Is one spoilt entitled brat who has broken his parents hearts, not that I am a great fan of the Beckhams, at least they have worked all their lives and would not betray their parents!

You only have to look at Holly Ramsay & her three new designer handbags to see where these people’s interests lie.

Pippa Middleton probably has a ton, the mistake is to show & tell. Why the constant need to do this?

They might stop with their Harper plans. A wake up call?
Being female, she’ll get a much worse time than the lads.

Go to Uni, have that experience.

She is ambitious but she has very little natural talent. She probably doesn't have the capacity to appreciate the things you mention.

A Nepo baby who spears to have no talent of his own. 🙄

They pimped out their three sons to build brand Beckham.

I admire VB, she's very ambitious clearly. What puzzles me is that she and others like her, who are fortunate enough to have a great deal of money, don't prioritise cultural development, a classical education/the academics or second language acquisition etc for their children. Some I know from ordinary backgrounds who have inherited, married into or made a great deal of money have begun to rub shoulders with those who had cultural capital growing up, the upper middle classes if you like. Those who know about art, ballet, opera etc. Those who are not necessarily intellectual giants but who are intellectually curious. I'd want to nurture that seed in my children and imagine all you could do, and some indeed do, when you have their sort of resources. Possibly Geri Halliwell has headed in that direction with her own children (?)

I think the issue with Victoria and David is one you see a lot with extremely driven, self made, successful people - they have no idea how to instil a similar sort of drive in their own children.

They ushered in a new era of celebrity in developing a ‘family brand’ though and perhaps believed that they could secure their children’s adult happiness and success based on it. They have certainly tried!

I imagine, as others have said, that living through the media furore following David’s alleged affairs would have been deeply traumatic for Brooklyn. Romeo would have been too young to remember, the other two weren’t even born. They have had quite different formative years, irrespective of having the same parents.

Brooklyn is undoubtedly a spoilt, privileged individual in the normal sense of the word, anybody brought up with that kind of wealth would be. I do think he is quite genuinely troubled young man because of his upbringing. There are plenty of parallels to be drawn between him and Prince Harry.

after what came out last night you have to wonder if his parents were worried about how useless he was and they were trying to protect him? I mean the kid has nothing going for him so maybe they thought he needed brand beckham?

Let’s face it, without brand beckham he’d be a nobody. He’s not done a thing for himself since he became an adult.

How unkind. He clearly has not been given the space in his life to become an adult who can make mature decisions. People aren't poodles, neither are your children. You cannot make them what you think they should be even if your motivation is 'in their best interests'. It's all very sad. I'd be devastated if either of my children felt like this about me.

TakeMeToTheMoon2026 · 20/01/2026 08:42

I bet the Beckhams are furious. Again, we dont know if what BB has claimed is true, but nonetheless, this is very damaging to the beckhams. Be interesting to see how they respond.

Im quite surprised, they seemed like a close knit family

I think he’s had success with his sauce using his father’s football number in honour of him etc.

As I reflect is this a case of Disney Dad? Is Goldenballs on a pedestal? Why can’t David help with endangered dogs or Nelson Peltz.

This is very much how I feel. Echoing the excellent post above by @Odonje, the future for kids made famous from an early age by merely 'being famous' or social media feels very precarious and empty. Second generation fame still needs some talent and hard work. Our kids are all now supposedly taught about growth mindset (if you fail, keep going) but at the same time are growing up in a world of instant gratification and, in Brooklyn's case, enough money to access most opportunities he wants without working to get them.

It takes a very strong person to push back against a lot of this and I really don't think the Beckham parents see it as a problem. They've already registered Harper as a brand in various places.

Even before now, we've seen what happens to people who can't sustain fame or talent and have nothing to fall back on. Footballers on retirement for example often famously struggle to find a niche if they don't go into coaching or management. Alcoholism and depression is rife.

