To wonder why there’s no media reportings that describe Dwight Yorke as the scumbag that he is?

He has had no presence in Harvey’s life. Why isn’t this repeatedly in the media as to how atrocious this is? Misogyny at its finest or something else?

I don’t have sons so can’t relate, but I’m wondering if you’d be equally disappointed if your daughter decided to abort an accidental pregnancy?

No I wouldn't. Which means I am more "women's right to choose" than men's rights on this topic.
If my son impregnated a girl, who wanted to abort when he didn't, then he'd have my sympathy and empathy but nothing more. He knows I am pro-choice though and what pregnancy and childbirth do to a woman, so I'd hope he was supportive in whatever the outcome was. That might make me a hypocrite but so be it...
She wants to have it. Support her
She wants an abortion. Support her and you dodged a bullet

She wasn't keen, he was. One did not take, one surrogate miscarried, two embryos frozen he wanted to use, she said no (they had already split and had a contract both needed agreement to use).

I wouldve told him to get to fuck tbh, glad he didnt win

There are plenty of egg donors and surrogates around (despite my personal objections) and he wanted this kid because they wouldve been hers.

I'm not who you are asking but that wouldn't be leaving a child to grow up rejected and unsupported by one of their parents would it? I'd be very disappointed if my daughter had a baby then abandoned it and just paid maintenance.

Soontobe60 · 10/08/2025 17:05

Y1000 · 10/08/2025 15:57

@youreactinglikeafunmum no idea if he has ever paid.

How can it be fine though to not want to be a dad? He IS a dad. A thoroughly awful one.

There are many men who do not want to be fathers. Just like there are many women who do not want to be mothers. Those women have the benefit of being able to have an abortion in that case - men don’t.

Azdcgbjml · 10/08/2025 17:00

I'm astonished at the amount of people who think it's fine for a Dad to opt out of parenting. Would they be equally cool if the Mum opted out and just threw money at it? What happens if both parents opt out like that?

The moment of choice for becoming a parent is when the baby gets made. If a man does not want to be a parent then they need to make sure they don't make a baby. Once that baby is made you don't get to just opt out, or demand someone else has an abortion, not morally anyway.

I agree. However, when my son is old enough to have sex then he's old enough to reap the consequences.
I'd be quite ashamed if he just said "not my circus, not my monkeys, here's some maintenance money."
Whatever the situation with conception, ONS or FWB, or non-relationship, or for the cynical/misogynists out there a find me a baby daddy/money grab...it takes two to trouser tango and you should step up to the plate.

Nick Loeb argues that his desire to take on all parental responsibilities is cause to allow his and Vergara’s embryos be brought to term despite actor’s objections

I dunno. I believe in a man’s right to choose as well as a woman’s.
if a blanket ‘nope, absolutely not - do not wish to be a parent’ response has been given at the point of finding out about the pregnancy I cannot find it in me to be outraged.
it’s very different to walking out once the child is here, and a relationship may have been started.
an absent parent is better than a disappointing parent.

DiscoBob · 10/08/2025 16:46

Loads of men have no contact with their kids.

Dwight York is not remotely newsworthy as he's a washed up ex footballer who hasn't got a media career. KP sells stories constantly about his lack of involvement, she makes documentaries about it.

How much more coverage do you need?

youreactinglikeafunmum · 10/08/2025 16:45

StrictlySequinsandStiIettos · 10/08/2025 16:42

Hardly a hijack - there's many out there. It's the age old debate of what do we owe each other when the only foolproof contraception is vasectomy, even then... and the rights of a parent not to be a parent.
The only other way round scenario I saw was when Sofia Vegara's ex tried to get their frozen embryos to implant in a surrogate against her wishes. Court sided with her

Wow 😳😳 - for someone who loves the goss, I miss so much

I love Sofia vergara - I think she had one child young and decided she was done - completely understand and am one and done myself

Didn't her marriage end because he wanted kids, as well?

zerofeeling · 10/08/2025 16:44

KP is a horrible messed up person who uses her son to get attention and sympathy when it suits her. That's worse than an absentee parent imo.

@FenderStrat why and how is Dwight’s relationship with his son in any way Katie’s responsibility?

