Not a celebrity, but dd's middle name is the same as the title of my favourite book.

Youngest DC (43) has his 2nd name after the founder of the Socialist Labour Party.
Well, that's come home to bite me on the arse.
Guess who Smile

Keir Hardie, I was so so close to using this name a few decades ago.

Anais. It’s a popular French name, but I only heard of it due to Noel Gallaghers daughter.

Have you not heard of the perfume Anais Anais?

spookysoul · 23/08/2025 13:31

Not real people, but both of my kids first & middle names are taken from horror films.
Not having another girl, gutted I couldn’t get Reagan in there somewhere

Even if I’d wanted to, I would have been afraid to do it in case something unsavory about the celebrity later emerged.

I used to think that too.

If I were to have a DD, I have a middle name already picked out (the first name of my favourite actress). This actress has been deceased for 35 years. No scandal has emerged yet!

My friend’s brother was named Kian after Kian Francis from Westlife. I forgot to mention this in my OP!

@Seasonofthesticks Ha I know the place isn't great 😂 but as a name I like it!

DeirdreChambersWhatACoincidence · 23/08/2025 13:22

Very nearly called my daughter Ripley after watching the Alien films back to back at 38ish weeks. Thankfully I came to my senses and didn't.

VaseofViolets · 23/08/2025 13:22

James David - for David Niven 🥰

yuiopas · 23/08/2025 13:20

I have a Keanu. No explanation needed From watching Point Break on repeat as a teen. I know it’s a bit downmarket but I love it.

AnythingLemon · 23/08/2025 13:20

My dog is named after Freddie Flintoff.

Seasonofthesticks · 23/08/2025 13:19

I wouldn’t say named after but definitely gave me the inspiration for my daughters name, Dame Maggie Smith!

Not really famous but I got inspiration from celebrity big brother for my eldest DS! It was when Preston from the ordinary boys was on it, I just fell in love with the name! So he's not exactly named after him but I don't think I'd have come up with that name on my own!

Have you been to Preston? 😆

Not really but watching Alexander the great a few months before my oldest son was born inspired us...
A friends daughter us named Kayleigh after Marillions,Kayleigh .

I know someone who chose the name Kayleigh for that reason too.

Fairislesweater · 23/08/2025 13:12

Not named after but DS inspired by a film character and DD inspired by a character from classic literature. I would name them after a real person

DemonsandMosquitoes · 23/08/2025 13:12

My eldest is Adam after Adam Ant!

Silverbirchleaf · 23/08/2025 13:11

i know someone who babes her daughter after Hayley Mills, because they said she (the mother, that is) looked like her.

On EastEnders, Heather named her baby after George Michael.
