WIBU to order Krispy Kreme for my birthday?

It’s my birthday next week. Recently, me, DH and DD have gotten really into the Harry Potter films. KK have a HP ‘range’ and have the house donuts available for delivery. DD would love them, DH wouldn’t eat one and I’m on a weight loss journey but will indulge in my birthday. DS will like them although he’s not hugely into HP, they are donuts after all Grin but I’d need to get them delivered. So it’s £25 for some themed donuts (they won’t deliver the smaller box). We’re usually careful with money so it feels hugely indulgent. Plus we’ve had some big expenses recently and plan to start saving harder in September. Obviously we can afford it but it still seems extravagant, we’re not having anyone round. If it was DD’s birthday I’d definitely do it but it’s not until next spring and they’re not here for a long time. Is it too indulgent for some donuts??

It's your birthday. Surely you can have whatever you want ! I was behind some girls in the rather nice bakers .They had a shipping order of nearly £50 ! Maybe for work I dont know .Everyone should have a treat on their BD. Mine is next month ,and I fully intend to have the Balloon iced sponge BC for me( and my family also)6 of us .from M and S .

@dottiedodah the balloon iced birthday cake is the best 😂 It’s what I always tell DH I want!

HP isn't my thing, so it would be a waste of money for me, but if you enjoy it and you have the money, then of course YANBU. If you think you'll struggle to eat them all at home then take a couple to family/friends/work, so none are wasted.

There is a krispy kreme shop near my office. I'm just going back there with my sorting hat doughnut purely because of this thread.

Probably more excited than I should be to discover which house i'm in.

Well they are the best doughnuts...

And you can freeze the extra ones. Just wrap them individually in cling film. They still taste just as good!

I didn’t know these existed and may well have to go and buy 2 of my HP fanatic children some tomorrow as a Friday treat so in addition to wishing you a happy birthday in an advance I’d also like to thank you for drawing my attention to their existence!

@doigetthedonut Well now you’ll have to get them! It’s pretty poor form if @TheChosenTwo just casually decides on a whim to get them and you whos been agonising over it for ages as a birthday treat doesn’t! 😅

If you have a KK membership (free to join), you can pick up a free doughnut on your birthday (only at the KK store, I believe.)

I’ve had one on my birthday for the past two years (I always get the Biscoff one) 😊

You know you can buy them in Tesco. I saw them tonight in the Krispy Kreme stand, have to say they are nothing special just doughnuts with Harry Potter icing.
