I am curious if anybody here has seen any of these things , such as UFO or a ghost or what can be known as “fae”? I have once seen lights in the sky which could have been the Chinese lanterns, but I am open minded and interested in this subject

This is nuts ^^. It literally means nothing.

Your small child said a thing when you were in a distressed and emotional state. It doesn't mean he is defying the laws of physics to bring you commentary from beyond the grave!

your life must be very boring, I'm so sorry for you.

I grew up with poltergeist activity so I am very open minded. I'm also a scientist so very sensible and good at ruling out the mundane when presented with a strange occurrence.

There was literally no other explanation for the things I saw.

Yes, there is.

LittleMi55Nobody · 28/07/2025 11:49

we had a friendly poltergeist in an old flat we lived at....it loved to rapidly open and close the drawers...

When my son was about 3, my car popped a tyre on the motorway. I did a full 180 spin, went from the outside lane, to being backwards on the inside lane right in front of the van I was overtaking. I just took my hands and feet off everything and prayed, I could see the van driver screaming.

The car continued spinning, and I came off the motorway backwards, down an embankment and ended up in a farmers field, parallel to the road. I missed two trees and a huge boulder, but the car was torn up from smashing through the fence. I got out and the van driver was running down the embankment.

He called the ambulance and police for me, and they checked me over, not a scratch. Recovery van took me back home, where my husband and son were at home. It was early in the morning still, so as a pick-me-up for the shock my husband drove us out to mcdonalds for some breakfast. As we were about halfway between our house and mcdonalds, my son shouted BYE GWAN-MA which is what he called my nan, who had died almost one year earlier.

I said, 'what do you mean, why are you saying 'bye' to Grandma?' and he said 'she was here because you needed her, but she's gone now' and even to this day that sends shivers down my spine. The police said they had never seen the driver walk away when the car was in as bad a state as mine. I shouldn't have walked away from it, she was definitely with me that day, as she has been during other traumatic occasions since.

When I was younger I woke to find my Papa, who had died many years before, holding my foot at the bottom of the bed. I didn’t see him properly but knew it was him. I’ve often wondered if it was just a dream but it didn’t feel like one. I wasn’t scared despite things like this scaring me generally.

The only other time in my life of experiencing anything like this was when we moved in to our current house. From the of the bedrooms I glimpsed someone going down the stairs a few times and could also smell cigarette smoke at the same time.

My sister was with me one night and we were on the floor in the room (child’s bedroom so we were playing with DC) and she caught a glimpse of it too. I hadn’t mentioned it to her but noticed her glance round to the stairs as if someone was there, and she said she thought someone had gone downstairs.

It was just enough to make you look round. But then no one was there. First couple of times it happened to me I didn’t think anything of it, but then when it happened again I started to wonder.

We have a unit in front of the landing bannister now so can no longer see the stairs from there, and I’ve not sat on that floor for a few years.

House was incredibly filthy with tobacco / smoke when we moved in and we had to strip everything and repaint. It might be that the smell of smoke was just lingering somewhere but the only time I could smell it was when I thought someone was going down the stairs.

Previous owners were both very heavy smokers - the owners H dying had prompted her to sell up. Neighbours told us if you went to the door the smoke was so thick it used to blow out the door!

Yes. I’ve seen a few (ghosts, not aliens). And orbs. I was told by a medium once that I had a gift. Not seen one in a while.

We gave her phone to her best friend, as I said, cleared of all data. My number wasn’t in there, and my mum’s friend didn’t have my number, and wouldn’t have rung me anyway.

Also, I was teaching and didn’t answer it, and I’m sure if she’d rung me for any reason, she’d have left a message.

It’s a bit odd. I’m sure someone on here will be able to offer an explanation, though.

BlueEyedBogWitch · 28/07/2025 07:43

No, I hadn’t.

Thingyfanding · 28/07/2025 06:30

BlueEyedBogWitch · 27/07/2025 07:59

That’s actually a relief.

I’ve asked lots of people why ‘Mum’ flashed up on my phone a few weeks after she died. We’d cleared her phone back to factory settings and given it to her friend.

I’ve googled like mad and couldn’t come up with an answer, so I’m glad to have one now.

I’m glad I’ve given a few people a laugh on a Sunday morning, anyway.

They do recycle old numbers, it’s true, but why would the person with the new number have yours? Unless you had sent messages or tried to call your mums old number perhaps. I know some people do that which is understandable.

How.wonderful that those who get kick out of diminishing others' experiences have somewhere to come to tonight.

One could be forgiven for thinking they were unwelcome elsewhere....

MoonWoman69 · 28/07/2025 00:25

Yes to all those! I also do videos for YouTube on all manner of subjects, including paranormal! My next video, which I'm in the process of doing, will be a mix of my own UFO sightings, including the one I saw last Thursday evening!

My husband found a hilarious podcast about the fae. The host asked for people to share their experiences and SO many of them were along the lines of, “I was in a forest and for a second, I felt chilly. IT WAS THE FAE.” Or, “I stood up and was dizzy for a moment… IT WAS THE FAE.” There WERE, of course, a few stories that were much more interesting/believable, but it was as if the host didn’t consider the quality of any submission and just shared everything that was sent in. “I once found a stick. It was a bit of a funny shape. IT WAS THE FAE.”

My opinion? Humanity has shared these stories, of ghosts or fae or something mysterious in the sky, for centuries so it’s not going to stop soon. Is it real? Enh. Science and superstition have been fighting like cats and dogs about it since forever. As always: having personal beliefs is fine; just don’t be a twat waffle about them (on either side).

Changednametonight · 27/07/2025 23:39

Late one night, I saw a silver beam of light come down from the top of the chimney breast wall and land on the edge of the bottom of the opposite wall. A small female looking figure sat at the bottom. I looked away and back again. It turned its head and smiled at me. It seemed to be a child and its expression was loving.

A year later, I gave birth to a daughter who, in later years, was the exact replica of the figure I had seen.

Never actually seen a UFO or aliens but had a few ‘abduction’ experiences as a child and the last at age 15. Whether these were actual abductions or some kind of psychological episodes I don’t know although the last one left me with physical marks that could not be explained and some other information that always made me feel that was an actual genuine physical event rather than a psychological one.

Many people claim to have seen fae, how do we know they’re not real 🤔

I saw a UFO in July 2023 on a lovely clear blue summer’s day. I think about it quite often

What did it look like?

What interests me is the mundanity of it all. Ghosts moving chargers etc. Surely they'd do something more interesting if they were real. However on the subject of fae being real (come on now) I wouldn't mind a visit after some of the books I've read recently.

MasterBeth · 27/07/2025 22:19

Morecoombe · 27/07/2025 22:14

How do you know?

The same way I know dogs can’t fly and the tooth fairy isn’t real. A lack of convincing evidence.
