What do men say if their DW/DP thinks they fancy another woman?

There’s no AIBU really…. But what do men usually say if they’ve been caught checking out another woman, and/or being overly familiar with her. Wife will ask: ‘do you like her?’

Do husbands usually say ‘no, she’s not my type/don’t like blondes/bust too small/legs too short’ or something to that effect? Or something else?

Op why would someone ask if their partner fancied someone if they were checking them out? The answer would be obvious.

Everyone is attracted to people who aren't their partner. That's normal. Blatant/prolonged leching is disrespectful and rude though

These days I think it's just as common for women to check out other women. If the woman & her partner have a good relationship and communicate well, I can fully see it not being an issue. I'm only a B-cup and have caught myself staring at some huge boobs on occasion. My BF thought it hilarious when he saw me doing so at a party: "Those are bigger than your head, you do realise?" he said. Lol.
It's 2025 so come on people, it shouldn't be a serious issue.

I think it would be nice if a DH/DP thought his wife was the best looking to him though 😅

In his defence, I love my DH dearly and think he’s very attractive - but he doesn’t hold a candle to David Beckham, and I think he’d know I was lying if I suggested otherwise.

LoopyLoo1991 · 30/07/2025 20:38

I've been pretty Bi since my teens. I met my now BF 12 years ago through a neighbour of his - a girl who I slept with on occasions. She later slept with him. I chatted about with him when I found out. No issues and we had a laugh. Several relationships later we hooked up in 2017 and it never really gets brought up.
If it does it's very minor: we both checked out a very curvy girl in tight jeans when shopping in a supermarket. "You would, wouldn't you?" he said "Oh yes!" I replied. I've had drunken fumbles with female friends a few times - particularly in first few months of our relationship.
Due to his bad upbringing in a disastrous family situation, he hates the idea of 'owning anyone' and told me at the very start us seeing each other, that if I found someone more compatible - female or male - he'd be happy for us & still be my friend. He knows all the details of my violent Exs, the stalking I ensured and my psycho ex-'girlfriend' and has been extremely laid back of our relationship. I prefer it that way. We don't live together as he's partly disabled and lives in supported housing block. Despite eight years together neither of us know where we're going - he can't have kids naturally & due to my previous issues I probably won't want a baby now but who knows. We'll manage I am sure.

DH would probably tell me that he thought she was attractive… he wouldn’t caveat to say not as attractive as me, as I’m not so big headed to think that I’m the most attractive woman in the world, he can think other women are more attractive, I know he loves me the most!

I would be one of them!

Hahha. I’ve seen men whose wives glare at them, or put their arm around them as if to ‘mark their territory’. 😂Some men pick up on their wife’s annoyance…. Others don’t 😅

Exactly.. that was me a few years ago, obsessing over what my ex was looking at, pictures he was liking, model pages he’d joined.. it was too much, and so fucking disrespectful. How can anyone feel secure when they are constantly looking at airbrushed filtered skinny young women.
So I took myself out of the equation and I’m free of it now. Because they are all like that, unless low sex drives.. Since becoming single all the married men I know have been sleazy towards me in some way, even the quiet ones who I thought were happy.
The ones who give me the most ick are the old men with their wives staring, and the ones with their families and small kids.
I feel so content knowing I’ll never have to worry about it again!

Good for you. None of those airbrushed women look like their photos or videos (which are just as easy to edit)…. I’ve seen so many of them in real life or in older candid pictures. It would do some of these men good to see them as well like that… although most of them don’t care and are happy to live on fantasy island. I actually think they might as well get off to AI images or anime or cartoons!! It’s about as natural as what they currently look at…

I feel exactly the same way. It’s the same with all those men who follow 900k photoshopped women on Instagram 😅 and their girlfriends/wives are on here, upset, posting that he’s messaging X or he’s obsessing over Y.

I love being single because instead of being hurt by this shit I just see it happen to other women constantly and feel sad for them instead. It’s very rare to see a man not doing it, they are very clever at doing it when their wives are looking elsewhere.

I know my husband probably checks out other women to some degree. He has a very spesific type so if I see a woman who fits that when we are out together I normally say “don’t look there” as a joke. To be honest, if I caught him checking out someone who looked nothing like me I would be pretty upset, but that’s never happened.

If I see a very attractive man I will have a quick glance, so I don’t get angry at him for doing the same. When we were on holiday we had a waiter who I will admit was very handsome and nice and at the end of the meal DH said “I’m not tipping your little boyfriend by the way”. I think having a bit of a joke about it is the best way to go. Obviously if I caught him looking for too long though I would blind him.

😆😆😆

CoughCoughLaugh · 29/07/2025 15:54

I am absolutely certain my husband likes the look of other women, because he has eyes and a healthy libido. However, in a quarter of a century I have never seen him eyeing up other women. I'm sure, even when we have been together he has seen and appreciated a good looking woman but because he's not a disrespectful letch I haven't seen it. But, whilst I'm no oil painting, I know my husband loves me for the chunky but adorable monkey I tell him I am! 😂

"Just because a man's on a diet doesn't mean he can't look at the menu." is the traditional response, I believe.

Haha I know some men who would get told off for saying something like that!

Your wife indicated at another woman and said, “Look at her tits.” ? Like, in public? Or was it someone on the telly?

Really?

Really?

Really really?

If so, can you please ask her to stop?

I also call BS.

Today my wife pointed out another woman's breasts to me. I appreciated her gesture.

Not sure how this specifically adds to this thread but it feels relevant. She seems to trust me to appreciate another woman being attractive without feeling threatened.

I take it they were big boobs? I’d definitely be uncomfortable as a woman but if you guys are happy with it…

They lie, I think that goes for women too. I don’t think women check other men out as often as men do women but if I was caught and my husband asked me if I fancied him I’d probably say no, I wouldn’t want to hurt his feelings.

I think that's only because there aren't many attractive men around. Women definitely check men out, they are just smarter how they go about it

Look, OP, if you’re writing a novel, the point is you make stuff up yourself.

Chiseltip · 28/07/2025 23:54

Presumably the same thing you do when your DP notices you checking out other men.

No - people are different. You can say men are all the same or women are all the same.

women check out people other than their partners too
