To think that white British/ American etcmen are just as much a threat to women as migrants?

I am not excusing grooming, paedophile sex rings and unmonitored immigration at all but I hate all these protests.
I know that my white male ex teacher is a sex offender. Not to mention the Epstein scandal.
Aibu to think that ALL men are a danger to women...not just men of different ethnicities/ religions etc?

No, I'm not talking about a far fight concept. In my last post I explained it for you in a way that was really easy to understand and you've reframed it to make it easier for you to argue against. I think they call it a strawman.

Mass deportation of foreigners however you want to dress it up, is far right.

Historically, immigrants have integrated well into our society. It has sometimes taken a generation or two but, ultimately, if you went to a British school, watched British television and mixed with British people, you assimilated into our culture.

We have a number of problems with that now. Firstly, the amount coming in means that they can live in their own community, practise their own culture and speak their own language. Schooling, which is so important, in many cases adapts to their culture rather than trying to teach them ours. Finally, the internet means that they can seek entertainment and advice in their own culture and that confirms to their cultural norms.

The above isn’t that problematic if their native culture is peaceful and egalitarian. But, if it is religious and misogynistic, it can be a huge problem. And this problem is manifesting itself in the lived experiences reported by many on this thread.

Luxury belief is a really good term. I have many friends who are male, wealthy and send/sent their children to private schools in very wealthy areas of London. Their main contact with recent immigrants is either at work, where they are very well educated and cultured or who are doing domestic/building work for them, where, again, they are polite and respectful (obviously). It is incredibly easy for them to quote uncritically economic theory that says immigration is only a positive.

Oh they know that already. They see exactly how sex offending is ignored in society and the norm. And how victims are badly treated and abused meaning that they know that the victim can easily be portrayed as the perpetrator. Happens in all countries.

Which countries are we comparing?

Why would somebody who has just come from another country know that? I'd wager most people born in the UK don't even know the stats on rape prosecutions and convictions. It's not exactly common knowledge. A rapist would probably get a sense of how SA is not taken seriously after being in the UK for awhile though, so you do have a point. Once they had citizenship there would be no more fear of deportation, but when they are newly arrived I think most of them would tend to be more cautious. I don't know this for a fact, I just think it stands to reason.

Afghanistan was mentioned as compared to the UK but I'm not sure about the others. Most of the people making the claim were vague about which countries they were talking about.

You are talking about a far right concept and it means the mass deportation of non white immigrants and it includes their descendents. People in favour of remigration want an ethnostate, they want to exclude non Europeans.

The fact that you think if a bunch of far right extremists get into power, someone of mixed race will be excluded is quite sad. I'm not talking about Farage, as he's never gone that far. I believe Lowe often calls for remigration and mass deportation and is affiliated with far right groups.

I'm afraid that far right extremists would see your fig leaf of not including colour as laughable.

American men are from a different culture from British, so YADBU to mix those: and both contain a mix of different attitudes. Yanbu to point to misogyny as the issue, but YABU to not recognise the different rates and extremes existing in different cultures.

I know what it means in it's purest form with no nuance or context. And I know what it means in the the the context of the current political climate and the situation we find ourselves in right now.

You'd like it to mean "round up all non-whites" because that's easy to argue against. Change the word and use a different one of if it upsets you. Lets agree on a word that means "remove foreign nationals whose presence in our country is detrimental, regardless of skin colour".

"For example, rounding people up and deporting them because they're not white is illegal"

I didn't say we should round up people because they're not white and deport them.

"You said you're voting for whoever deals with the 'problem of immigrants'. Remigration is obviously a human rights violation and people in this country have rights."

I didn't say "the problem of immigrants". I repeatedly said that lots immigrants have integrated well and contribute a great deal to the country.

"You also seem to blame immigrants for everything wrong with this country. It hasn't occurred to you that you're wrong."

I haven't blamed immigrants for everything wrong in this country. I said that lots of immigrants have not integrated and have a profoundly negative impact on this country.

"And no, Reform aren't going to be voted in."

They probably are, let's face it. Hopefully you'll accept the democratic will of the people in good grace.

Extremists don't tend to believe in the rule of law. For example, rounding people up and deporting them because they're not white is illegal.

You said you're voting for whoever deals with the 'problem of immigrants'. Remigration is obviously a human rights violation and people in this country have rights.

You don't respect the law or human rights, in fact you don't see immigrants or people of different ethnicities as human. That's obvious from the way you talk about them.

You also seem to blame immigrants for everything wrong with this country. It hasn't occurred to you that you're wrong.

And no, Reform aren't going to be voted in.

I do believe in democracy, you don't. You believe that when the majority disagree with you, it's because they're dumb and they need to be over ridden by the authoritarian left. Democracy is happening before your eyes right now and you're going to get a Reform government. I'm ok with that and you're not, which one of us doesn't believe in democracy?

Do you honestly believe that reform will deal with white rapists and sex offenders? Do you think they care about women and girls?

Most rapes go unreported. Mind you, they are almost never prosecuted when they are reported. Be that as it may, would somebody who wants to become a citizen want to roll the dice on that? Some might and others might not. Do you suppose they are aware of the abysmal stats on convictions and reporting rates?
It's not comparable to being in a country where there is no possibility of punishment.

Rape largely goes unpunished here. Almost all rapists are still in our communities supported by those who back any rapist who pretends to be the victim when reported. There is no fear of punishment here.

I disagree . A quick google shows that the Uk has a lower rate of violence against women than the countries lots of immigrants into the uk are coming from.
chatgpt offered some percentages which are quite frightening. Women really are just second class citizens in some countries . You’re fooling yourself if you think those men change when they come to the UK.

They won't change internally, but they would become aware that they can be arrested and punished for it, possibly deported. It's reasonable to conclude that has some effect on their decision making. How much effect is the question. Do they want to rape badly enough to risk all that? Some of them probably do and others probably don't. Some rapists commit their crimes opportunistically and others have a compulsive desire to rape. All rapists are scum but they aren't all exactly alike.

Again, it isn’t my job. My job as a voter in a democracy is to vote for whoever commits to the strongest measures to deal with the problem. You don't believe the problem exists, I do. Lets vote whichever way we'd like to vote come the next election.

Wow. 51% believe this objectively truthful statement is unreasonable?
When I say that it's because I take it you mean all men are a potential threat, not an actual threat. Since there are far more white UK men (over 75% as of the 2021 census) then obviously they present the biggest threat. The math is simple.

I see a lot of people are pointing to rape stats in other countries. The part they are conveniently forgetting is that in countries where rape isn't punished, men will commit more rapes. If they move to a country where it is punished, it seems logical to conclude they will commit fewer rapes, especially if getting citizenship rides on them obeying the law. Not one person can show evidence that men from x,y or z country are more likely to commit rape when they immigrate to the UK than white, native Brits are. Now, it's possible that they are. Who knows? Maybe their desire to rape overrides their desire to become citizens and their fear of punishment for all we know. But even if that was so, they simply don't have the numbers to present a greater threat.

Rape largely goes unpunished here. Almost all rapists are still in our communities supported by those who back any rapist who pretends to be the victim when reported. There is no fear of punishment here.
