Biggest problem - my dad has Parkinson’s disease, and his doctors still don’t know if he’s having hallucinations because of the disease, or if he’s having hallucinations as a medication side effect. This has been going on for months.

Biggest new problem - a bunch of parents at my daughters’ private school objected to something the administration did and withdrew their kids, so several of my daughters’ friends are not coming back. (I also was not happy with this thing the administration did, but I didn’t think it rose to the level of something that merited removing my kids. Not going to go into details, but for the record, the thing wasn’t anything morally wrong.) This has made a big impact on their enrollment numbers, and I’m worried that this is the beginning of a downward spiral and the school might be closed within a few years. My kids love this school, and except for this thing the administration did, my husband and I are really happy with it too.

My husband just left me unexpectedly after almost 30 years of marriage, and, now I’m ill, the two things aren’t connected.

I don’t know what’s wrong with me, I’m having tests, but I have really terrible abdo pain, and am sick at least once every day. This has been going on a few months

I guess the sickness is taking my mind off the shitshow that my previously ordinary, but I thought, happy, life has become

raspberryberet7 · 18/07/2025 01:05

Money 😩

Thefsm · 18/07/2025 00:58

My husband cheated two and a half years ago and though it ended when I found out he doesn’t love me anymore except as a friend. But we are stuck waiting for our green card process and our living situation and finances require we still share a bed and so I can’t grieve and move on I’m stuck constantly wanting it to be fixed. I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder after several psych ward trips for suicidal issues which explains why it is so hard to detach but damn. If he’s just left at the time I’d be healing by now. 26 years together.

Kleya25 · 18/07/2025 00:56

Finances.

A useless mad boss.

Having to accept that partner is never going to improve health wise and I will now be their carer for the rest of my life. Not quite the midlife I was expecting really!

OSTMusTisNT · 18/07/2025 00:51

MIL in end stage dementia but it seems never ending. It will be a blessing when she finally goes. Visiting the person you knew as an intelligent , kind, vibrant and highly qualified medic who is now an empty shell is horrendous.

On a lighter note, I removed the chocolate from my Tesco online order yesterday and now at 1am, really fancy it 🙄.

My autistic 25 year old son has just been diagnosed as type 1 diabetic , currently in hospital in dka , an unpredictable difficult to manage chronic condition is unfortunately going to make life a whole lot harder for someone who already struggles with routine change

Sorry to randomly reply but I wanted to give you a little bit of hope.

My 10 year old daughter was diagnosed with type one last year after going in to DKA and is also on the spectrum. Whilst it is life changing, you will find your way with it and things will get better. In the beginning everything is so overwhelming and there is so much to learn but it all becomes second nature.

Diabetes loves routine is what we were told, and so does our child. You will make it work, but it will be stressful and it’s ok to grieve life before this diagnosis, take care of yourself and I hope your son surprises you and adjusts as well as he can 💛

Trying to get a diagnosis for DS ongoing health related issues (which is time sensitive), the GP failing to action the referrals that she was supposed to make months ago, and not being able to afford to go private.

Other anxiety related health issues with DS (not caused by the above, but exacerbated by them).

Peri-menopause is absolutely breaking me, mentally and physically. I just want to feel like myself again.

Aging parents who live hours away (they announced they were moving closer to us which would have been lovely, but that was 9 years ago and it still hasn't happened!).

Our house needs a lot of work doing but no money to do it. So much decluttering needed too, but no motivation to do it (thanks peri-menopause!).

Edited

Hi @Shufflebumnessie it feels like finding a way to ease the peri menopause symptoms could be the secret to you finding the energy to tackle all the shit you’re dealing with :0(
I am on HRT and for me it was a game changer. My friend went on HRT that allowed her still a bleed as she wasn’t fully through the menopause and was having odd periods . Her life changed almost over night going on the HRT tablets.
And certainly for me, after 2 years period free, when I went on Evoril patches I felt amazing and could tackle life again with wanting to scream. They will bury me with a patch on my ass!! 😅

I am on long term sick leave and housebound 95% of the time.

Me too! Really struggling with it, can’t cope with everyday life & the easiest of tasks. It’s all getting on top of me now, don’t know where to turn.

how long have you been on long term sick?

Velmy · 18/07/2025 00:34

Nintendo Switch 2 or another pair of Travis Scott Jordans.

