We have to catch a flight this evening and our bedding is not in a good state after a night and day of sickness bug. I have no time to now wash it. Is it too awful to leave it on and wash when we return? It’s cheap bedding and I’m now wondering if we throw it out rather than leave it?!

Jesus.

Bedding in bin liners and take to dump on way to airport.

Order new while you’re away.

I read this as ‘and take a dump on way to airport’ and was wondering what it meant, like it would make them less infectious or something 😅

BellissimoGecko · 05/09/2025 22:06

you are completely unreasonable for getting on a plane with a sickness bug.

You are also completely unreasonable and minging to think about leaving dirty bedding on your bed while you go away. 🤢🤢🤢 Throw it out, for God’s sake.

Sigh.... It's Friday, the weekend, Spot the posters who make one wind up post and vanish.

mrscoreytaylor · 05/09/2025 21:58

Eeewww
dirty bitch

Gymnopediegivesmethewillies · 05/09/2025 21:41

Is it me or does Friday always bring out the weird posts?

Nope. The information I posted is from NHS.

I posted the info from the NHS and added a link.
Norovirus is not considered an airborne pathogen in the strict sense.
But vomiting can create short-lived aerosols that carry the virus, which is why outbreaks spread so quickly in closed environments like planes

Are people really being sick in their beds? I cannot imagine anything more disgusting. You MAKE yourself get to the bathroom if you are going to be sick - NO excuse.

I wish you nothing but the best dose of projectile Noro.

You're welcome.

How did people get by before being able to run each daily decision past people on the internet 🤣

How did people, or do people get by with only 1 set of bedding? It's like the dark ages!

I was sharing a bed with my daughter when she was 2.... "Mummy?"
"Y..."
She turned over and was sick in my mouth just as I was saying yes.

That's when you need to write a song about it.

YABU - leaving soiled sick sheets on beds!
YABVU - getting on a plane with a D&V bug!!

GoldPoster · 05/09/2025 20:09

Does travel insurance payout for cancelling a holiday due to a minor illness unverified by a GP? I don’t think some people live in the real world. Of course their going to catch the plane!

Of course there are excuses, don’t be ridiculous. Our whole family had a chest infection that had to be treated with Doxycyclene, which made everyone ill. My elderly mother was sick and had the runs in her bed because she was too weak to get up and go to the bathroom. Try a bit of critical thinking before you post something like this because it’s ridiculous and not at all representative of real life.

Ok you better contact the NHS to inform them as you clearly know better.

Rosscameasdoody · 05/09/2025 17:52

Wrong. Sorry. Norovirus can be spread through the air, particularly when someone vomits - small particles can become airborne and be inhaled by others. It can also be spread by coughing and sneezing. Virus laden droplets in the air after a vomiting episode allows for airborne transmission. Direct contact with someone who has norovirus and touching surfaces or contaminated things then touching your mouth, or food and water which has been handled or otherwise contaminated can also spread it.

Ok you better contact the NHS to inform them as you clearly know better.

Childanddogmama · 05/09/2025 19:53

Grim.

Ginburee · 05/09/2025 19:50

I am judging you more for getting on a plane with a sickness bug.
How utterly selfish of you.

MarioLink · 05/09/2025 19:42

Yuk and do not get on the plane. How utterly selfish.

All these holier than thou replies are hilarious. I think most people would be on that flight even if there was a chance of shitting yourself mid journey.

There’s the journey to the airport, with no access to a toilet though.

I really don’t think many people would run the risk of shitting themselves in public (ie if they had a proper sickness bug). I definitely wouldn’t. Me literally walking around covered in shit for several hours until I arrive at my destination is not worth the cost of rebooking the flight.

namechangedforvalidreasons · 05/09/2025 19:33

Chuck it

GleisZwei · 05/09/2025 19:06

Please don't get on a plane if you've had a bug.
Reschedule, and wash your sheets.

Rosscameasdoody · 05/09/2025 19:03

DonnaBanana · 05/09/2025 18:12

Depends what you mean by not in a good state. Never have I ever thrown up or got poo on my bedding no matter how violently ill I was and nor should any adult of sound mind for that matter. If it’s just a bit sweaty and “ick” it’s hardly going to mutate into a giant ball of bacteria in a week so just wash it when you get back!

Some disabled people are of perfectly sound mind, but their physical disability means that they have indeed got vomit and poo on their sheets. It’s a bit disingenuous to suggest that you’d have to have a MH condition to do this.

GentleJadeOP · 05/09/2025 18:07

Yup, me too.

Behave. If you could hold yourself together to get on the flight and didn’t look unwell you’d be there with bells on and you can’t convince me otherwise. As if anyone has considerations for other passengers, I refuse to believe it 😂

No, you “behave”. I couldn’t care less if I can’t convince you otherwise. The lack of consideration for others is a real problem in society and I try my best not to contribute to that. It’s a real shame that you don’t believe it exists at all.

RobertJohnsonsShoes · 05/09/2025 18:32

SummerEve · 05/09/2025 18:13

Really? I don’t. Not to mention the fact that the crew would likely refuse to board a visibly unwell passenger to avoid having to put the plane down before reaching its destination.

I wonder if the hooves ruin the sheets!