Ok fair enough i'm wrong.
People have no responsibility whatsoever for the outcome of unprotected sex.

What makes a man 'like' dwight yorke, at first sight on a night out?

Above all, Katie is vulnerable. That much is clear from the reportings of her mental health

So yeah, some vulnerable women are dealt shit men. These shit men love to take advantage and act nice at first and then claim the awful woman is to blame for their actions

I'm not saying she is innocent, far from it. But yes, along with the shitty choices she has made, she has been dealt some shitty men.

I mean an ugly, Premiership footballer known for dating a string of page 3 girls and treating them like shit.

The men she’s been dealt? Dealt?? Men aren’t cards in a pack you just have to accept in a hand of poker. You are allowed to reject them.

I’ve told truck loads of men like Dwight Yorke to fuck off when they’ve approached me in clubs. I’ve been on dates that have led to nowhere because I chose not to continue. I’ve dumped men after six months because they weren’t the one.

No woman has to be dealt a man. Because I’ve got a brain and two eyes and have a modicum of intelligence I can choose which men remain in my life.

Katie has been a millionaire since her early twenties, she could have more independence than most women. But her self esteem has always been so low she accepts shitty behaviour from loser men. It’s like any bloke is better than no bloke.

I was so disappointed when he won Celebrity Big Brother back in April. Clearly most people don’t know what he’s really like.

He's just like his his character in Coronation Street - a jumped up little sh!t. A lot of people think he is funny and a great character.

SemperIdem · 10/08/2025 16:27

This has been well covered over the years. He pays for Harvey. He didn’t want a relationship with him, this was the case before his disability was diagnosed. Before Harvey was even born. Katie Price was sleeping with Gareth Gates whilst pregnant so she and Dwight were very much not in a relationship.

Men cannot force women to terminate babies just because they don’t want them. However men also cannot be forced to parent the children they didn’t want, cases such as Dwight Yorke, Jack P Shepherd, Liam Gallagher, Owen Wilson, Jude Law demonstrate this well but it is also pretty commonplace amongst non celebrities too.

Y1000 · 10/08/2025 16:27

FenderStrat · 10/08/2025 16:22

I stand by what I said.
For the record, he's a terrible father, and I think an awful person.

She must take some responsibility for who she has sex with, for her own contraception and the outcome.

Nowhere did I say it's her fault that he abandoned his son. But she must take some responsibility for getting pregnant by a man she barely knew.

Did dwight at least pay for Harvey? I cant remember

I suppose if you dont wanna be a dad, fine. But it seems to me it was about his disability, which makes me sad 🥺

Apparently Harvey’s grandmother Amy was paid by Dwight to help. I can’t imagine Katie Price is an easy person to deal with, it was common knowledge that she wouldn’t let Peter Andre have any contact with Harvey when they split. I do hope Dwight tried everything he could to be in his son’s life. Although we’ll never know.

What?? Omg

I KNEW I was right to throughly dislike him on CBB!

"Actor Jack has apparently never met his son, the star does pay maintenance after he learned that he was Greyson's dad following a DNA test.
Ever since the birth – after which Greyson battled for his life in intensive care in Rotherham General Hospital, South Yorks – Sammy has been a single mum. The former model now leads a quiet life with her son as its focus.
Jack has apparently never met his son, the star does pay maintenance after he learned that he was Greyson's dad following a DNA test.
David Platt actor Jack is already the father to two children, Nyla and Reuben, with his fiancée Lauren.
Back in 2014, Sammy opened up about her disappointment over Jack's alleged refusal to meet his son
She told The Mirror: "His father has not been in his life. I don’t know why because we don’t speak but I imagine it’s that he’s not wanted to.
“I would like my son to have a father in his life but how can you feel sad for something he’s never had? I guess it’s sad in itself to say that.”

And after all this he dumped his fiancee and married someone else.

You can add Owen Wilson to the list.
Pays for but will not see his daughter.

I assume these "fathers" asked the mums to get an abortion. When they did not comply, the response was fiscal only and you're on your own.

Had no idea

I did know about Chris Pratt and his 'healthy child' comment

Not sure if he plays any role in his disabled sons life, who's mother is the stunning anna faris
