I don't see why men are on here ,I don't want their opinion,I'm sick of men ,
This should be a women only space

why?

On which ground should this forum be a "women only space"? It never has been and never will.

Why not creating your own female only space if you need one?

Dontlletmedownbruce · 05/09/2025 17:42

I agree @TinyTempest I always presume posters like that are racist too.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 05/09/2025 17:39

I'm not a man, neither am I a parent...am I allowed here?

Dontlletmedownbruce · 05/09/2025 17:39

Men hate women.

Is that so @TheWorminLabyrinth ?? All of them? Are you sure they just don't hate you??

what exactly made you believe this forum had anything to do with "women" specifically?

What male comments undermining women have you seen?

What about the guy 2 or 3 weeks ago who went onto a thread about VAWG and how op was scared of running alone, and absolutely derailed it by saying he also suffered violence so it wasn't just a women's issue, and then all his defenders jumped in so op never got to discuss her issue?

Haha til the next person puts out a call for PigletJohn , or has a complicated legal question re schools admissions and the shout goes up for prh47bridge .

Men as parents: v welcome by me.

Also helpful when men give a male perspective in support of a woman with suspicions or evidence.

Nine of us got to be parents without men.

The presence of men here doesn’t compromise our experience as mothers.

My eyes are hurting with all the eye rolling I'm doing 🙄

Figgiepud · 05/09/2025 17:35

Then It shouldn't be called mumsnet.

I agree OP.
Why would men want to go into female spaces …

No idea but what does that have to do with this thread considering MN is not a female space and never has been?

Making and caring for are quite different things.

TheWorminLabyrinth · 05/09/2025 17:28

It is entirely justified though. Men hate women. If they could be sexually attracted to each other, and exploit the labour of each other, then they wouldn't form relationships with women. Lucky they have you defending them though Hmm

(Absolutely no need for the NAMALT/Not My Nigel brigade to tell me how wrong I am).

It must be awful to be so eaten up with hatred for nearly half the world's population.

Do you also wrap yourself in an England flag and stand outside hotels?

Or is your bigotry reserved only for men?

Mrsmunchofmunchington · 05/09/2025 17:34

5128gap · 05/09/2025 17:33

If they don't start with that ridiculous NAMALTing and MRA nonsense, I'm ambivalent. I certainly don't subscribe to all the excitement about a 'male perspective', as if there's one thing the world doesn't lack, it's the opinions of men. We hear quite enough of them elsewhere and I value a space for women's voices and perspectives to dominate.

I actually find the rampant & open hatred of men the most depressing aspect of mumsnet.

broad hatred towards any single group is just thick as fuck.

Yabu

Figgiepud · 05/09/2025 17:26

On most interesting threads, it's quite obvious.

Icon15 · 05/09/2025 17:26

How can you possibly know which posters are male and which are female? Posts here are anonymous.

I could tell you that I'm a 47-year-old (who happens to be male) with two kids in their teens.

On the other hand I could say I'm a 73-year-old great grandmother whose 17-year-old granddaughter had a baby 3 weeks ago.

I'm actually neither of the above, but that's the point. We have no means of verifying any information that posters disclose about themselves.

Figgiepud · 05/09/2025 17:26

Briantheguitargod · 05/09/2025 17:24

Unless a male poster says they are a man, how would you know?
for all I know the op could be a male!
no one knows who anyone is.

eh, it's usually rather obvious. And, absolutely, OP could very much be male. I'd say there is a good chance.

Figgiepud · 05/09/2025 17:24

Not keen on male posters, it's' always obvious who's not female.

Not keen on being addressed as ladies either, especially on this thread as it sounds patronising.

Mumsnet should change its name to parentnet as clearly MN are wanting a male user base to boost clicks. Mumsnet is misleading as a name now.

gamerchick · 05/09/2025 17:22

Ooo it's been at least a couple of weeks since the last why are men here thread. Must be a record

It's always been that way OP and will always be that way.
