To think she owes him a public apology?

Has anyone else been following this story?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-15024445/Conor-Maynard-paternity-test-results-revealed-Charlotte-Chilton-demanded-second-test-ongoing-row-daughter-Penelope.html

Brief summary: Charlotte, from S2 of The Traitors UK, claimed she had a ONS with Conor Maynard, resulting in the birth of her daughter. She was quick to drag his name through the mud as being a deadbeat dad for not providing her with support, but two paternity tests later, it has been conclusively revealed that he isn't the father.

What an embarrassing situation for her. Surely as a woman if you're shagging multiple men at a similar time, it's basic sense to at least be sure of who the father is before publicly naming them and making accusations!

Perhaps she hoped it was Conor because he was single at the time, and the other potential father/s weren't?!

That poor girl. She's going to see all this online when she grows up. And all because of her mother's stupidity.

Surely Charlotte owes Conor a grovelling public apology at the very least?

Charlotte Chilton breaks her silence over second paternity test result

Charlotte, 32, announced in June last year that Conor, also 32, was the father of her unborn 'miracle' baby.

Someone from a quiz show and someone who had a couple of unmemorable hits back in 2019.

We've really scraped the barrel with what we class as celebrity these days.

He's done 2 DNA test, in front of her solicitor, she either accepts this or she carries on with her beliefs and looks like some deranged stalker groupie. Her 5 minutes was up long ago. So was his to be fair.

tilypu · 23/08/2025 06:42

Hmmm... I don't know who they are (and I'm not bothered about finding out, I'm guessing from love island or towie or similar - no shade, I just don't watch them), but this smacks of attention seeker seeks attention and gets bucket loads of it.

roshi42 · 23/08/2025 06:35

I have no idea who these people are but I have obviously immediately gone down a rabbit hole reading about them. What a bizarre situation all round! The infertility and then sudden miracle baby, the fact that she was married to a woman at the time, whose baby is it then? And Conor looks about 10 years old! All so weird.

Also, not to derail, but I can’t get over the stairs in this OK baby photo shoot!! What is going on there? Is it AI? They seem to go straight into a wall?? There’s multiple pictures looking the same. She’s apparently in her ‘parents spacious Warwickshire home’. (Pic attached and likely pending MN approval.)

To think she owes him a public apology?

SpinandSing · 22/08/2025 21:36

Agree with Hellohellooo...the baby is the absolute double of him so who knows what's going on here.

It means she has a 'type'. That is all.

The whole article makes it clear she is a grifter after money. Especially the last paragraph or two.

ZippyTheZebra · 23/08/2025 05:59

I’m sick of women trashing men for something they were equally, and in this case fully, responsible for. Not taking any accountability and then issuing some pathetic victim type statement as if it’s not her fault she was shsgging around. Now the actual dad know what she’s really like too.

I remember her on the show and I remember she seemed like trouble, it didn’t surprise me in the least when this story came out. I think she was trying to trap a celebrity with a bit of money.

She owes him a full and public apology for dragging his name though the mud.

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 23/08/2025 04:11

xanthic · 22/08/2025 22:17

I think for her to request the test be repeated, she must have genuinely thought - or been so desperate for it to be true that she made herself think - that he was the father.

So, I do some sympathy for her. It's possible she doesn't know who the actual father is, and as she didn't have another person to get tested, that's why she was so hellbent on proving it was this guy.

This doesn't mean I think she's in the right or that she did the right thing. I just think the whole thing is a mess, and I feel for everyone concerned, including the bloke who was labelled a deadbeat when he wasn't actually the father.

There are no winners here, least of all, the child.

Or she just really wanted it to be the rich guy’s baby… $$$

Theunamedcat · 22/08/2025 21:21

Grovelling apology? If he hadn't been there unwrapped he wouldn't have even been a contender surely?

I'm sorry is sufficient

Also STI tests for all because yuk

I haven’t read anywhere that they had unprotected sex?

Silverbirchleaf · 23/08/2025 03:48

i wonder if he can or will sue her for libel, as she’s basically shamed him in public.

I guess if they had a one night stand, technically he could have been the father, but for whatever reason, he knew the chances were very low to non-existent.

I can only remember non-Welsh Charlotte’s well.

Ans she went public because?

Yes. The slut shaming comment was especially stupid.

An it’s good to know slut shaming is alive and well in 2025.

Ans she went public because?

InterIgnis · 23/08/2025 03:28

DressOrSkirt · 23/08/2025 02:40

Then why even take any paternity tests?

Clearly there was a possibility he was the father, yet he wouldn't step up or take those tests until there was publicity around it.

Because it was the only way to dead the issue he was being publicly harangued about?

