To ask if anyone has seen ufo, ghost, fae?

I am curious if anybody here has seen any of these things , such as UFO or a ghost or what can be known as “fae”? I have once seen lights in the sky which could have been the Chinese lanterns, but I am open minded and interested in this subject

Anyone follow Professor Abraham "Avi" Loeb? He's a theoretical physicist at Harvard. He's on a mission to prove that there's life out there in the Universe.

I saw Sandy, my neighbour of 25 years in a cash & carry store 10 years ago. Nothing strange about that. I knew she had a membership card for the store and I'd often bump into her there. She was standing very still, without a trolly and unusually without her husband. They literally went everywhere together. I assumed he'd gone off to get something in the store and she was just hanging around waiting for him. She was just the other side of the freezers from me (about 5ft away) and I looked at her for a while waiting for her to see me. At that moment something slid off my very full trolly and I stooped to pick it up. When I got back up, she was gone - absolutely nowhere to be seen. I continued shopping and was very surprised not to encounter either her or her husband. When I got home, another of my neighbours knocked on my front door to tell me that tragically Sandy had been found dead by her husband that morning. I know it was Sandy I saw. I'd known her for years and she was very distinctive looking - being only 4ft 7in tall and with slightly balding hair.

Incredible account of spirit - a friend reaching out to say goodbye to you although at the time you had no idea.

As soon as you said "a Mr" I wondered if you were in Hull! 🤣 I lived there for a few years and I have never heard anywhere else use that term!

Prospect Centre is known for hauntings isnt it?

Does the white supremacist still work there as a security guard? I really hope not.

I don't know about a guard-wed only nipped in to go to curry's!
I'm from York but my ex lived in Hull and we used to go to see him
'Mr' is what the kids said-they where white when they came out-ive never seen them so frightened
Ds swore it was true-i can't say either way as I was on the other side of the door listening in as they had form for scrapping if they got too close to each other!

Gravity and magnetism are invisible forces but they are not entities. Air pressure is an invisible force and is not an entity. An invisible force does not imply an entity.

Jasmin71 · 29/07/2025 13:04

MasterBeth · 29/07/2025 13:00

Why do you attribute these experiences to an "entity"?

It was done with energy. Specifically, kinetic energy. Energy can't be created or destroyed, only transferred. Energy was therefore introduced to the events from an invisible force. Said invisible force is the "entity".

All witnesses saw the same thing, at the same time.

Any event was too quick to go and grab the family camera.

I wrote in my diary at the time. Said diary is probably long gone or in a box in the attic of my childhood home.

Why do you attribute these experiences to an "entity"?

I once saw the ghost of Sarah Brocklebank in york
She lived in york at micklegate bar,her father was the gatekeeper and on her 7th birthday, someone mislaid the keys to the gates to the bar walls
They ended to homeless and she spent the rest of her life looking for them, before dying and she's often seen around york, still looking for the keys
I know what I saw-my ex saw her too

I've also seen my best friend in my kitchen,on the day of her funeral

I often ask my darling grandad to send me a sign and within the day i see or hear something that he loved in life

I was once sat on my sofa (not in the house I live in now) watching TV,when an orb (about the size of a footbal) came down from the ceiling, hovered and vanished

My dd was about 9 when she was in bed asleep
I was just getting into bed when I heard screaming
She'd woken up and I couldn't calm her down for ages
She said a 'Mr with a bad eye, sliver hair,a dodgy fingernail and no feet was stood in my doorway'
It must have been my grandad (who died 5 years before she was born and my mother withheld all pictures from us out of jealousy and spite)
He was blind in his left eye,had silver not grey hair,an accident at work left him with no finger nail on one finger and had really bad feet
It was a comfort that he'd come back to watch over her

My two boys once needed the toilet in Hull and the nearest ones where in the prospect centre
They where at that age where they where too old to come with me into the ladies, but would fight/mess about in the gents (I seem to remember they where aged about 5/6 and 7/8)
I sent them in with firm instructions to 'go in,do what you need to do,wash your hands and come out'
I'm standing outside with my foot in the door and in they went
I could hear them but not see them
All of a sudden both shot out, white faces and pure fear written all over them
They said they seen an 'old mr with army clothes and wooden crutches with one leg'
We got the hell out of there and back to my exs flat with me promising to Google it once we where back
It is built on an old hospital (either ww1 or ww2-i can't remember) and treated wounded soldiers-quite a few had limbs blown off
I asked ds2 (now aged 25) a year or so ago and he swore that they'd both been telling the truth-theyd gone into one toliet cubicle together and locked it behind them
The lock and started to slide open by itself and that scared them so they'd come out and saw him,he seemed to be wispering something to them, but they panicked and ran out to me
He did admit to neither washing their hands but just ran to the door but didn't admit to this at the time as they thought I'd send them back in!

I wonder if that was a time slip? Shock

Someone else suggested that and I had to Google them. I don't believe in them. 🤣

The "bombed" buildings were so out of place, the architecture was wrong for the area. Needing to be vague again but think something like the suburban buildings in nuclear tests in the centre of Venice for example. I guess there could be those buildings but they would be so incongruent and random that people would know about them. There has also never been any sort of bombing in the place.

Then the flat cap men just didnt fit in. I did wonder whether it was just the local fashion but no one else seemed to be wearing similar clothing.

And the building we walked alongside went on for miles with no windows or anything like that. It was straight so we werent walking round in circles. We both had watches (and sore feet!) so we were accurate with the timing.

Even if I did believe in time slips, it was all just wrong and a bit of this and a bit of that. Then there was the shock that the man looked at me with.

This was maybe 20 years ago now. I looked for the bit of paper last night but I think it's in the attic and I googled again but nothing.