Welikebeingcosy · 17/07/2025 22:24

Thank you, you're very sweet....

I followed none of that advice today but did read your whole post and thought 'i do need to take charge of this situation' and have been decluttering all day.

The day has ended more positively, so thank you for your lovely words of motivation 💓🙏

That’s great @Welikebeingcosy - honestly I’m such a lover of decluttering. If I’m stressed or low this is what I do.

I hope you can keep at it tomorrow - small steps to getting yourself in order!! And also try and tackle some of the things that are getting you down - like not being able to do some sport and healthy eating for you… and try and get to the doctors or push to get an appointment. Our doctor releases the next week’s in a Friday pm… you never know!!

xx

Just want to say I'm so sorry for everything that you are all going through. Life can be fucking cruel. I lost my labrador in a truly horrific accident a few months ago. She fell from a third floor balcony onto the high street of a busy town centre. She actually survived the fall but broke all four legs. I will never ever forget the sound of the thud when she hit the pavement, or the crying out in pain, or the look in her eyes when I was cradling her. I know some people will say, 'she was just a dog' but it was the most horrendous thing I've ever gone through. 💔

So sorry to hear this. How awful for you 😢

My severely disabled DC has just been cut off from one of the only useful services we have access to / the one that gave a few evenings a year of respite (DC rarely sleeps past 2am).
I’m sick of being too old and sore and her life being dominated by a condition we don’t have a name for and no prognosis and while she’s brilliant I’m terrified of what her life will be like when I can’t do things for her any more.
And my “DH” is a horrible self-centred cruel cunt.
I really really wish I’d never been born - I’ve brought nothing to this world (one dead DC, miscarriages etc) and no one gives a fuck if I dropped dead in the morning except for my DC and she probably would get by anyway

Dear @Cannongoose / you sound like you’re in a terrible situation.
it may help you to start your own thread as there often amazing people who comment with legal knowledge who may be able to advise you on your benefits and poss more on how to deal with your DH.
sending love x

I recently and unexpectedly became permanently disabled after being active all my life. Single, no parents, no siblings, no children and no partner. Psychologically as well as physically challenging. Nobody to look after me when this gets even worse (which it will).

Edited

I’m really sorry @SingleAHF - this must feel really difficult. I hope you can ask people on here for specific advice when you need it. I hope you have some finances available too for any practical help you may need.
ive also said a few times on this thread, not because im religious, but because people who go to church tend to be friendly and you may find some support at a local one,
wishing you all the very best xx

My mum has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 17/07/2025 23:57

Not enough money
Job very busy and stressful

I feel like those two shouldn’t be happening at the same time!

Not massive problems in the great scheme

My job is insecure, has an extremely uncertain future and I've wasted five years not paying into an occupational pension. 😬

Same! I freelance due to MH issues and I'm very aware the work could dry up any minute. Stopped paying into my pension because I was earning so little.

We kind of had a plan that DH would be the breadwinner and I would do everything else + the freelancing and we would manage quite comfortably. Now DH has left out of the blue after 17 years so I've got that to come to terms with, DC to look after and entertain and I need to work out how to pay the bills. It's not good and I feel like an absolute mug. Everyone always said not to become financially dependent on a man but I genuinely thought we were different. Never trusting any fucker again.

So sorry after reading your post. We look after my DD's dog from time to time and she always brightens our day. I really can imagine how close you are to your dog and wish you the best of times with him/her.
Sending you and your lovely dog a hug. 🤗🤗

Sorry. I missed the times you said 'him'. I should have previewed my post. x

My darling dog has just been diagnosed with heart disease, he's 12. I am just so sad as I thought we had years left together, he's the other half of me and I'm not sure I can even begin to imagine life without him. He comes to work with me, sleeps on my bed, and even sits next to me when I use the toilet. My shadow. My best friend. I'm still recovering from losing my Dad to cancer and now this. I know he's just a dog but he's my dog.

My anxious and lonely DC.

Mine too… her new only friend dumped her the last week of term - excluded her from an end of term event.

I try to be objective about the situation but she is just a generally nice easy going teenage kid - she has her flaws but its heartbreaking when this happens - she said she has given up on trying to make friends now - its just too hard for her. I hope you can find your way though the turmoil 🤞

BuntyBeaufort · 17/07/2025 23:05

DH and DS both highly stressed over work, DD hates her job but puts on a brave face, and I keep having dizzy spells.
