Embarrassing Bathroom Disaster

This is embarrassing. I have a husband who spends 30 minutes + in the morning having a poo with a cup of tea and his phone.
I have chronic digestive issues including IBS.
I have sudden bad attacks which always seem to coincide with his bathroom interlude. I have had some very embarrassing incidents. Sudden and no warning. He’s not a nice man anyway and his advice is keep a bucket by the bed, not I’ll spend less time in the loo.
AIBU about this?

He takes a cup of tea into the toilet? That's gross.

Taking your phone into the loo is such a horrible habit

Especially with a cup of tea 🤢

okydokethen · 09/08/2025 13:28

Ridingthegravytrain · 09/08/2025 13:09

More like a “shituation”

BallerinaRadio · 09/08/2025 13:03

You cannot believe you are being unreasonable in this 'situation'

nutbrownhare15 · 09/08/2025 13:01

Can you consider leaving this man who has such contempt for you?

grizzlyoldbear · 09/08/2025 13:01

Your issue isn’t ibs related, it’s husband related. Get rid.

PInkyStarfish · 09/08/2025 11:33

When he’s out get a lock fitted on the bathroom door that only you have a key for and give him this -

Alternatively, raise your bar and your self esteem by leaving this repulsive excuse for a man.

Seconded, why are you married to this prick. In my last house I built a shed on the side of my house and had a toilet plumbed in. It's always a good idea to have an emergency toilet. You can also get camping toilets much like buckets with toilet seats you put water and a sterilising tablet in. Not ideal but better than the alternative.

RaininSummer · 09/08/2025 10:45

Odd. Maybe move to house with two loos or install one under the stairs or something. Or buy an emergency portable toilet. Or leave him.

Pippa12 · 09/08/2025 10:43

Its been incredibly strange around here lately 🤔

he is so selfish, I have IBS and DH knows to keep the bathroom as free as we can, I would be telling him straight and if he won't change, well there you have your answer as to how important you are to him.

ExtraOnions · 09/08/2025 10:42

Why are you staying married to this prick?
