My sister has been with her partner for 13 years although they’ve never lived together. He’s originally from Pakistan. A year ago he wen back to Pakistan just for a visit, so he told my sister. It came out 6 months ago that he had an arranged marriage and has been living with his wife who now lives here without my sister knowing. Since my sister found out she is still begging to stay with him and get rid of the new wife. I’ve lost all respect for my sister. I’ve endlessly tried to get her to see sense and get away from him but she won’t. Then she decided on my twins bday party 3 weeks ago she wasn’t going to turn up without even letting me know. I found out she spent the day with him instead. I’ve blocked her on everything and told her I don’t want a relationship moving forward.
That felt good to get off my chest! I don’t really talk to people about it!

One of my clients told me she suspected her husband was having an affair. She didn’t want to upset the family home etc so she’s kept quiet but has recently started seeing someone at work herself behind DH back. He best friend is also my client. She told me it is HER who is having an affair with first clients husband but she doesn’t have a clue. She also doesn’t know about friends secret fella at work. So I have to sit and listen to the stories and try not mix them up just incase I let anything slip. Client one will be like I think he was with her last Thursday afternoon, if I find out who she is. I feel like saying I KNOW he was with her Thursday afternoon noon she told me yesterday! Bloody scumbags.

He cock blocked me from a wonderful man that someone else is married to now @PulchritudinousLycanthrope

I know it must feel like this but he wasn't a wonderful man if he couldn't see past your 'past'. Even if it had of been true a good man wouldn't be upset with who you had been with before you met.

It depends what other lies the ex boss told him.

I kept some of my Dad's ashes back as I knew 'the scattering of the ashes' would turn into an absolute circus with my family and various hangers on.

I want to put them on the exact spot where we used to sit and watch the trains, having a picnic and him telling me stories of when he was a kid.

I have never met a man as good as my Dad and I know I never will.

This has brought tears to my eyes.

Ooo 👀

Were you tempted? Was he hot?

I'll share this secret - if I recieved such a proposal as a single woman now, I'd go for it 🙈🤭

Same!

This has also just happened to me too. The horrendous thing is though, that my grandfather was in his 40's and the girl who he got pregnant was a 15 year old, who very likely had a learning disability (the child that was born also had a severe learning disability) I actually felt sick finding that out, and stepped back from the family tree investigations afterwards before I could uncover any other disgusting things about my relatives.

My grandfather was born in the 1890s and died in the 1970s just after I was born, but it's still too close for comfort to think about who / what he really was.

Same - all while married and having kids with my granny

Twice at work I have weaponised gossip. The first time, it prevented someone who was a shoo-in from getting promoted. The second time, it resulted in someone who had shat on me getting sacked (NOT for what they did to me, but for something else they did).

Never told ANYONE either of those things IRL.

"Weaponised gossip", what a fancy way to say youre a two faced backstabber :)

Lucyweeks · 16/08/2025 19:08

My BFF met her partner on Adult Fun. She told her daughters Plenty of Fish. I'm not sure there's much in it.

Woman who lives opposite me - as soon as her boyfriend isn't there, a different guy comes around, she stands at the doorway watching him leave after a couple of hours all misty eyed

Another neighbour has cheated on his wife with a woman the next street over, she found out and they're still playing not so happy families.

starsinthedarksky · 16/08/2025 18:56

Keeping it semi vague for obvious reasons.

I was just the final witness in a disciplinary hearing at work. My coworker has been making fatal mistakes since they started working with us at the beginning of the year, along with just being generally unkind to most people. After already having multiple warnings, they’re going to be fired next week. I would say they should know this but they’re so oblivious to their behaviour and never own their mistakes so I am sure this will come as a complete shock for them!

👀👀 did the fall out happen? Was it spectacular?!

No because he never returned to the UK in the child’s lifetime (they sadly died as a young adult), so nothing could ever be proven.

Well there's a certain cosmetic company owner who is vile to other women particularly if they're curvy.
She was rude to me, then was very insulting to a friend who she interviewed for a job. Sadly for her she approached a colleague of mine for an investment. I vetoed that. He can afford to be picky.

What's the problem here?

If a customer thinks that the product is defective / not up to standard, why can't they request a refund? I doubt see why pants are any different to other products.

The fact they were ‘used’ and a year old. Any form of underwear is not going to be pristine after a year’s worth of use unless they are gold lamme from Harrods. Nor did they have the receipt to prove purchase.

usedtobeaylis · 16/08/2025 18:33

I've never told anyone this as we don't talk about it much but my cousin has a 'secret' child - very few people know he's the father. I don't know what the child has been told - they must be in their teens by now. He's got another young child now also who he is raising but he's never acknowledged the first child. The only reason I know this is because my sister became friends with the mother years after the kid was born and she drunkenly told her one night who the dad was, not knowing they were related, and my sister didn't tell her.

Interestingly there's always been a family rumour that this cousin's dad, my uncle, also has a 'secret' child, someone I vaguely know from the area I grew up in. Also unacknowledged.

After wearing them for a year!?

In John Lewis this morning. I could hear raised voices at the menswear till. I skulked around as you do to listen in. A couple were trying to argue that it was acceptable to bring back men’s briefs that had been worn FOR A YEAR as they had a hole. They just kept on and on and on. I did a whole circuit of the men’s floor and came back and still they were there trying to argue the point. They eventually went over to examine the packs of briefs. Last I saw they were taking ones out and stretching them.

What's the problem here?
