With this revelation:

KitKat is set to undergo its biggest transformation in nearly 90 years, as the iconic four-finger chocolate bar makes way for a new two-column sharing design.

SHARING!!??? 🤣

I do not share any food ever. Think Smithy's Indian take away rant, so I'm certainly not sharing a Kit Kat. The very nerve of them.

Kvikk Lunsj - Wikipedia

Recently had one of these when on holiday in Norway - far better than what passes for a Kit Kat these days!

Ugh, these new 'sharing' bars were nasty and had that weird bitter taste you get in some American chocolate. Why does everything have to be upgraded or updated? If folk are still buying the original it's because they're happy with it!

StrawberrySquash · 20/07/2025 21:14

Japanese KitKats are very odd! It's a totally different product, built around loads of flavours and seasonal options. But a lot don't really taste of chocolate.

Brendahollowayreconsider · 20/07/2025 21:01

Hmv sell some of the Japanese kit Kat's vv expensive so didn't buy any.

as a slight aside... Kit Kats are hugely popular in Japan. They have more than 300 different flavours, though not all of them are produced year-round.

How dare they!!!!

pinkfondu · 20/07/2025 20:59

Not sure about Joe, however it was the number one chocolate bar for years and years

You share a box of chocolates but not a bar😅

Yes but only get to take the ones I don't like that's the conditions of sharing.

Overrated chocolate bar

KitKats are pointless ever since they got rid of the foil. And Chunky KitKats are no longer chunky because of shrinkflation.

Oh I agree. The foil was everything.

Kit Kat has opened a Chocolatory in the Melbourne Central Shopping Centre in Melbourne, Australia. There was also one in Sydney, however this was closed June 2024.[62] The shops allow customers to use touch screens to create their own Kit Kat from a selection of chocolates and ingredients; they are made while the customers wait, and customers can mix their own flavours with some Kit Kat that has been provided in store.[63]

I was glad when they decided to stop making the vegan KitKat, they just didn't get the taste right at all but I sometimes forgot how sickly they were and bought one anyway. 🤢 I thought they announced these sharing ones a few months ago though?

CoastalCalm · 20/07/2025 20:39

They’re not nice at all since they reduced the cacao content - standard greasy tasting chocolate how

Viviennemary · 20/07/2025 20:39

It's just quite a big kitkat bar. Three different flavours, it's very nice but a bit daft to call it sharing. It's not big enough to share.

MyDadWasAnArse · 20/07/2025 20:38

Sharing bars and sharing bags, stuff that for a lark. I never share.

Tiredallthetimeneedsleep · 20/07/2025 20:36

Extra info - there's a place where you can make your own KIT- kat ( choose your own flavour ) - not in the UK though, AND, THERES A FIVE FINGER VERSION!! ( Possibly in the US/ Canada) Will have to check my sources

I don’t want to share my kit-kat.
That would be kit-krap lol

ThinWomansBrain · 20/07/2025 20:07

give it a few months and it will have shrunk to the size of a regular two finger one.
Have you had a "chunky" kitkat recently?
They're now about the most unchunkiest thing imaginable.

LittlleMy · 20/07/2025 20:00

I've enclosed a pic below of what I think they mean by sharing bar - so basically instead of four thin fingers just two columns as in pic once it loads.

Looks crap - the best part was breaking of a thin finger and nibbling away on it for me! Really don’t like the new style 😩

PluckyChancer · 20/07/2025 20:00

I was also going to mention the Japanese Kit Kats. My DIL usually brings back a selection when she’s visited her parents back home and they’re delicious. 😋

StrawberrySquash · 20/07/2025 19:53

Is this kid the new bars they launched earlier this year that are in the ~100g bar section? And are they phasing out normal ones? If not it's just new chocolate bars.

shellyleppard · 20/07/2025 19:50

😳😳 it just won't be a kit kat anymore 😞😞
