To think that white British/ American etcmen are just as much a threat to women as migrants?

malificent7 · 08/08/2025 12:47

I am not excusing grooming, paedophile sex rings and unmonitored immigration at all but I hate all these protests.
I know that my white male ex teacher is a sex offender. Not to mention the Epstein scandal.
Aibu to think that ALL men are a danger to women...not just men of different ethnicities/ religions etc?

And the far right culture is deeply misogynistic and violent - so yes blame culture and yes don’t ignore the white cultures that are bad in favor of other bad cultures

Blaming the concerns that many women have on the influence of, or an affiliation with, the far-right. It's a nonsense.

Some people live under a rock and have no idea of the influence of social media. For example, young men being radicalised by incels and influencers like Andrew Tate. There have been people murdered by incels but social media had nothing to do with that despite the extremist content they viewed.

Despite the rise of the far right in the West, far right political parties in Europe, Trump in the US and far right organisations buying land to develop all white communities in the UK, this is something I'm dreaming up.

Despite far right organisations hijacking asylum seeker protests, wearing balaclavas and trying to break into hotels. Running local Facebook pages to organise events and busing in activists, I'm making it up. It's me apparently, who doesn't have a clue.

Newbutoldfather · 08/08/2025 16:27

It’s nothing to do with colour or race (as the OP is conflating) but with culture.

If you have immigrated from a backward misogynistic culture, that doesn’t suddenly change the moment you set foot in a foreign country.

Add to that that certain waves of immigration are predominantly young single men and you do have the right conditions for some of them to be a threat to women and girls.

Assuming the immigrants assimilate, even over two generations, they cease to be a threat. But if they choose to live in ghettos and speak their own languages, the threat will persist.

People turn to the far right because they become indoctrinated. Our right wing press, in particular the Daily Mail and Telegraph, have daily stories on how dangerous foreigners are. This is emphasised online, Twitter for example, has algorithms pushing a far right agenda. The racism there is horrific. Far right organisations are running local Facebook sites, for example, Epping, and organising protests and busing in activists.

You seem to be blaming people for pointing this out, for giving counter arguments and saying that they're soley responsible for other people's thoughts and behaviour. It's bizarre.

People turn to the far right because they become indoctrinated

In the space of this exchange, you've accused me of being far right and told me I think it's protecting women, even though the very first thing I said to you was agreeing that it weaponises VAWG. Now you're accusing me of "blaming" you for mentioning right wing news outlets. I haven't done that either. I've pointed out that when you accuse people of being far right when they're not, when you lie about what they've said, when you take reasonable positions like inquiries into rape gangs or single sex spaces and equate them with fascism, racism and extremism... you're going to lose support and yes, you're going to turn them far right.

People will certainly be affected by media but they will also be affected by supposed left wingers telling them flat out lies and telling them their reasonable viewpoints mean they're far right already. The first thing I did was agree with you about VAWG and still you accused me of thinking the far right were great on it. You think that makes you look reasonable? You think that's how to win people over?

EasternStandard · 08/08/2025 16:13

TheNuthatch · 08/08/2025 16:06

It is. Same with the rape gangs.

It’s just aligned to being pro Labour, so if they switch on SS the pp will too. Anything not that is ‘far right’.

amillionandone · 08/08/2025 16:10

Much of what some call 'far right fear-mongering' is what others recognise as speaking the truth and exercising common sense. 'Far right' has become a meaningless insult, like the tiresome habit of labelling any differing opinion or set of values as 'phobic' or some type of '-ism'.

Obviously any man of any nationality or culture can pose a threat to a woman, but let's not pretend that men from certain cultures aren't overrepresented when it comes to violence against random women. That doesn't mean all men from those cultures will be violent, but it's still worth acknowledging.

TheNuthatch · 08/08/2025 16:06

EasternStandard · 08/08/2025 16:01

Up until recently the same posters were using ‘far right’ against anyone speaking up for single sex spaces. It’s more of the same.

It is you who is trying to derail* *the thread. You want this discussion to be about the far-right. It is not.

I'm going to assume by your failure to answer (twice) that you are indeed a man.
On the subject of VAWG, it is absolutely my business to know whether I am conversing with a man. Why are you advising women how to feel on this subject?

Projection at its finest, you bring up trans rights and blame Labour for the Tories failure and then tell me I'm derailing the thread. You're also trying to bully me into revealing personal information.

It's my argument that the far right are weaponising VAWAG in order to push their agenda. This thread is about race, immigration and VAWAG therefore I'm not derailing the thread, I'm discussing the thread topic. Now you're derailing by refusing to discuss the thread topic and are focusing on me. It's very tiresome.

Deflection at it's finest. As expected.

TheNuthatch · 08/08/2025 14:56

Yes of course. Labour are awesome on women's rights aren't they. <polite cough>

It is you who keeps referencing the far right as it suits your narrative. I'm not far right. I doubt many others on this thread are either. I still have concerns about men from highly misogynistic cultures.