One day, Ill Google the right term and find the answer and it will be obvious and I will feel stupid. 🤣

I haven’t seen a ghost or UFO however I did have an experience that I can’t explain. Early 20’s and in a part of an overseas country I’d never been to before. Got invited to a party that was the following day. I had a dream the night before that showed me walking to the party and whilst there, a man would steal a watch that had been left in the upstairs bathroom and it would be spotted in his pocket by someone else. The next afternoon I didn’t even think about directions to the party, I simply walked there knowing the way. Literally everything in my dream was the same down to the type of fence I walked alongside and the watch being stolen and spotted. I had never been to the town and didn’t enter the town from the party’s direction.

Same here. I saw a doppelgänger of myself walking down the hallway of my house. I also have heard a voice clearly saying my name from outside my bedroom door, more than one. In each case I was a sleep deprived new mother and with the doppelgänger I was also on strong painkillers. I know this is just how the human brain works and nothing paranormal is happening but I can see how some people would think there was.

When Im tired I sometimes get auditory hallucinations. Nothing major and I know they aren't real. Its happened for as long as I can remember.

I'll hear someone saying really clearly something random like "what's going on here then?" or "dont forget the shoelaces". Its never linked to anything Ive been doing/seen and its as if the person saying it is right next to me. Its never anything harmful, dangerous or scary although it can make me jump as if it was real!

I've never been concerned about it and always assumed everyone got it (like everyone sees things out of the corner of their eye sometimes) so never thought to mention it.

I said something flippantly about it to my partner a few weeks ago and he was horrified. He got quite upset and worried about it. I now have to promise to tell him everytime it happens and what I hear. I think he thinks that I "hear voices".

It took me quite a while to convince him that I know they arent real, they dont say anything bad and it doesnt happen very often and certainly doesnt bother me (apart from when it makes me jump).

OK, this is a good start.

"A non-visible entity capable of kinetic activity did, on numerous occasions in 1980s northern England, cause the movement of various items of furniture and ornaments. The source of kinetic energy was undetectable by those who independently witnessed each event and it remains a mystery to the present day"

My questions:
Why do you attribute this experience to an "entity"?

What evidence beyond remembered personal testimony from 40 years ago do you have of these movements? Do the witnesses all describe the same things? Was each incident witnessed individually or did multiple people see the same thing?

Do you have any photographs or film footage? Did you make contemporaneous notes?

All witnesses saw the same thing, at the same time.

Any event was too quick to go and grab the family camera.

Will try to keep long story short. I neither believe nor disbelieve in spirits, but this has really made me think.

In the last two years we have had two new neighbours. Out for a drink with one of them and she asks me if the previous owners of her house had ever mentioned a presence in the house (I think the house was probably built in the late 1960s/early 70s). They never had. She said that ever since she had been there she had always felt there was someone else with her in one of the bedrooms. Also a different smell to the rest of the house. She had mentioned it to the other new neighbour, who I don't know very well. Neighbour No 2 said she was some sort of medium and offered to go into the room. She said there was a spirit there of a man wearing a leather apron and she had asked him to leave. All well since then. Different smell gone. Neighbour No 1 had never felt afraid, just that she was not alone.

Purely by chance last week I bumped into my old neighbour in town. We went for a coffee and I said, you'll never guess what, and related the story. The room in question had been her son's room. She said they had never experienced anything and we had a bit of a laugh about it.

Last Saturday I had a call from my old neighbour. She had seen her son that morning (he is now married with two children) and jokingly said did he know that his old bedroom was haunted. To her shock he replied yes! He said that he had sensed a presence many times and for some reason he always pictured in his head a man with a leather apron. She asked why he had never mentioned it and he said he thought he would be ridiculed by the rest of the family. However, he had been concerned enough about it to speak to our local vicar at the time who came and said a prayer in the room whilst my friend was out.

New neighbour and old neighbour met once, on moving day, and the son had never met them.

Even stranger. Back in the day, the site where the house is used to be occupied by the village blacksmith/farrier. We are now trying to find any old photos of the village that might show the forge/blacksmith.

Make of that what you will.

When I was a little girl we had to move house because my brother was being terrorised by an apparition of an old man. Local vicar told my parents the previous owners had asked him to perform a blessing at the house because they'd also seen the same apparition.

None of us are remotely woo, but that's a hard one to explain away.

No, I can't explain. I wasn't there. I think you should try harder to find an explanation, though.

'she' is being perfectly rational thanks, and can you leave my child out of your misery now please? You're not interested in my story - fine. Drop it now, I don't want to see you talking about me again.

Sorry - you have introduced your child's story into this public thread. You don't get to police who then refers back to that story.

I've said nothing at all derogatory or personal about your child. In fact, I'm only really talking about your reaction to your child's words, not them at all.

No, I can't explain. I wasn't there. I think you should try harder to find one, though. It wasn't a ghost.

There doesn't happen to be a mundane explanation.

There can be a rational explanation.

It's not mundane if you've suffered from hallucinations or delusions. I'd start from there as my explanation.

Every incident was witnessed by more than one person, in a family setting, explain that ?

constantlylactating · 29/07/2025 10:16

MasterBeth · 28/07/2025 22:08

How is it open-minded to shut the door on a rational explanation?

She will not listen to the rational explanation - a small child said a thing that she rationalised as some kind of prophecy or telepathy or somehow beyond the ordinary but was actually just a small child saying a thing. How can it be open-minded to dismiss that?

'she' is being perfectly rational thanks, and can you leave my child out of your misery now please? You're not interested in my story - fine. Drop it now, I don't want to see you talking about me again.
