To think that white British/ American etcmen are just as much a threat to women as migrants?

malificent7 · 08/08/2025 12:47

I am not excusing grooming, paedophile sex rings and unmonitored immigration at all but I hate all these protests.
I know that my white male ex teacher is a sex offender. Not to mention the Epstein scandal.
Aibu to think that ALL men are a danger to women...not just men of different ethnicities/ religions etc?

I think the outrage at the moment in the UK is that the legal defense of some migrants that have commited sex crimes, is that "they didn't know it was not allowed here" and that "there are cultural differences that prevented the perpetrators from understanding their behaviour was unacceptable" which is absolute bollocks.

They should go to a middle eastern country and try that defence.

In liberal Britain though some judge is likely to accept it.

TheAmusedQuail · 10/08/2025 10:39

White men more so. They're just better at hiding their threat.

We've all been touched, had threats, unwanted sexual activity etc. And I bet for the vast majority of us, that's come from white men.

The man we're most in danger from is our husband (NOT that all husbands are dangerous, but statistically). And given the UK is majority white, the man we're most in threat and danger from is white.

If they can leave the woman and children behind, their situation is not dangerous enough to warrant asylum. It just isn’t. We can’t take everyone from any country where the government is anything less than completely democratic

What would you know about individual asylum claims and how much danger that person is in?

We need a better system. One that designed better for women and girls.

What kind of system would that be?

Safe and legal routes like we manage with Ukraine and Hong Kong?

In fact Trump negotiated with the Taliban before pulling the Americans out and released 5k Taliban prisoners.

You know that was Biden, right?

The Trump administration in February 2020 negotiated a withdrawal agreement with the Taliban that excluded the Afghan government, freed 5,000 imprisoned Taliban soldiers and set a date certain of May 1, 2021, for the final withdrawal.

You really need to engage your brain.

They are granted asylum so their situation was dangerous.

We are not taking everyone either.

Family reunion increases the share of female refugees in the UK

Most asylum seekers are men (76% of adult applicants from 2014 to 2024). Young male refugees who receive asylum often go on to be joined by their female partners through refugee family reunion. From 2014 to 2024, 82% of adults receiving refugee family reunion visas were women. As a result, after accounting for family reunion, the gender balance of those granted protection becomes more even over time. Taken together, women made up 35% of adults granted asylum-related status or refugee family reunion between 2014 and 2024 (Table 2), while men made up 65%. Note that these figures exclude asylum applicants who are initially refused but are successful on appeal, as the immigration statistics do not include a gender breakdown for this group.

People can see what's happening in their towns. They don't particularly want to wait for thousands of women and children to be raped in order to satisfy your insatiable desire for statistics.

Actually without going back through the thread, weren't you originally actually arguing that ethnicity and/or nationality of sex offenders shouldn't be recorded? Apologies if I've mixed you up with somebody else but I don't think I have.

Anyway, local to me in the space of a few days:

A migrant sexually assaulted several women in the street in broad day light

A migrant attempted to abduct a 10 year old girl from a park, prevented by the girl's father

A migrant arrested in a park for following and filming children

That's in the space of a few days.

Do you know the difference between migrants and asylum seekers?

I haven't seen your statistics. However sexual assault statistics aren't necessarily accurate.

I've posted them on this page if you scroll up.

Also how to you relate the lack of supposed accuracy to what happened in Cologne, a mass event that was widely witnessed? Why weren't men from all backgrounds equally assaulting that night?

What lack of supposed accuracy? If you don't believe that sexual assault is vastly underreported there's plenty of information online regarding this.

What happened in Cologne was stranger attacks and widely witnessed. I'm sure men of all backgrounds were assaulting that night. I doubt there was a consensus for men to stop attacking women so Cologne attacks could take place.

Oh wow it’s amazing how a tiny minority have such a hold over the completely resistant majority isn’t it? To the extent their own equipped army we spent ££££ ran like cowards away from them?

Yes, that's what happens when an occupying army leaves state of the art equipment which is captured by the
Taliban.

In fact Trump negotiated with the Taliban before pulling the Americans out and released 5k Taliban prisoners.

When your country is government by terrorists and extremists who have very powerful weapons, you don't stand much of a chance.

What are you saying then?

Who is welcome and who is not?

Men from terrifyingly misogynistic cultures are not welcome as far as I’m concerned. The women and children are as they need to escape them.

No, Reform and the far right are stirring up trouble. That isn't evidence that asylum seekers are routinely attacking thousands of women.

Do you have any views on the stats I posted that indicate that cerrtain nationalities do in fact have a far greater propensity towards sexual offenses?

I haven't seen your statistics. However sexual assault statistics aren't necessarily accurate.

Women are more likely to be attacked by someone they know (85%) and over half of survivors don't report the assault. Stranger assault is more likely to be reported and prosecuted than a partner, where there's very little proof.

Stranger assault is rare and it sounds like you're judging whole swathes of people as sexual predators because of where they're born.

We're not 'importing' offenders. That would mean that the government are going to other countries and asking for criminals to come to the UK. That's not happening.

You can't send an asylum seeker back to a country where they could be persecuted or their life is in danger as it's against the law.

Jesus wept, I do know what 'importing' means.

To be honest I don't give a shit about what might happen to them, if they commit rape or assault they aren't welcome here. What happens to them in their own country isn't my concern.

ETA before someone feels the need to point it out I am aware we have plenty of home grown rapists etc. but unfortunately we're stuck with them. We don't need to keep the ones who aren't born here.

SpaceRaccoon · 10/08/2025 10:21

It was discussed earlier in the thread that well-controlled legal migration solves a lot of these issues, with India as an example.
There's a massive problem with sexual violence in India, but the kind of legal migrants that come to the UK to study or work, don't present a problem. They're obviously vetted for any criminal records, and they're an educated, middle-class demographic.

I'm talking about asylum seekers in the UK.

So if they come to the UK instead of, say, Germany or Sweden, they won't offend in the same pattern?