Are you a woman? Just so we know.

What narrative?

Er, no, I'm pointing out the disingenuousness of taking positions that aren't far right anx claiming that they are. That's a very good way to make people far right: tell them they already are even when they're not.

As you're doing right now by telling me I've said that their aim is to protect women. I've said nothing of the kind, but you're now accusing me of being far right, even while you also accuse me of being disingenuous.

Do you see how this kind of dishonest, hypocritical, disingenuous and accusatory approach might turn people to the far right even if they weren't actually there before?

QuarkQuarkPoshDuck · 08/08/2025 15:51

In the UK we have equal rights for men and women as well as laws against acts of violence.

When you have people coming into a country that are oblivious to these laws then yes, its fair to say that these people would be more of a risk of carrying out sexual attacks if they come from somewhere where that is OK.

But there are also British nationals who know the laws and still choose to carry out vile acts.

47% of sexual offences in London were commited by foreign nationals last year but they only make up 25% of Londons population .

You're being disingenuous. The premise of arguments by the far right are based on having an ethnostate. They're racists, extremists and have been found to commit a lot of domestic abuse. They're certainly not feminists so why do you believe their aim is to protect women?

It's absolutely none of your business if I'm female or not. The Tories were happily allowing dangerous men into women's prisons and hospital wards and May tried to bring in self ID. The Tories let schools teach about hundreds of different gender identities yet you seem to be blaming Labour. Not only are you willfully blind to the right's record on women's rights, you're trying to derail the thread.

The far right are weaponising VAWAG, they are busing in activists, running local Facebook pages to sow division and are rampant on social media trying to push their agenda. And here you are, quite by coincidence.

@MiloMinderbinder925 - can you explain why a recent rapist’s defence (a patient attacking woman in a London hospital) was that in his culture this wasn’t unacceptable?

Why in many countries are women expected, nay, mandated , to dress modestly or to be covered completely?

“I tripped and fell” was successfully used in a rape case. Anything(that a defence lawyer might come up with) goes.Sometimes the jury/judge sees it as the bollocks it is, sometimes they don’t.

Nearly every British drug mule/dealer that is caught abroad also claims they “didn’t know/understand”.

I didn’t say that, you are putting words into peoples’ mouths.

You wouldn’t know an argument if you saw it, let alone a counter argument. Your whole standpoint is anyone who disagrees with me is a far right racist. That just won’t wash any more. I could just as well accuse of not caring how many girls are raped and killed.

I can’t be bothered with your crazed mitherings any more.

None of the views the far right hold are 'reasonable'

Of course, which is why it's such a spectacular own goal, not to mention hugely dishonest, to take views that are reasonable and accuse them of being far right. I don't want to derail, but people have been accused of being far right for wanting single sex spaces or a proper inquiry into the rape gangs scandal. When you try to shut people up by calling them far right over things like that, don't be surprised if they start wondering what's so wrong about being far right.

It's also entirely possible to be unreasonable but not far right.

You're being disingenuous. The premise of arguments by the far right are based on having an ethnostate. They're racists, extremists and have been found to commit a lot of domestic abuse. They're certainly not feminists so why do you believe their aim is to protect women?

Sure, there are plenty of evil, abusive white men. But that's not the point. The problem with immigration is:

  1. We have no idea who these boatloads of young men really are. Most either throw away their documents or have none to begin with. The left seem to think every immigrant is a poor frightened refugee "fleeing war and persecution". No doubt some are. But I suspect the majority of these young men are just rootless drifters. In fact, I suspect a few are fleeing the police rather 'war and persecution.' For all we know, some of them are wanted for rape or sexual assault in their home country and that's why they've left. There was a case recently of an illegal immigrant from the Congo called Anicet Mayala. Human rights groups fought his deportation and won. He's now in prison for raping a 15-year-old girl. I wonder if those activists feel guilty?

  2. These are mostly young men. If they were women, or older men with their wives, they'd pose less of a threat. But young men, especially when they arrive in a small town in large numbers, are going to be sexually frustrated. It's one of the big dangers in war, of course, when soldiers (all young men) are billeted in a small town. Everywhere I look in my home town I see groups of young immigrant men wandering around. My neighbour no longer goes into town because she's too scared. Watch a Youtube clip of Alex Philips describing what it's like to be a young woman in modern London – the constant harassment she experiences from men who can barely speak English, etc. She's not expressing her opinion. She's telling you a fact.

  3. Cultural differences. There are cultural differences, whether you like it or not. In some cultures, an unmarried, sexually active woman is viewed as a prostitute. Even a woman who walks down the street without a man is "asking for it." One of the things that came through strongly in the grooming scandal was the utter contempt the men felt for their victims.