Doing something 'normal' when you're using to constant exposure must feel very unappealing if you've been brought up with it but I can't help thinking being run of the mill with a vast amount of money to live off sounds far more appealing than constantly chasing fame through (let's face it) ridicule at this point. It's quite right that millions of people are laughing at Brooklyn struggling to find a niche but it's also not helpful that he leans so quickly into the idea that he's got to the top in whatever he's trying out.

I agree with this! Compare Brooklyn Beckham to Rocco Ritchie .... poles apart. Rocco is a talented artist who exhibited under an assumed name till he got some independent success.... no doubt aided by his parents' connections and money, but he nonetheless did it leveraging the great advantages he had. Unfortunately Madonnas other children dont seem to have done this - Lourdes seems to be famous for nothing more than wearing as few clothes as possible, so maybe this was Guy Ritchie's influence.

Thomasina79 · 20/01/2026 08:07

I guess his parents did their best

He never actually HAD to work or find something he excelled at.

I saw 15 mins or so of Princess Andre's programme the other day. I feel very sorry for her. This is what her parents have given her 'you are a commondity, monetise every area of your life'. That is not enough for anyone. Poor girl. She doesnt seem happy. It's very depressing. I feel sorry for Brooklyn too.

They can't just accept their kids are just ordinary they have to make out they are talented in some way
It's like they might express in an interest in something and the next thing you know it's reported thst they are next big thing in Photography, cooking etc
Rather thsn just allowing them to develop any talents they might have

Perhaps it's because that's how their later success came about. They believe their own hype. Since becoming brand Beckham they've been successful in all their endeavours just because of who they are and their fame. Perhaps they thought the same thing would happen to their children if they made them famous by putting their lives in the spotlight.

There was a bit of this with that clip of Cruz singing. It was very sweet of course, in the way that young children singing usually is, and it wasn't that he COULDN'T sing at all, but in terms of rare ability, the expression "dime a dozen" also springs to mind.

Like with Brooklyns short Photography career instead of letting him quietly get on with it he had an exhibition and released a book of his " photographs "
Maybe he would never have made it anyway but it just made a laughing stock of him.

When I see BB doing whatever with food, he cropped up on tv recently, I wonder what Ramsay thinks. He's always bawling out cooks who can't cook. It cannot have gone unnoticed and surely, if cooking had been on BB's career agenda, a word of advice would have been offered? Puzzling.

Calliopespa · 28/08/2025 22:08

Odonje · 28/08/2025 19:24

My issue with BB is his attitude.

“I’m a professional photographer now, here’s my book”

“I’m a professional chef now - here’s my recipe”

He decides he is X, Y and Z with absolutely no effort or work to back it up, it’s like me going on Facebook and saying “Right, I’m a professional chef now, look at my recipe for a cheese toastie”. Id be laughed at and rightly so. If he actually went to culinary school and put the work in he wouldn’t get all the shit that he gets. It’s the fact that he’s so self entitled he thinks he can just decide to be whatever he wants to be.

Ill never forget the time he was stopped in that sports car and asked what he does for a living to afford such a car - he said “I’m a professional chef” 🤦‍♀️ no Brooklyn, you re really not. You’re the offspring of rich parents, that’s it. At least own it.

Although I think there have been some really unkind and unnecessary comments on this thread, and overall I feel a bit sorry for him, this post isn't entirely unfair.

Goes to show how calmy making a point without name-calling can be more convincing than all the abuse ...

Odonje · 28/08/2025 21:41

Ok I’ve just seen his pasta sauce “recipe” on Instagram. I’m now convinced he’s on the wind up. I know he’s a bit dim but surely to god he can’t be that daft?!

Chattanoogachoo · 28/08/2025 21:38

There's similarities to the Royal family in that it's very difficult when one of your inmates escape.
The Beckham family seemed like a very claustrophobic little unit and he's scented freedom

Serpentstooth · 28/08/2025 21:32

That kind of fawning denial made Donald Trump, someone tell him the truth. It'snot great BB, shape up or shut up.

People give him air time though which doesn't help I watched something on you tube he was some American breakfast show making something like an bacon and egg sandwich and they were fawning all over him like he had created some culinary master piece that won't help his ego.