He was accused of faking the results of the first paternity test. If he’d have refused any and said ‘it’s impossible for me to be the father for medical reasons‘ there’s no way he wouldn’t have been accused of lying and dodging responsibility.

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 23/08/2025 02:55

What a mess.

The trouble these days is that any wannabe can tell the world anything on X, Insta, whatever. A lot of people get hurt along the way.

OwlBeThere · 23/08/2025 02:50

BatchCookBabe · 22/08/2025 21:51

How embarrassing. 😬 What kind of woman doesn't know who the father of her baby is?!

I don't think the baby looks like him at all. (And why would she? He isn't the baby's father!) I do agree that this woman (Charlotte Chilton) has made a massive fool of herself, and should say sorry to him publicly. That statement from 'thinkinghatmedia' is utterly pathetic.

An it’s good to know slut shaming is alive and well in 2025.

spoonbillstretford · 23/08/2025 02:47

I vaguely remember her being quite annoying in S2 now I've googled. Such a non-entity though really. Journalists are scraping the barrel writing about such nonsense.

MrsClatterbuck · 23/08/2025 02:44

XelaM · 23/08/2025 01:23

It doesn't - it looks like an ordinary baby with no particular notable features. The only baby I have ever seen where paternity could not be in dispute was Boris Becker's baby Anna 😂 That really was like Boris in a pram.

Ditto Rowan Atkinson

DressOrSkirt · 23/08/2025 02:40

UserOfDifferentNames · 23/08/2025 01:00

He may have a medical condition which he doesn’t want to make public (why should he?) or he knew he was wearing a condom (which again he may not have wanted to talk about his sex life in public) which granted is not 100% reliable but he obviously had access to facts not shared with the public and he was right.

Then why even take any paternity tests?

Clearly there was a possibility he was the father, yet he wouldn't step up or take those tests until there was publicity around it.

NoCommentingFromNowOn · 23/08/2025 02:05

@VeryStressedMum I actually don’t know who these people are but I read about it ages ago

Same, same 😂

Actually, the less I know who they are, the more I’m interested in the nitty gritty 🤔. Weird.

Velmy · 23/08/2025 01:37

I wouldn't expect any of these fame hungry, empty-headed reality show types to have the shame to apologize to be honest.

DBD1975 · 23/08/2025 01:34

These people are fame hungry wannabes.
Any publicity feeds the beast within them and they thrive on the drama.
Good luck to them!

XelaM · 23/08/2025 01:23

hellohellooo · 22/08/2025 21:27

Ok I agree

And yes it is madness

Have you seen how much the baby looks like him

It doesn't - it looks like an ordinary baby with no particular notable features. The only baby I have ever seen where paternity could not be in dispute was Boris Becker's baby Anna 😂 That really was like Boris in a pram.

I don't think she owes him any apology at all.

Why? She basically defamed him. She's quite lucky he's not taking her to court.

Have a look back at the Loose Women interview she did, where she's asked about being in contact with the father, and she goes on about the effect he's had on her mental health...

And it's amazing that LW took what she said as gospel on this too. Surely there's a lesson to the media as well to do better due diligence on this sort of story, particularly when it turns out to be untrue?

Surely if a woman is having sex with more than one man she’d be a little more cautious about declaring the father without a test first.
Has she said he must be the father because I did not have sex with any other man at that time?
I actually don’t know who these people are but I read about it ages ago

UserOfDifferentNames · 23/08/2025 01:00

Christmasbear1 · 23/08/2025 00:42

He also was adamant he couldn't be the father which I don't understand. How did he even know throughout the whole pregnancy that it wasn't his before they even did a paternity test? They slept together so there's always a chance.

He may have a medical condition which he doesn’t want to make public (why should he?) or he knew he was wearing a condom (which again he may not have wanted to talk about his sex life in public) which granted is not 100% reliable but he obviously had access to facts not shared with the public and he was right.

UserOfDifferentNames · 23/08/2025 00:53

Christmasbear1 · 23/08/2025 00:39

The baby looks so like Conor I almost don't believe the results. Apparently for the first test he changed the test centres last minute...

Looks like she tried to accuse him of trying to fake the test as she didn’t get the result she wanted.

The 2nd test was apparently done with legal reps for both of them in the room though.

It is a rather shocking story, especially as this woman has publicly outed herself as not knowing who the father of her baby is.

Why run to the press when there was a chance he wasn’t the father, which she must have known as she was obviously having sex with more than one man?

Poor child, reading about that when she grows up,

It’s telling that there has been no public apology with that statement. She’s dragged him through the mud and tried to make him look like a deadbeat which must have been extremely stressful.

Nasty.
