Posted here massively for traffic.

I'm not a gin drinker but want to purchase a lovely bottle of gin to say thankyou to someone who has helped me a lot and is a bit of a gin connoisseur and likes the random flavours

Happy to go up to £40

Gin lovers....hit me!

Another vote for Silent Pool

TakeMeToAnIgloo · 08/08/2025 20:46

I like Adnams as well, but the First Rate gin over the Copper House. It is much harder to find, though. (And higher abv!).

Black Shuck 😋

I'm also not a gin drinker, but my husband loves this brand

This is my local gin, how lovely to see it recommended! It's very nice, OP, plus less likely that your friend already has it than some of the suggestions from major retailers.
My other suggestion is Lind and Lime. It's a beautiful bottle and a delicious citrus forward gin.

As a Suffolk lady, my go to gin is 100% Adnams copper house, adnams.co.uk/collections/gin/products/70cl-adnams-copper-house-gin-40

Suffolk Bird here too (born in Liverpool hence the Bird!) I'm not a fan of Copperhouse....but absolutely love Melford Gin by Nethergate Breweries nethergate.co.uk/shop/melfords-gin/

NannyOf8Girls · 08/08/2025 20:31

Tarquins blue
Courun
Boodles
Tobermory

All favourites here.

BlueMum16 · 08/08/2025 20:28

My bestie is a gin lover.

She always suggests a quality gin (Hendricks) and flavoured mixers. If you get flavoures gin and it's crap it's an expensive mistake.

AragornsManlyStubble · 08/08/2025 20:25

How has no one recommended the Mermaid gin?!

It is divine. The zest one in particular, Grapefruit and rosemary. And the bottle is lovely to keep.

notatinydancer · 08/08/2025 20:24

See if you can get some Tarquins. The blue one.

thatsnothtepoint · 08/08/2025 20:05

I love Roku gin too.

Marieb19 · 08/08/2025 20:02

Personally I would avoid fruit flavours, as these can easily be added at a later stage. I find stronger gins 47 percent have a more developed flavour and are not drown by tonic. I particularly like Star of Bombay Star, Targuins Plymouth Gin and Tanqueray 10. At the risk of sounding a bit alcky, is the critical taste element is that the gin is 47% proof, not 40 or 42.

ColinOfficeTrolley · 08/08/2025 19:37

Another vote for Roku. Very botanically

WarrenTofficier · 08/08/2025 19:37

Is there a particular place that is special to them that you could choose a local gin from or one that is local to you?

BsixThirteen · 08/08/2025 19:34

As a Suffolk lady, my go to gin is 100% Adnams copper house, adnams.co.uk/collections/gin/products/70cl-adnams-copper-house-gin-40

Edinburgh Gin Orange blossom and mandarin is so nice

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 08/08/2025 19:02

I like Berkshire Botanicals small batch gin. Their dry gin is really smooth, also their Rhubard and Raspberry is really nice. You can get it on Amazon if you can't find it in the shops.
