Why being children into the world if you plan on abandoning them?

You should have thought about your preferring a single life with no accountability or responsibilities before having children.

Cat3059 · 21/08/2025 17:27

Oh god I went clubbing when I was 30 - I felt old enough to be everyone's flipping mother. It was grim. I bet at least one of those single friends would give her right arm for what you've got.

Another bored, boring, attention seeking poster🙄

Is the poster about 12 maybe?

It's not long til the end of the school hols.

Badgerandfox227 · 21/08/2025 17:22

No one wants to leave their husband and kids so they can go clubbing, this has to be a wind up.

TigerMum8 · 21/08/2025 17:21

Surely this is just to wind people up? If not, are you that impressionable as to think that your friends are having that much of an ‘amazing time?’ I assume you can still go out clubbing from time to time, but, being married, perhaps you can’t partake in all of the delights on offer when you go out? Is that really more important than your family?

Allswellthatendswelll · 21/08/2025 17:20

This is obviously a wind up. Why can't you go clubbing with a 6 year old? It's hardly a small breastfed baby.

Netcurtainnelly · 21/08/2025 17:20

Go on then who cares, your lookout.
Nothing to do with us.

MatildaTheCat · 21/08/2025 17:16

Remember this:

The grass is greenest where you water it.

Then decide where your priorities lie. Also have a Quick Look at what you could afford to live in and do some sums.

User37482 · 21/08/2025 17:16

You can go clubbing now, you don’t need to be single or childfree to do it. Now if you are stuck in a rut and want the excitement of pulling thats different isn’t it. I’m sure most of us hit a bleugh patch but it’s part of getting older.

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 21/08/2025 17:15

Off you pop then dear

have a good time clubbing, while your husband picks up the pieces.
I assume you are leaving the children with him so you will get considerably less in the divorce, but that doesn't matter...

and I hope you don't find in 5 10 20 years time that the grass wasn't greener...

Anonomoso · 21/08/2025 17:11

Off you go then.

Goody2ShoesAndTheFilthyBeast · 21/08/2025 17:09

So go out with them.
Why do you need to walk away from your children to do that?

FTM09q24 · 21/08/2025 17:08

Think all parents find life a bit boring. Adult life is just a bit boring. But we find ways to enjoy it while not abandoning and traumatising the children we chose to make.

Another bored, boring, attention seeking poster🙄

MyIvyGrows · 21/08/2025 17:04

Taking this at face value: I go clubbing. I’m 41 and have two children, younger than yours. It’s fine.

UsernameMcUsername · 21/08/2025 17:02

So you want to put your children through the trauma of a divorce so you can party more? Is this even real?

If it is, then there are factors to consider. Firstly most of life for most people could be described as 'boring'. This won't change for you. You'll be working full time to support yourself, you'll presumably have your children at least half the time (on a timetable you'll need to negotiate with your ex, who might not feel like being reasonable), so you'll need to provide a family sized home and pay at least half the children's expenses on a single income. In other words there probably won't be much that time or money left over for excitement. Your single friends are presumably also childless? So that isn't the life you'll have.

Secondly I'm not clear what's stopping you finding more interest in your life as it is? Why can't you socialise more, take up new interests, look for work that excites you? Also at 6 and 9 your children are moving into a really fun phase IME (mine are 10 and 13 now). They'll be increasing good company in an 'adult' sense, easy to travel with, up for more adventurous experiences you can all share as a family.

SylvanianFamiliesBalcony · 21/08/2025 16:57

Only boring people are bored OP

Slowdownyouredoingfine · 21/08/2025 16:53

Well your friends are single, and presumably without children.

ErlingHaalandsManBun · 21/08/2025 16:52

Nah, this is a joke, surely??

Sarah2891 · 21/08/2025 16:50

I don't believe this is a genuine post

TwoTuesday · 21/08/2025 16:49

Really?
How would you pay for the clubbing if you left your well off husband and your kids? You'd be paying him child support and your own rent etc as well. Can you afford that?

Comedycook · 21/08/2025 16:48

Don't be daft op....nice husband? Mortgage free big house? Kids at school? All sounds good to me.

Surely you can have the odd night out though without throwing your whole life away?

CanIgetARosePinkFrappucino · 21/08/2025 16:48

Today is today of the trash threads ....Lord have mercy
