they CAN"T post on mumsnet and that has nothing - absolutely literally nothing at all to do - with feminism or voting. What a bizarre non sequitur.

What women are saying is they wish that men would just fuck off from this one site. Men "get" to do whatever they want most of the time, everywhere, and it would be great if they would simply fuck off from this one site.

I meant inappropriate posts about children 🤦🏼‍♀️

Sorry - I have a tendency to post late at night - when I’m tired (I’m in Australia).

Yep, you're right. I do not welcome them at all. The world is full of pushy, loud mouthed men, if I want to hear them talk endlessly at me there's no problem at all finding as many as I like.

And yep, men (as a sex) are far more aggressive about sex, ignorant and pushy when it comes to women's sexual experiences and far, far, far more likely to post something really dodgy about children.

The decent men, like my husband and adult son, would have no interest in this place at all, so unfortunately that means it's mainly annoying ignoramuses who want to troll, lecture, be disgusting, minimise or otherwise throw their weight around who turn up on mumsnet.

As a happily married woman who has no problem at all with men in general, they do not belong on mumsnet and I wish they would just fuck off.

thebabayaga2025 · 06/09/2025 07:12

Absolutely 100 percent agree. I would NEVER post on a site called Dadsnet, no interest at all. Decent men don't post here, so right away as soon as I see it's a man I assume he's a pushy wanker.

Zanatdy · 06/09/2025 05:45

YABU. I see far more issues with the women on here (and their passive aggressive, blunt and often really rude responses) than men.

JustReal · 06/09/2025 05:31

I have mixed feelings about it TBH.

It helps to have a mans perspective on things, sometimes.

Also, they seem to come here to seek the guidance of women.

Maybe they don't have anyone to reach out to for an objective opinion for their whatever situation.

As long as they aren't rude, I don't mind, overly.

Muffinmam · 06/09/2025 05:28

Muffinmam · 05/09/2025 17:00

It’s a place for women. There’s been a sudden uptick with not only men posting but inappropriate posts about chosen.

why are you not complaining against non-mums being on the forum then?

At least be consistent.

Wasn't a complaint! I was just responding to a comment asking where the impression this was for women had come from

Raskolnikov84 · 06/09/2025 01:47

Women who think that men should not post on a parenting forum are unlikely to provide sound advice on [checks notes] “womanship”, or on any other topic for that matter.

TheWorminLabyrinth · 05/09/2025 17:28

It is entirely justified though. Men hate women. If they could be sexually attracted to each other, and exploit the labour of each other, then they wouldn't form relationships with women. Lucky they have you defending them though Hmm

(Absolutely no need for the NAMALT/Not My Nigel brigade to tell me how wrong I am).

IF men could be sexually attracted to each other?

Do... Do you not know about gay men? Or bi men?

And men exploit each other all the time

This is such a dumb post

"There's no need to tell me I'm wrong when I make ridiculous comments"

Whataboutery................

Literally is a legit question

If men aren't allowed on basis of the MUMS part of the name then surely neither are non mums?

😆😆😆😆

This thread is not about that though is it?!! So away with your whataboutery!

Once you’ve used the term “whataboutery”, you may as well go home.

Didimum · 05/09/2025 21:39

The level of denial by some on here on who this website is ‘for’ is truly weird.

Mumsnet didn’t appear from the ether cosmically bestowed on those with a vagina.

It’s a commercial enterprise and is for whoever its creators say it’s for.

Edited

But they still talk about “Justine” like she’s their mate.

SmurfnoffIce · 06/09/2025 00:40

Figgiepud · 05/09/2025 17:35

Then It shouldn't be called mumsnet.

Newsflash - no one has had a carphone in the last 30 years.

I’m not defending anyone, simply saying that broad hatred of any single group is really thick.

what is your evidence for saying “men hate women”? And don’t trot out the bullshit “victims of violence line” because it’s dumb. The people most likely to fall victim to male violence are men. So how does that tally with your view that men would marry men if they could?

it’s just a really thick argument that I’m fed up with seeing. I am a feminist, doesn’t mean I hate men and the views you promote give rational women a bad name.

POTC · 05/09/2025 23:33

As someone who grew up in a house with only my dad as parent, I think it's fantastic there are dads here. If mine had been able to ask advice from mumsnet, the life of him, me, and my siblings would have benefited hugely. Asking advice of dadsnet wouldn't have helped when there are so few dads in that situation

NoThanksNeeded · 05/09/2025 23:30

roseclouds · 05/09/2025 17:52

well I havent ever seen a woman do this, only men so far. I wonder why that is.....

How do you actually know the sex of any poster?

brunettemic · 05/09/2025 23:20

Given some of the absolute batshit women in here I quite enjoy them balancing things out.

TinyTempest · 05/09/2025 22:47

GasperyJacquesRoberts · 05/09/2025 22:12

There are women who post in the dadsnet topic on mumsnet. Is that what you mean?

That's true. I've seen a few threads asking for 'male perspective' etc.

GasperyJacquesRoberts · 05/09/2025 22:12

vinegarforeverything · 05/09/2025 22:10

I bet there's no women on Dadsnet is there.

Why is that then?
